Hah, I like the Giant Robot Summoning. One critique I would make on you combat choices, you chose the Wild Abandon talent, and yet your only other move that it helps you with is Fireswath. For a more tactically sound choice, I would suggest getting [+Pip] attack.
Though, regardless of that, I enjoyed your name choices for your talents

Thanks. I aimed for a mix of goofiness and savvy with him. I think succeeded.

Ah, I think that works a lot better now. A fun support character with a Giant Robot. Awesome.
Support Characters and Debuffers are definitely my favourite characters to play as, I'd post mine, but then I'd have to set up Google Docs to do that.
EDIT: Oh, heck, I just went I put it up on Google Docs:

Heh. Our character would work great together. Yours an adventurer, and mine is an appraiser of antiquities.

Re: Character Sheets
Wow, a lot of these characters are Earth Ponies...
Given my experience in other games like DnD I'm quite surprised that there aren't considerably more pegasus and unicorn characters. Maybe equating the Earth Pony to humans in DnD was the wrong presumption. I wonder why so many choose Earth Ponies over being able to fly and use magic...

Where are all the earth ponies in the Sunday game I play in? We've dubbed ourselves "Team Unicorn", because with the exception of one Earth Pony, that's what we are.

Re: Character Sheets
Because as it stands, Earth Ponies' racial traits and racial utility traits are better than Unicorn or Pegasus (relatively speaking)SilentBelle wrote:Wow, a lot of these characters are Earth Ponies...

For instance, Pegasi have to take 2 utility traits just to have no penalties for skill checks while flying. And while Weather-Crafter is very flavorful, it hasn't got many uses. Sure, creating a hurricane might seem cool/powerful, but it takes 10 minutes prep time, I don't believe it can be used in battle and even if it can, just beating the enemy would be faster.
Flight is awesome. I mean, who doesn't want to fly? But in group, especially when there is a sole pegasus, it's useless. When are you using it? (and keep in mind the penalties)
If you fly up in the clouds, the party cannot follow you and you're essentially splitting the party. You can use it when chasing enemies or NPC's but if those are flying and the group is not, you're once again splitting the party. If those a grounded, flying loses its initial premise. I don't see many instances where a group could benefit from 1 member who can fly aside from getting things but that might just be me.
Unicorns get one free utility talent but most Unicorn utility talents are of limited use (daily, 2/day, 3/day, etc), need prep time or both. Compare with the Earth Ponies' free utility talent Freaky Knowledge, which gives a flat bonus to any 2 areas of expertise. And players just love flat bonuses. Also a lot of Unicorn utility talents are centered around moving things with magic. I'd be the first to jump to the chance of getting telekinesis but as we all know, Earth Ponies and Pegasi get by pretty good without the ability to lift 1000 pounds with one's mind.
Not to mention that Earth Pony specific utility talents either let you manipulate rolls (Longrunner), give flat bonuses (Applejack of all trades; No horn, no problem) or just plainly allow you to break the rules of the game (Twitchy Tail; Fracture the 4th wall; Pinkie Promise; Create crazy contraption)
I'm not saying that Earth Ponies are better than Unicorns or Pegasi per se, just that they have more interesting options to choose from (especially combat and skill (checks) related) and also the most min/max potential for those interested in that.
NOTE: all the above is game/skills related. Disregard if you're more interested in the role playing facet because numbers don't mean a whole lot for that.

Re: Character Sheets
*laughs* It's great to see Earth Ponies, which everyone was asking how we could possibly make appealing, have done so well.
Earth Ponies definitely have the strongest racials, that's by design, while the Pegasai's ability to fly is extremely useful and unicorns have incredible utility options. I think the races are at a good balance right now. We have 2 earth ponies, 1 pegasus and 2 unicorns in the Aspirations of Harmony campaign.

Re: Character Sheets
Mostly good, and obviously very well thought-out, but unfortunately you have a couple problems there.
Freaky Knowledge applies to skill checks, not in-battle stuff. For future reference, nothing that effects out-of-battle stuff can or should impact in-battle stuff, and vice versa. In addition, Freaky Knowledge: Musicology is giving you bonuses to two things, which is pretty blatantly against the rules...and I don't think "Stealth" is anywhere near specific enough to actually be allowed. The easiest way to fix these two issues is to remove Stealth from Freaky Knowledge and move your Musicology's Ocarina-playing to your second Freaky Knowledge slot.
Again, though, very well done. You've put a lot of heart into this character, and that's good in a game like this where words, rather than weapons, really are often the way to the end of the dungeon. I congratulate you on a first character well-done!

Yep, APW got it perfectly. This is a great character and there's just one mistake I can notice - the use of freaky knowledge. Great job!

Re: Character Sheets
First, let me say thank you for the constructive criticism. It really means a lot to me!
Admittedly, I was really unsure of how to handle Freaky Knowledge. I'm not sure why it gave me trouble. I knew if anything was wrong, it would be that. I've edited the sheet using APW's suggestion, only slightly altering the flavor text. Thanks again for that, by the way! So, everything should be okei-dokei-lokie, right?
Also, now might be a good time to clear up a few other things I'm unsure of.
Echo lets me make any sound, right, doesn't have to be a voice?
Do you pick your combat talents before or after the initiative roll?
Can I stack multiple ongoing damage effects (Draw Blood + Ignite)?
I think I get the rest of it well enough. I figure it's better to ask now, rather than wait until I'm in the middle of a campaign. And once again, thank you!
Edit: Forgot one. Fireborn doesn't protect me from fire-based magic attacks, I assume? Just natural fire and lava?

Re: Character Sheets
It really depends on the DM for if when you pick combat talents. Stairc has them roll and pick combat talents at the same time for example.
The way Echo is worded, I think it's any sound.
and I think Ongoing damage is whatever the highest afflicted on the person is.

Looks like it! Sharp is a great character and, let's be honest, absolutely adorable. Great job on setting up that dragon.

Yep!
Silver Soul wrote:Do you pick your combat talents before or after the initiative roll?
You pick combat talents after the initiative roll and after you've seen at least the first wave of what you'll be facing that combat. I like to give players as much information as possible so they can work it into their strategy.
Silver Soul wrote:Can I stack multiple ongoing damage effects (Draw Blood + Ignite)?
Sadly, only the highest instance applies. Otherwise that could get broken really fast if everyone stacked lots of ongoing damage talents on one guy.
Silver Soul wrote:Edit: Forgot one. Fireborn doesn't protect me from fire-based magic attacks, I assume? Just natural fire and lava?
Right. Combat Talents and Traits are the only things that ever affect in-combat performance. That way you can focus on choosing the roleplaying concepts you love without worrying about how they might affect your in-combat playstyle.

Re: Character Sheets
So. It's time.
Time for the very first LEVEL TEN CHARACTER SHEETS!
I've been waiting for this one! So, which characters did I choose to immortalize in the first of many character sheets? Well, one's already been done, and the other...hey, someone was gonna do it eventually.
Doctor Whooves
Derpy Hooves
Sorry if I'm stepping on any toes here, LoganAura, but I simply couldn't resist doing my own take on everyone's favorite muffin-loving mailmare!
