As for Kobolds, yep, they needed the leader alright Very Happy (I already gave the smaller Kobolds 4 Pips to start with. Maybe consider giving the leader a trait that gives Kobolds 1 pip at the start of their turn... either that or a way to sacrifice kobolds when they are out of pips. 'Cause when a Kobold has no pips (Aisde from the leader), it can't do anything, other than run. But if the leader has a trait that prevents the kobolds from running, well they can't do anything when they are out of pips.

Oh, and in case no one has noticed, I've marked which requests have been tested and added to the compendium, and which ones I have yet to do. These monsters are easier to test, since I'm not critiquing them too much, I'm merely measuring their danger rating with the stats you've given me and making sure their format is the same as all the others.

Trying my hand at a couple of demons.

Babau (Single) 35

Trait - Moderate Demon
Gain Resistance 3.

Trait - Acid Slime
Deal 3 damage to any enemy that attacks this demon. If they attack rolls a 1, they are instead dealt 5 damage.

Trait - Built for Battle
Starts the fight with 2 pips.

[+2] Designate Prey - Standard Utility
Target enemy gains Vulnerability 4 to your next attack.

[0] Knife Claws - Standard Attack
Target enemy takes 1d10 damage.

[-3] Invisible Assassin - Minor Utility
Enemies cannot target you with combat abilities until the end of your next turn.

[-4] Acid Coated Assassin Strike
Target enemy takes 4d8 damage, and ongoing 4 damage (save ends).

Style: Babau, being assassin demons, specialize in killing equal or lower number of enemies. First they designate their prey, then use their ACAS to deal massive damage and further weaken their foes. If cornered or outnumbered, they try to remain Invisible as much as possible, letting their allies handle the bulk of combat.

Hmm, well the idea of this thread is to fill up the compendium as quickly as we can with somewhat 'regular' monsters, so if I get a monster stat-block then I can test it and add it with less effort on my part. But of course I never like to say no to requests, and demons are one of the monsters I am aiming for.

So any ideas on what you want this psychological demon to have in terms of: Traits, stats, target danger rating, HP, certain combat abilities, general play style. Just list any sort of general ideas and I'd be happy to help make the monster, or maybe someone else will take a stab at it Smile I have a list of other monsters I need to go through first, but I'll definitely help anyone with their monster creations in my spare time.

Basically:

Psychological Demon- 45 HP
Trait- Metamorphopsychosis
The psychological demon, at the beginning of battle, chooses a target among its enemies; that target gains Vulnerability 5 to the demon, without a save, until the end of the battle.
[+X] Creep Bite
Deal 1d10 - X damage.
[+1] The Glint in your Eyes
Deal 1d10 and blind a target (save ends).
[-2] You Need Me
Flip a coin. On heads, target is dominated (save ends). On tails, deal 1d8 damage to self.
[-3] Deal with the Devil
Make an offer to an enemy. The target may accept or refuse. If accepting, they may automatically succeed on all save ends conditions. However, for every save ends condition they remove, the demon gains either Resistance 5 to attacks or 3 pips.
[-9] Mist of Vices
Enemy is stunned, dazed, blinded, weakened and suffers Vulnerability 3 and 3 ongoing damage.

two things first Gentleman you may want to change the HP of the demon as currently it is a bit high for a single

second Silent got this for you

Heavy Assault
this creature can always re roll 1s
[+3] Knockout standard attack
Target takes 1D6 damage and is dazed (save ends)
[+1]Breaking Punch standard attack
Target takes 1D12 damage and suffers 5 vulnerability (save ends)

Target and adjacents take 1D10 damage and increase any vulnerability they are suffering from by 1
[+1] Shockwave stomp standard attack
Up to six enemies take 1D6 damage and suffer 1D8 vulnerability

Trigger An enemy targets this creature with an attack that rolls multiple dice (ex 2D8 or 1D12+1D10)

Yeah I might tweak something on the monster after testing it... Darn it's dangerous, I'm actually interested to see if this move is too unfair against players. With an average of 26 damage... though it has a huge range. I might have to take the d20 damage out of there... because if someone has 4 vulnerability (not too unlikely with this monster) this move would do a bonus 24 damage, so that would be an average of 50 damage, which isn't too powerful with a Danger Rating of 6 for one turn. I'm intrigued by it Very Happy

Hmm, I like the idea, but the numbers will have to be tweaked I think... I have a few ideas...

Making Smallest form into a HP minion, givng these guys a trait that causes the enemy that kills it with an attack to take ongoing damage based on the creature's current regen. Make the regen 6 for all forms and resist 4. I also think we can do something really fun with Gerroff! That implies that the creature is stuck inside the mass. Reassemble should be a minor action that doubles this creature's regen value for a turn.

[-2]Engulf - Standard Utility
Target creature becomes dazed, takes damage equal to hit points this Gelatinous Mass gains. The targeted creature can only use the following combat talent on it's turns or until it is no longer dazed.

[0] Struggle - Minor Utility
Flip a coin, if the result is heads you are no longer dazed, if the result is tails, you suffer 1d6 damage.

I think that could do it Smile

Technically it's a +infinite talent, and I have a plan for it:

New Demon, coming up!

Quasit (single) 13hp

Trait Minor Demon
Gain Resistance 1

Trait Natural Chamelion
Enemies must flip a coin when attacking a Quasit as if they were blinded, but only for attacks that specifically target it. The target is no actually blinded.

[0] Poison Sting Standard Attack
Target takes Ongoing 4 damage, save ends.

[0] Scratch Standard Attack
Deals 1d6 damage to target

Quasit are meant to be used in mixed groups with more overtly powerful enemies to present a Catch 22 scenario. If you focus on the Quasit, you can kill it quick but your attack has a 50/50 chance of doing nothing and being a waste, letting the bigger nasty be free to attack where it hurts. On the other hand, if the PCs focus on the brute, the Quasit is free to deal steady damage all around the party and kill the slowly but surely. Splitting the party's focus might work, or it might leave you with a lightly damaged brute and a few misses on the Quasit. They're ment to be "those annoying ^#€?%>!" that players dread facing.

Except for the fact that multi-target attacks will destroy it without having to flip a coin. It won't make it the annoying bunchofsymbols that you said they are meant to be, but it will make some players mix up their strategy up for fights with them, which I am all for...

Target takes 1D8 ongoing damage for two of it’s turns
[-1]Smash
Target takes 2D8 damage and increase any ongoing damage that they are suffering from by 2
[-5] Prince of Snakes
Target takes 1D20 ongoing damage and suffers a -5 to saving throws. (save ends both)
Rateing ???

Sweet, I like it.

Also I tested out the ogre and tweaked it slightly. Made it's second turn a minor action (essentially giving it a free turn), and I chopped off the d20 in it's crazy rampage.

It's at a danger rating of 2.5 currently. If you want it changed in any way let me know Smile
