A No-Longer-So-Tragic Announcement

This morning, at 11:56 am, Karilyn - better known as Inky Quills or Hallowed Heart - took her own life. Having long struggled against an ocean of sadness, Karilyn delighted many of us with her wonderful writing and inspiring roleplaying. She was a talented author, having written the first ever Pony Tales session summaries that delighted so many readers on the Friendship is Dragons forums. She also breathed life into some of the most popular combat talents in the system, including Gather Energy and Wild Abandon. Karilyn also created the architecture for our forums, colored the illustration that is displayed above as our banner and was one of the first four players to ever try a system called Pony Tales. Without her support and enthusiasm, it's possible that we would have never developed this system further than the single adventure it was originally intended to be. You can see her character, Inky Quills, as the orange pony with the purple mane in the lower right hand corner of the image. Karilyn has touched us all, her character's image now a sweet memorial to her - etched forever into the game we love.

The streets of heaven are brightened by another angel tonight. But the ache that infects those friends that knew her pales to the tragedy of those that did not have the fortune to know her better.

We love you Karilyn. Thank you for everything.

Thank Celestia! It seems that the person informing me of her passing got a little ahead of themselves - and I've never been so grateful for being misinformed.

This is all I can think to best express my feelings on this issue.

I just can't find the words... My thoughts go out to her as a empathetic silence. I may not have known her well, but she will be missed.

I find myself in the same boat as SilentBelle; I cannot think of anything to say. From everything I could hear, her life was improving greatly. For this to happen... it shouldn't have happened. It is a tragedy beyond words. Rest in peace, Karilyn.

I... I just don't know what to... *sigh*

Rest in peace, Karilyn. May you somehow find the solace that eluded you in life.
