"Now now Dynamo, don't be a debbie downer just because I succeeded. Instead, help me find something I can make into a flag. If we play our cards right the powers will come to us instead of vice versa. You know I'm right." Fallen Arches says with a grin.

"Oh yes... They'll come... But then they come with armies of the likes we CANNOT fight or deal with. I'll be there to tell you "I told you so, this was a bad idea" and junk..." Dynamo retorts with a sigh.

"Did I ever say that I thought we could take them in a fight? The point here is now a matter of misdirection, give them a target they are concerned about and you can work a mole of sorts into their midst. Honestly, how could you not see that Dynamo? I thought you were supposed to teach me evil." Fallen Arches points out, dramatically.

"I never said I'd teach you, evil... And while I will admit you do have an alright plan there. I don't agree with it. I say it's way to risky." Dynamo replied. "And will lead to or at least, you, being the victim of a manhunt..."

Speaking of getting bored of candy.... Those of you who do require food and/or water have begun to notice that for the first time in a while that you're actually hungry and/or thirsty.

The Reaper felt surprise and fear when it felt hunger, though it wasn't sure whether it was more from the fact that this was the first time it felt hunger (being an embodiment of death and all) or that since it's physical form consists of a skull, a cloak and a scythe it didn't really have a way to deal with the hunger.
So it started to jiggle about in a panic.

Jingle Bell felt her stomach growl. "You gotta wonder, in a world like this, is it acceptable to eat the housing or is it just weird?" She looked at the Reaper. "...And what on Earth are you doing?"

"Um... You need to use the little colts room, reaper?" Dynamo asked, not sure what's with the Reaper's little jig. Then she turns to Jingle. "Oh I bet it's very weird to do so... Best to try looking for something else to eat other then the buildings."

Fallen Arches continues to eat his mess, then looks up "I just came up with my greatest idea yet for how to deal with the situation we're in! I'll tell you after lunch!" And then proceeds to get back to eating.

Re: A World, A Part

Post  AProcrastinatingWriter on Fri Feb 01, 2013 9:38 pm

Squinting up to the sky, Gnarl rotated his shoulders, the bark of which creaked and occasionally chipped off as he did. What was taking those sprouts so long in there, anyway?

The woodsman grumbled half-heartedly to himself, unable to rustle up the energy to break out in to an all-out mumbled rant. The sun was fine and dandy of course, but his body automatically saved a good portion of that energy for the nighttime, when he would need it more. The rest, though technically the majority of that energy, was not so filling that he did not require soil.

And this...whatever this brown stuff was below his rooted feet, was not soil. Gnarl grumbled some more at this fact before covertly looking around. Judging by how the locales had reacted so far, there was no real reason to give them, well, a reason to attack en masse and chop him up into firewood.

Not that firewood made from his body would ever burn, but it was the principle of the thing.

The tree bent slowly, as trees tend to do when forced to bend, and drew a small rune into the ground, heating it with light touches of flame as he did.

Spoiler:
Perception to check for nearby villagers, natives, etc.: 3(so much for my getting better results from my dice) + 8 (bonus) = 11.
Moderate Amount of Magical Aptitude (It's Witchcraft!) check, Arcana, to turn the chocolate beneath Gnarl's feet into nutrient-rich soil: 17(Nice!) + 8 (bonus) = 25.

Unknowingly agreeing with them, Gnarl sighs and sinks his toes into the warm, soft, nutritious soil 'neath his feet, eyes slowly drooping shut.
