Song parodies a la Pony Tales things

Post  LoganAura on Thu Aug 09, 2012 8:51 am

Exactly what it says on the tin. Post either vocal, or lyrical, parodies for songs related to any campaign going on, wether it be Pony Tales, Wizard, Hooved adventurers, or Tatters! I'll start:

This Game Aria, as sung by two DMs
Evil DM:
This game is going to be Perfect.
The kind of game of which I've dreamed since I was small.
There'll be a huge TPK
Torrin'll be back, what can I say.
The PCs don't know this game will end them all!

***
Good DM:
This game was going to be perfect
The kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small.
But instead of giving loot
And ending with a big hoot!
The final die has been rolled, and it is nat 1

***
Evil DM:
Don't give a hoot
About the loot
The party won't
be very hearty
Cloud? Well I was lying when I say
That the cloud proved she was flying
and I stopped you all from trying,
The truth is she was right there all along!
Now Heat Wave despises you,
Conflagria's hate's not through
But, I still will have an alicorn!

***
Good DM:
I must escape before it's too late
Find a way to save the day!
Hope? I'd be lying if I say
That I don't fear that I may lose them
To one who will abuse them.
Not care for, help grow, entertain each day!
For I so love DMing.
All my thoughts well it is in..
Oh My player friends! I'll be there very soon!

***
Evil DM:
Finally, the moment has arrived
For me to be roll some loaded dice

***
Good DM:
Oh, the session Iwon't make
They'll be DMed by a fake!
My players! they will all

***
Evil DM:
die.
all die.
*Evil Laughter*

Peasant's Singing Quest, sung to the tune of Pinkie's Singing Telegram.

"This is your group quest
I hope it finds you well!
You're summoned by the king
cause he's seen the foes you've fell!
Dragon's torching four-year-olds
So help us eviscerate!
The feasts will be delicious
The loots first-rate!"

The Pony Tales Character Building Song

(Set to the cupcake song)

"All you have to do is choose your attributes
Just choose a cool mix
Now choose two skills for special training
And a cutie mark, it's a cinch!

Makin' a pony's such a breeze
Choose your race and combat talents
Then utilities too and a special move
Don't worry about the balance

Ponies, the fun is staying
Ponies, just keep on playing
Ponies! Ponies, ponies PONIES!

He's an evil game master!
He'll lead you into disaster!
And he'll kill you all,
Be you fighter or caster!
And what will you do?
When his plan follows through?
His monsters gobble you up
In a big tasty stew!

So...

Watch out.

The Art of DM
Thread by thread, building an adventure
Plot threads twist, breaking down the players bit by bit
Making sure exposition flows nicely
Don't want to have the party split
Always gotta keep in mind my pacing
Setting up the challenges they're facing
I'm planning my campaign...

Quest by quest, fussing on the details
Each quest-line, baiting them with treasure they'll desire
Crafting circumstances dire
That'll make PCs perspire
Gotta mind those intimate details
(And keep your players on the rails)
I'm running my campaign.

DMing's easy
Easier than you'd think
Just be fair and don't be sleazy
Run a good game
(Are the characters cheesy?)

Something brash, a plan that's stretching
Common sense? Your players probably died
Trying to wheel and deal with devils
In the hope of gaining extra levels
But the deal they offered stank
And now they've lost their only tank
We're trying to fix this mess

Sword by sword, spell by spell
Astral sea, heaven, hell
Orc by orc, gem by gem
Freeing souls we've condemned
And that's...

How you DM

ok, Raunbis, want to record the 2DM song? dibs on evil DM. May also try the art of DM, be a fun diversion.Tried singing it just now, it works. I do impersonations and like to sing, and was tempted to do theatre, before my common sense caught up with me. Who else wants to try getting these recorded and turned into an album? Gag album works as well.

If I had recording software, I'm a singer too. But sadly, I don't have recording software.

I'd be thrilled to hear anyone's version of anything here - I give full permission to use any of my lyrics. sunny

For AlicornPriest

So Many Wonders
What is this game
filled with so many wonders?
Sharp swords and spells
Delving dungeons for plunder

Orcs in their caves
And that merchant looks funny
Stopping a knave
To steal his hush money

Mooneeeeey!

Oh, what a magical place
I better grab my shield and my mace
If I knew this game had so much up it's sleeve
I'd have played it sooner, an RPG

Yes, I Love D&D!

[Set to: Love is In Bloom]

A Game's Starting Soon
A game’s starting soon
So everyone grab the Mountain Dew
The DM’s planning’s done
And now, it’s time to start the fun, because

A game’s starting soon
So everyone grab the Mountain Dew
Yes, a game’s starting soon
Setting up foes and dungeon rooms
For us (For us, For us…)

Perfect Villain (Sung to the tune of "Pefect Stallion")

The players are lawful and good.
They're the best heroes we could hope for!
The perfect villain you and I must find.
One to really make their fame soar!

