Which I believe makes it a lot more flexibility and powerful. So we'll be seeing it more. Excellent.

"Stepping stones" is now all metric. Technically, they got thinner, but the point is they aren't very thick.
Furthermore, you can make them small in diameter, because eh, why not?
Thanks for the feedback so far guys, and I'm glad you like the stuff!

How are multipart submissions handled? For instance, utilities with prerequisites or new races with new racials. Would that be two submissions or just one?

I hate to nitpick, and it's great that it's internally consistent now, and as a scientist I prefer metric myself, but considering the rest of the system is in Imperial units...Kindulas wrote:"Stepping stones" is now all metric. Technically, they got thinner, but the point is they aren't very thick.

This one's probably just stupid, buuuuuuut:
[?]Wabbajack- Standard Utility
Activate one Combat Talent from the Official List, at random, without paying its pip cost.
I don't know what kind of pip cost to put on that.
Probably attach a note that says how many there are for quick reference. I count 189, I think, talents in the official Combat Talents list (give or take, given the way they group talents again at the bottom of the doc), + however many were in that last expansion (if they weren't added to the list yet), + any others that are added in further weekly updates.
So like I said, stupid. But it would be neat to have a version that isn't.

True, it doesn't actually work because that'd be next to impossible to roll on and tedious to use, but it is hilariousBronymous wrote:This one's probably just stupid, buuuuuuut:

Actually, most (or at least 1) online rollers let you type in the die, so you can easily roll 1d189. The only problem then would be finding the right one on the list, but if you use the handy numbers by each section, then you can add up and find it pretty quick, I think. Well, maybe not pretty quick, but doable.

Re: New Expansions - New Content - Post your favorites here
Alright, new submissions time!
- Animorph:
- Animorph - 2/day
Preparation time: 2 minutes
You may transform a willing creature into another creature of similar size and same genus/type for 1 hour (e.g. you may turn a sparrow into a parrot). The creature keeps its personality, knowledge, and magical abilities, but may lose (or gain) racials/utilities, depending on the transformation. The creature retains some of its identifying features, allowing a DC20 perception check to recognize the identity of transformed creature, if known beforehand. Additionally, you may expend a magic point during transformation, to either allow a transformation of differing sizes (e.g. turn a lion into a cat), OR a transformation into a similarly-sized creature of different type (e.g. a pony into a griffon). Transformation types/genus, particularly for "mixed" creatures (e.g. griffons) are subject to DM discretion.
- Attuned with Death:
- (1) Attuned with Death
Creatures of your race can see ghosts, spirits of the recently deceased, and other forces of death in their vicinity. They are automatically made aware of the presence of any dead, or undead, or necromantic forces and entities within 50 feet of them. In addition, whenever they or an ally they can see enter (or are about to enter) an immediately life-threatening situation, they are made aware of it.

Here's an odd item idea, to hopefully round off the 500 gold level items:
[Name] - 500 gold [inspired by Ramsus]
Armor
Gain Resist 1 while you have temporary HP.
[Name] - 500 gold
Trinket
Once per day, you may reroll your initiative with a +5 bonus.

Do you have a combat talent thread anywhere? Might try to brainstorm a bit for it.

I don't think counting to 189 is ever going to be easy, but you could make it easier by making a separate table that just lists the names of the talents under the number - and jumping to the right number. On the other hand, you could make a selection of 20 different effects or so specifically for the talent that it can trigger - so it's a smaller number of things. Or, maybe, you might let the player choose which talents to comprise a smaller subset. Perhaps have them choose 10 talents that, when you total up their pip costs, cancels out to 0 (so you don't have peple just choosing -10 ultimates).

Re: New Expansions - New Content - Post your favorites here
I think the table is a good idea, though you'd still have to go in to the official list to find what the talent does. Building a customized set would mean that wabbajack itself would need a [-] pip cost, because people will only build that up out of the most useful talents, probably a few heavy attacks evened out by several really good [+] talents.
And while we're discussing this, here's something in the same vein-
Wheel! Of! VIOLENCE!- Trinket- 1500
Once per battle, you may use the following combat talent-
[0] Spin the Wheel- 1/Battle- Immediate Interrupt
Trigger: You roll initiative.
Reaction: Randomly select one Combat Trait from the official list. You have that trait until the end of combat. If that trait has a prerequisite that you do not already have, then you take the prerequisite instead.
I made it 1500, because for 2000 you could have a trait you definitely want, while this will most likely give you a trait you don't need- but since most traits are fairly beneficial, its still worth it to some.
P.S. I'm almost certain there's another talent/item/something called Spin the Wheel, but I couldn't think of anything else to use. Maybe a Dreidel.

Re: New Expansions - New Content - Post your favorites here
Still not sure if a utility and prerequisite are counted as one submission or two for the week. Tried to polish this up and submit though the race needs the utilities so it's subject to the approval of at least the first one.
- Utility - Digging:
- Burrower
You may dig through dirt and sand with a -5 penalty to skill checks made for digging. This leaves behind a tunnel and you have a vague sense of direction to places you've already been to though Perception checks may be required for finding a new location.
Earth Mover
Prerequisite: Burrower
You may travel through dirt, sand, clay, and rocky soil with no penalties. Furthermore, you may close any tunnels you're currently in at will.
- Pony Tales Race - Diamond Dogs:
- Burrower (2)
You may dig through dirt and sand with a -5 penalty to skill checks made for digging. This leaves behind a tunnel and you have a vague sense of direction to places you've already been to though Perception checks may be required for finding a new location.
Sharp Eyes (1)
Characters of your race gain a +3 bonus to perceptions checks to notice physical details. For
example, noticing a tiny crack in the wall would gain benefit from this, but things that require
mental insight - figuring out if someone is lying, for instance - would not.
Call Out (1) – At Will
You let out a loud call. Choose one
A) Name any number of creatures that could recognize your voice. They hear your howl
automatically and know how far away from them you are and in what direction.
B) Every creature within one to ten miles (your choice) hears the call and knows where you
are in relation to them. You make make it clear whether or not your call is meant as a warning,
distress call, etc.
Stockpile ("Predestined") (4)
After each extended rest you may roll three d20s. These die results are “stored” until you expend
them when using the following talent, or until after your next extended rest (when they are
replaced by the three new rolls).
Cache ("I Make My Own Fate") - Interrupt 3/day
Trigger - You make a skill check and dislike the result.
Effect - Treat the die as though you had rolled one of the stored die results. This expends the
chosen roll. For example, if you rolled a natural 1 - you could trade it out for the natural 20 you
were lucky enough to roll at the end of your last extended rest.

