Re: Where have all the rainbow factories gone?
The crowed erupts with a mix of laughter and applause. The stallion so propositioned looks startled, looking to the other end of the restaurant for approval before looking quizzically back at Meadowlark. Finally deciding on an approving nod, he grabs a nearby waitress, a deep orange earth pony mare, to order his cider. But before letting her go, he again looks across the way, and points over his shoulder, a question on his face. Very few ponies see the stern pegasus mare wave him on.
The stallion finishes speaking to the waitress, and then signals towards the patio, with a "follow me" motion of his head, before stepping outside.
A unicorn the color of blue cauliflower, or a dark periwinkle, approaches Seiko and Flarestar. Speaking in mix of menacing growl and playfulness, he says "You have something to do with this, don't you? Always in the middle of things. Well! Enjoy your meal. I'm going to go make sure no criminal behavior happens outside, hmm?" And with that, he starts moving in the direction of the patio door.
The mare, who gave approval, is currently trying to fly despite the low ceiling, scanning the crowd for ... the rest of her companions, perhaps?

"How rude, do you know anything about this 'in the middle' statement Flarestar? I'm beginning to regret coming to such an establishment, even with the wonderful singing."

"Well, the food is excellent. Ooh, I have a great idea! You know what this music needs? A lovely, tasteful display of pyrotechnics!"

Obviously, after her performance, Meadowlark couldn't just go over to the patio. The next ten or so minutes were spent signing autographs, posing for pictures, and brushing off questions about her earlier statement with "Oh, I just thought he looked lonely and wanted to cheer him up." Meadowlark didn't know how much they bought that, but was able to keep from answering any further. Eventually, she reached the bar, and bought the cider, and headed out towards the patio.

And then everything went to heck.
The pegasus mare, flying as high as the ceiling allowed, shrieked suddenly loudly and fearfully, exclaiming "Class aye device, portal caster fugitive! She's about to get away dagnabbit!"
From somewhere behind the kitchens' door, a male griffon voice rings out in distress. "Emerald! Dear Heart, run child!"
From the patio, several customers are knocked aside as the stallion sipping his free cider tosses his table to run pel-mel back inside, and then get smacked in the face by a fleeing customer, an earth pony stallion, who had been reaching for the door and landed on the PPP agent instead.
At the same time several customers are heard to shriek wordlessly as they fall unconscious to the floor. There's a flash as four scrawny, armored pegasi appear out of nowhere at each "corner" of the rounded interior. One is already in battle with the snarky unicorn stallion who had not yet made his way to the patio door. Arcane strikes flash brightly in the enclosed space.
Two bolts fly past the mare, who drops onto Seiko & Flarestar's table, nearly breaking it with her rough landing. Her business attire is gone, the illusion dissapated in favor of a profane mockery of royal armor which seems to writhe about her form as if alive. "Make your choice now, magic users. The fight has come to you and there shall be no portals this time!"
She flies back to the ceiling, and a bolt hits her, illuminating her terrible protection in a brief flash of brilliance, to which she pays no mind as her eyes close, and she directs her armor to exude a wicked crossbow seemingly made from her own blood ... her right foreleg dripping red onto the tables below.

I need to create a map, but to the left is the pushy mare, and to the south of that are some booths with a fugitive. To the north is the other fugitive shooting arcane bolts at her.
In the middle, is Seiko / Flarestar. One of the 'appeared' fugitives is near the wall to the north of those two; I'm currently picturing Meadowlark as a table or two east of that, near the snarky unicorn, who's pinned a fugitive to the pegasus stallion they came in with, who's blocking the patio door right now.
Speed is halved because there are shrieking ponies and unconscious ponies everywhere so it's all difficult terrain. No one has seen the portal casting unicorn. Nor, oddly, the griffon proprietor.
If you'd like to roll for initiative, let me know what you intend as your first action and I'll paint the picture once everyone's gone, perhaps.
