Lyre sighed, a bit disappointed in the news but understanding. "I suppose it can't be helped. Ah well, what's this show all about?" He said. As if I couldn't tell from the outfit... He thought to himself, trying not to ruin a potential partnership with his inner remarks.

During the conversation, Smoke Screen remains silent in the front of the crowd, snapping photographs whenever the opportunity arises, even if the show hasn't started yet. After all, who knows what kind of spin will be put on the article. Any picture could be useful. The magician seems to have noticed him though...

Lyre examined the card then looked around the stage with a sly grin. "How about a business proposal? I'll supply music to accompany your act, and in return I gain a small cut of the profit." He then paused for a bit, holding his chin in a way of showing thought that only performers used. "Let's say... 5%."

Persuasion roll: Convincing. 15 + 16 = 31
(Just doing this in-case it actually does take a roll.)

Eclair giggles a little into her hoof. "Oui, I suppose it might be that I am the first since it was completed. Perhaps it did not have a roof yet to cover their poor aching heads." She tilts her head noticing Cloudcast becoming defensive and pats her back with a wing. "There there mon amie! We are only...how you say...being le fools with you! It is what friends do no?"

Heartfelt gently punches the other earth pony. "Yeah, we're just fooling around. I'm sure your house is more than safe! And those lunabelles look really nice on the side!"
She stops for a beat, smiling at her friend, before continuing in a sing-song voice. "On another hoof, I brought the payment~"

Cloudcast shakes her head at the tag team teasing and her ears perk up at the mention of the payment. "Oh, good! Rei, please go fetch that for me wouldya?" Whereupon Rei does so. "Thanks for this Stitch. I wasn't sure where to get it myself."

"I had to stop at a whole bunch of places to actually get enough to fill the cooler." She sits back and starts tapping one hoof on the other, counting fingers that don't exist. "A whole bunch from the college...some from the 'Food Barrel'...and topped off by...'Lemongrab' I think it's called. And that little store off the roundabout. What'd ya need so much of it for anyway?"

Heartfelt pouts a little, but relents with a sigh saying "Fiiiiiine. Could you bring out the bed then? Quilted might be a heavy sleeper, but she's not going to sleep forever."
As that thought begins to settle in her mind, the possibility of Quilted simply not waking up ever instills enough fear to compel Heartfelt to add in a mumble, more to herself than her companions, "...yeah. Won't sleep forever."

Heartfelt just stares at Cloudcast for a moment, blinking slowly a few times before the words hit her. "...what? Right! That'd be wonderful!...sorry, I'm a little frazzled; this past week's been pretty stressful."
Turning to the Prench pegasus, she blushes and nods, "Thank you. Please feel free to join us; it should be a pretty big event! I've taken care of most the preparations already, but haven't found a good place that makes cakes yet. Don't suppose you know anypony around town who'd bake one on such short notice and on the cheap?"

Smoke Screen doesn't remember hearing anything about the pegasus, but he does recall hearing rumors of a baby dragon who plays the lyre around town for loose change. There was also a small rumor about a city official looking for a baby dragon matching this one's description.

"Really? You'd do that? That'd be awesome!" Heartfelt does a little dance in place, before reaching into her saddlebag and pulling out an invitation.
"Cece's probably got hers lying around somewhere, but here's an extra just in case. For the time and date, whose birthday it is, how old she's turning. That sort of information. Could you make like an...orange cake? Not anything with maple syrup...I don't know if that's used in baking." Heartfelt scrunches her face a little.

With a beat of her wings she lifts into the air, nearly bolting outside before stopping and hovering in place for a moment looking towards Cloudcast. "Would you like me to pick up anything on the way? Perhaps you'd like to come too?"