Some more ideas, cause why not
- Blinding Egg:
Blinding Egg
1/day
You throw a hollowed out egg filled with powder or glass(Sugary or otherwise) into the face of a creature. They become blind(-15 to perception checks and -5 to all other checks) until they can find a way to clean out their eyes and are unable to focus on anything else until they do.
- Corrupting Darkness:
Corrupting Darkness
2/day
You now have the power to corrupt the world around to you a small extent. Corrupt a small object for the next hour you can see so that it either refuses to work or does the opposite of what it’s meant to do(DMs Digression I guess). Corrupted objects turn a darker shade of their normal color and it takes an Arcana check of DC 25 to change them back again. For example corrupting a switch means you could never turn it on; corrupting a painting would change the bright happy picture into something more dark and eerie.

Re: New Expansions - New Content - Post your favorites here
Why does the diamond dog race have only 7 racial points?
As for the egg, calling the effect "blind", then giving it a static value (that none of the other blinding talents have) is just going to lead to confusion. Same thing as with Spider Climb (enchant/racial/undefined vagueness on whether you can stick to surfaces), really...

Re: New Expansions - New Content - Post your favorites here
Gave myself till Tuesday to think of something else.
Here's two Destinies:
Here's two Destinies:
- Beastkin:
L4: Animal Companion
You find that you share a kinship with animals above and beyond that of normal folk. You may spend an hour to form a bond with a small or medium sized creature, with 4 points worth of traits from the Genetic Engineering document. The creature has 8 points in one skill, and 4 in all others.
Once bonded, you gain the Animal Speak utility talent for this creature, even if you do not meet the prerequisites. Only one bond can be formed at a time.
When the bond is first formed, or during an extended rest, you may grant (or remove from) the bonded creature up to three utility talents that you have access to, but you will lose access to these talents while it has them.
If your companion creature dies, you will regain access to the borrowed utility talents after an extended rest. Only after this may a new bond be formed.
L7: Animal Kin
Your sense of familiarity with your animal companion (and with animals in general) has grown even further. You will instinctively know the relative position of your bonded companion, can use Animal Speak even with creatures you are not bonded to and your animal companion gains 2 points to spend on racial talents.
Additionally, you no longer lose access to utilities granted to your companion, though you still share the same use limit.
L10: True Bond
There is no longer any meaningful separation between you and your bonded companion. You may share thoughts and see through each other’s eyes at will and your companion gains access to all your utility talents, while you gain access to it’s racial talents.
In addition, you may now bond Large creatures, and gain access to the following utility talent:Switch the Selves - 2/day
Preparation time: 30 seconds
You and your animal companion may switch places within a range of up to 60 feet.
This switch is instantaneous and cannot be blocked, though you cannot switch into a
place that is too small to contain you.
- Traverser:
L3: Parkour
You’re the kind of person who just cannot sit still. Moving around is just what you do.
You gain access to the Spider Climb and Feline Grace racial traits, and gain a +10 to skill checks made to traverse any terrain.
L7: Parkata Urubatsu
Ahh, the freedom to go where you will! Granted, you still have some physical limitations, but it isn’t easy to prevent you access to places you want to go.
Your bonus from Spider Climb now totals +20 and works for any skill check related to vertical movement. Additionally, you gain access to the following utility talent:Can’t keep me out - 1/day
Preparation time: 1 minute
Door blocking your path? Gate barring your way? Chained down and helpless?
Not for long. On activation, you may open any non-magical lock or restraint within 30 feet.
L10: Master of Movement.
Nothing stops you from going where you will. Walls, doors, sheer cliffs... They can’t hold you in. They can’t hold you out. Hell, they barely even slow you down. Apart from your usual climbing prowess, you can now run across the surface of fluids without falling in and can stick to any surface with a +5 bonus.
You also gain the Phase Step utility talent, and may use it at will.

I really like the concept of the level 4 Beast-Kin feature. It's a little too powerful for a level 4 feature (4 racial traits plus other stuff is more than equal to the 2 utility talent base level 4 and 7 features are supposed to be equal to) but the concept works *really* well and is just freakin' cool. We definitely need something like that in the system.

I think I recall tossing some ideas on having pets (one for everyone in the party) being worked in as a boon, in another thread, ages ago. Could be a nice option for those who don't want to rely on a destiny for such a feature. After all, the Mane Six had a pet each.

Yeah, but a pet-boon lessens how special a pet-destiny or utility talents would feel.

I counted the 4 racials as being worth a little less, as your character itself doesn't get access to them until level 10. Then again, you do get a bunch of stuff just as required secondary powers.
making all pet attributes 4 and/or downgrading the animal speak to empathy might go a long way in that

I need to proofread better. I had built it differently and still had things based off of that. The digging skill should be 2 points rather than 1.
