Undead Templates
Apply the following templates to a previously existing monster/character.
Zombies
The simplest and, to be honest, most pathetic form of undead, zombies are little more then meat puppets governed by a basic magical program. In fact, some necromancers refuse to see them as undead, but only as tools. Still, when a rotted body just keeps coming after you, you don't have time to debate specifics.
Traits:
--Dead guy: The zombie starts out with five less hit points then it would have if it was alive.
--Skeletal: All attack have their damage reduced to one point, including ongoing damage. That is to say, a zombie will only ever lose one point of damage from ongoing damage.
--Headshot: A critical hit kills the zombie instantly.
--Meat puppet: Removing a zombie's controller kills it instantly. Note that the controller could be a specific person or an object in a fortress far away.
Attacks:
--Souless Stare: +2 PiP. A zombie... does nothing. This attack can only be used if a zombie was not attacked in the previous round.
--Braaaaaaaains: +1 PiP. A zombie deals 1d8 damage.
--Fast zombie: -4 PiP. A zombie attacks 1d4 times for 1d10 HP each.
--Virus: -2 PiP. A zombie deals 1d8 damage. The target has to make an endurance check of 20 DC, otherwise they gain 5 Vulnerability.
More to come!

Re: Undead Templates
um two things 1
would that be the activation of a special?
2
Headshot: A critical hit kills the zombie instantly

2
for normal ponies this would be fine 15 or 25 HP but with say a full blown dragon that is a lot more HP... prehaps change it to 1/4 less HPDead guy: The zombie starts out with five less hit points then it would have if it was alive.

You're mixing the stats with combat, when they're not supposed to interact like this.

Re: Undead Templates
thought I should put this here as this Page is almost dead itself
-Wight
The corpse of a powerful warrior revived by a necromancer by sacrificing the soul of a child. The Wight retains all memories, personality, and abilities of life.
Traits
-Impure Resurrection
Resist X for each attack where X equals one half of the attack roll (rounded up)
-Rise again
When killed in combat this creature will be restored to full health after 1D10 minutes.
-Soul release
After combat this creature may be killed permanently by either destroying the object which its soul is bound to always an object that is being carried by this creature (DC would correspond to the object as low as 5 for a piece of pottery to over 50 for an enchanted piece of armor) or by removing the enchantment keeping this creature alive DC at least 40

Re: Undead Templates
sorry for the double post but nothing much has been happening here
Dem bones
Beings made entirely of ossific material reanimated with magic. Better than normal zombies in that all weakness of the flesh has been removed. Weaker in that they are unable to see or hear. To quell this knid of unquiet undead requires total destruction of the body.
Traits
-Fleshless
has 1/4 HP of base creature
-Skeletal
All attack have their damage reduced to one point, including ongoing damage
-Eyeless stare
is always considered blind
-Perpetual Motion Monster
does not fall unconscious

Re: Undead Templates
Mmm.... I like "Dem Bones" I think I'm totally going to use it, or at lest something like it, in my own campaign.
They aren't meant to, but some GM's I think have their own rules with combat come to think about it.Videocrazy wrote:--Virus: -2 PiP. A zombie deals 1d8 damage. The target has to make an endurance check of 20 DC, otherwise they gain 5 Vulnerability.

Re: Undead Templates
Perhaps you could use saving throws instead?
