Yes, by trying to instate what you think harmony means, what you think positive actions mean, what you think friendship in a group. means.

Other people have different ideas about what it is, and you should respect that. Someone else think an evil act could be considered harmonious? Let them. It's their DM's job to deal with it. Drop it.

*facepalm* Your perception of the rules.
Conversation over and done with- if you insist on pushing your idea of how the game should be (And yes, it is your. Even Dan, the creator, rewarded a negative action in befriending a succubus who's intent was to betray the party with harmony. She fully intended to betray them, and we knew it.), I /will/ have to deal with it since it's one of the rules not to push your idea.

So, back on the topic of achievements.
In ponysona, I guess we can consider the Social Links this sort of thing, achievements and such for the game...
I do like the idea, but think it'll need some tweaking to keep everyone at the same level of power.

Hm... good point.
I do think that people should, at the very least, not only give Achievements to one party member if they do this.
Spreading the achievements to things that the different party members are good at would be a good way for that. Some achievements for learning about the town with streetwise, and finding some secret, or pulling off a sonic X boom por the like.

They can even be battle based. Like a healer, healing so much health either in one session, or overall. Or a defender taking so much damage that others would of taken.

Well, then it needs quite a bit of editing. Combat/rp is supposed to remain seperate, which is why Combat Destinies, Utility items using Combat Gold, and things like that have sort of been pushed aside.
I'd say Achivements for Out of Combat, and acomplishments for in combat with different points and such just to keep them seperate.

Person, I don't mind there being a singular connection between the two. Through having points for combat achievements, and points for non-combat achievements can also work very well.

Technically the systems for Achievements for out of combat and combat don't need a separate name. What needs separate names is the pool of points you have for spending in each. This would allow whacky stuff like you getting an achievement during combat that gave you out of combat achievement points and vice versa. Which isn't a break in the divide since the awarding of points doesn't actually itself have an effect on either side's mechanics. Mind you, you probably shouldn't go overboard with that and have people only (or mostly) get their out of combat points from combat stuff and vice versa. Then you'd just be making a system of bizarre and unnecessary constraints upon the way people play. (Of course that's a risk with this entire concept, so you always have to be careful to avoid that.)

These are all pretty good suggestions, though some of them seem rather familiar (as in, I proposed several of them early in the thread).

The key thing to remember about this system is that is isn't meant to be an officially sanctioned thing. It can't be put in the rule book in any way except as a suggestion, and everything is up to the DM as an option. So those issues are for the DM to work around. If the DM thinks its ok for a bridge between combat and non-combat (like I do), then they can go all out. If not, then they can keep them split, or do one or the other. If they don't think they can handle doling out achievements fairly, then they stick to party-wide. Or they don't use it. Or do use it, but only in name, like Logan said, though this is meant to be a reward system, and no one thinks a "Good Job" Sticker is a decent reward.

DM's will always houserule or veto aspects of the official system they don't like, and often implement their own ideas instead. It's going to happen. I'm doing it, obviously. So while we all know all the ways we can cut this and restructure it to make it more balanced or more fair, what I'd like to see are more suggestions for the rewards, beyond what I have- more options.

And, crazy or cool ideas for specific achievements, if you have them.

Oh, achievement/reward ideas? Personally I've found that achievements are best personalised to specific, well, achievements based on the characters and situations involved.

As far as rewards go, though, my own personal rule is to observe niche protection - if you give a boost, it should go to: A. The current specialist in that ability, B. An ability that nobody has chosen to specialise in, or C. The furthest character from challenging the current specialist in that ability.

Achievements:

Waste not, want not - Empty your pip allotment using sequential [-] attacks, rolling no less than half of the maximum die value on every die rolled as part of those attacks. (min. 3) - Immediately refresh to 4 PiPs or half the pips spent, rounding down, whichever is lower.

You may have found religion - Survive an attack that reduces your hp by over 25 hit points at the end of that turn. - Receive a single use of Endure Pain (per Iron Shield)

They call you 'The Hurricane' - Succeed in an important and difficult task in a particularly weak skill. - Receive a permanent +1 to the skill OR a persistent magic point that may be spent at any time.

Ten years from now somepony will tell you how you changed their life when they were little and you'll feel old - Perform a cutie mark critical at a dramatic moment - Congratulations!