Buuut...
This one's too cold;
This one's too hot.
He clearly has a terrible plot!

Vampire: "Muhahah!"

This guy's too silly;
He's way too boring.

Noble: "I say!"

Well nothing's wrong with this one
He seems alright!

"His orphanage sure thinks so!"

"How 'bout this one?"
He's much too flashy.

"He might do."
If he weren't so trashy.

Too weak,
Too strong,
Too neutral,
Too stupid!

He's strangely obsessed with princess kidnapping!

I don't think that we're mistaken.
It seems all the vile ones are taken.

I really feel that at this rate,
We'll never find the perfect hate.

Don't wanna quit and give up hope!

"What's the first thing you think of when you hear a train?"
"Oh please, oh please, oh please say-"

Gustave: "Rope!"

We did it girls, we've found the one!
Who will send our hero's rage aflutter!

"Wait a minute, let me get this straight. Are you talkin' about my father?"

If this isn't how you select every single monster you put in a campaign, then you're probably missing out:

Find a Beast Song
(To be sung between a Big Bad and his Monster-Keeper of choice, overlapping occasionally)

Now, Dark Overlord, sir, I cannot express my delight
I know somewhere in here –
In my circus of fear –
There’s a monster for you that’s just right

I can't wait to get started, but first let me make a decree:
This beast better be rough
And it better be tough
It’ll face six mid-level PCs

High Challenge Rating, got it!

Well I’m sure finding suitable monsters will be quite a breeze

How ‘bout something with status effects – maybe fear or disease

Sure! How 'bout Sir Flumph-y?
He’s spiky and flies and squirts acid with ease

Do you know what I do to those who displease?

Please sire, have faith
Give me just one minute
Somewhere in here is the beast that’ll win it

Come on, no rest for the wicked!

Wicked is good. I'd like it to be Evil.

Really? Because I think this owlbear has your name written all over it. True Neutral; Smite Evil won't work. Aww, look, he’s violent!

Pass.

I have so many wonderful monsters you’re sure to adore
There are ogres and wights
That I bet will delight

Their Challenge Rating’s below Four.

Maybe so, but I've seen this particular wight drain ten character levels in one encounter when he used his lucky dice!

That's it. Throw her to the dire weasels.

Wait! I’ve still got more choices
If you’ll just perceive it
How 'bout a cockatrice, or a salt mephit?

Fiercer. And crueler.

Fiercer, crueler. Right.

I've got just the thing in this hole, sire
Meet Duke Archibald Grey, the Gnoll!

It's just a gnoll.

Not just any gnoll. A gnoll Aristocrat!

...An NPC class? Let me make myself clear...

Listen you fool, this won't cut it
I need a monster worthy of me
Something horrid, something vile
Not anthro hyena bourgeoisie!

I'm sensing you want a monster that’s very powerful.

Ya think?

I have plenty of wonderful monsters both evil and strong
Like a huge purple worm or maybe an adult black dragon

Intriguing. Continue.

Of course. How 'bout an tophet, or a lich, or a roper?
When it comes to my monsters, the surface we’ve barely scratched
There’s rakshasas and devils
In cruelty they revel
Or perhaps you’d prefer this lovely frumious bandersnatch?

Impressive… most impressive. But instead of just one standout, now that's too many.

So many monsters, showing fangs and antennae

Not a bad problem to have, if someone else is fighting ‘em.

The rakshasa is awesome, but the worm I'm digging too
Do you have something in a purple striped fiend?

No.

I've got a dreaded gazebo, just dying to meet you

What to do, what to do? [gasp]
A prize! That's it! There's really just one way
To find out which monster is best
Hold a contest of speed, attack, defense, and wit
That will put each beast to the test

Don't forget HP, that should be remembered

Then we'll know who’s best and who would get dismembered

The one who is mighty and cruel

Just like me
Can't settle for less, 'cause I'm the best

So a contest we will see

Who's the number one, vilest, villainous beast

In the world for me

May the games

Begin!

And may the best beast win!

I'd be willing to take a crack at it, but I wouldn't be available until late next week to even start recording. I'm house-sitting those few days, which means it's an opportunity for me to do some singing in private, rather than risking disturbing my upstairs apartment neighbors.

I'm thinking a typical Egor / Dr. Frankenstein combination there, in which case I'd be more partial to the Big Bad's roll, though I could certainly take a crack at an Egor-Shy.

In which case, since it'll be 10 days at the earliest, I'd need suggestions for voice recording software, and I'll see if I can't McGyver together a pop filter to work with my rock band mic for something at least passable.
