The Blight Hounds continue their assault, one hound darting forward and slashing at Ghost Tracker with its blades for 4 damage. Another heads for the fiery-axe-wielding Bellator, flicking its blades for 5 damage.

Post  Fury of the Tempest on Thu Sep 26, 2013 5:33 am

Paladin calmly assessed the situation as he defended himself from the blade's of these monsters, using his sword to deflect the attacks aside or fully block them if need be, through the second attack was harder to do so than the first. When he had a moment's respite, he created a layer of Ki over his body to further help himself defend against the monsters as he spoke out in a commanding voice. "Stand firm, through they are many, we are strong, and we will withstand!" Following this deceleration, Bellator and Aparix would find themselves having stronger defenses than before, either by moving quicker or having reinforced armour.

Turn:
[+3] Ki Armour, 1d4 Temp hit-points, rolled a 3.
Inspiring Presence: Shielding Presence. Bellator's Resist increased by 2, Aparix gains Resist 1.

Status:
Health: 22
PiP's: 7
Status 3 THP, building up for the Golem.

The next wave of Blighthounds begins their assault - one goes for Bellator, but its attack is nullified by the Lokira's defenses. Another, snarling, heads straight for the Blightscorned, and slashes with both blades for 6 damage.

Then the Alpha makes its move. Noting the effect Paladin has on his allies, the Alpha charges straight towards him, though its bite is thwarted by the man's Ki-enhanced defenses, merely inflicting 2 damage.

[N.B. - last attack on Bellator, I didn't take into account his resist, so he actually took 3 damage, not 5. Meanwhile, it's Ghost Tracker's turn!]

Ghost Tracker gives a sharp hiss in pain at the cuts and says, "Hmm, the darkness gives you an advantage you think? Let's see if we can darken your vision a bit then." and she skitters around the battefield throwing and kicking dirt and gravel in the eyes of the blighthounds.

Combat:

[-1] LEEEROOOY JEEEENKINSS! - Minor Utility
You let out a taunting and idiotic shout. All enemies suffer a -5 penalty to damage on attacks that do not include you as a target until the end of your next turn.

[-3] Hide & Seek (Blast From The Past) - Standard Utility
You cease to exist and can take no actions until the start of your next turn. While you do not exist, you cannot affect any creature and no creature can see or affect you in any way. At the start of your next turn, you reappear and deal 1d12 damage to target creature and all creatures adjacent to it.

One of the Hounds attempts to strike at Aparix, but the sand in its eyes prevents it from doing any damage. Another one tries a different strategy - it circles around Zakhar, attempting to flank him, causing him to suffer 1 Vulnerability (save ends)

[Bellator's turn, followed by Aparix!]

"Is that all you got, beasts!? I asked for fury, not annoyance!" Bellator laughed even as he was hit, the adrenaline from the fight meaning he felt no pain at all as he continued his assault, leaping at the hound he'd struck before and hacking away at it with his axe, the flames building around the weapon as he built up momentum for something bigger...! "Come on, right here!!"

Combat Info!:

Gained additional Resist 2 from Paladin
Regenerated 3 HP.

Talent used:
[+3] Fireslash – Standard Attack

Save vs Ongoing: 14, 18: Success!

Despite the swing going wide, Aparix still jumped back by reflex, almost tripping over a root coming from the ground. He breathed out a gentle breath, regaining his footing and looking upon the near-mauling of the wolf that had just tried to off him. "Well, that'll do it, huh?" he asked nobody in particular, slowly raising his weapon once again.

Zakhar's first blow is a mighty one, and the hound drops to the ground, unmoving.

[Hound E has been slain by your first attack, would you like to redirect the second one? Or is that not how it works?]

The hound alpha takes the blow with a snarl. Meanwhile, hounds B and D make their moves - hound B circles around Bellator, giving him 4 Vulnerability (save ends), and flanking him so that hound D charges in unseen, inflicting 5 damage with its blades.

Paladin was grateful for his shield when the alpha struck at him, although the shield didn't take the full force of the attack, it allowed him to deflect the attack with minimum effort. He kept attention to his surrounding's, smiling when he saw the hammer-wielding nightchild drop one of the beasts. "That's it, one by one, we can outlast these beasts!" He encouraged, reinforcing Bellator and Aparix once more. At the same time he gathered ki together and using his Gift passed it on to Zakhar, giving him an energy boost to keep on fighting.

Shielding Presence, Bellator's Resistance increases by 2, Aparix gains Resist 1.

The next pair of hounds leaps to the attack, one hound attacking Bellator, or trying to (attacking with sand in one's eyes is sort of difficult), the other circling around Paladin, inflicting Vulnerability 2 (save ends) on him.

The Alpha, meanwhile, takes a step back and lets out a long, slightly wet howl, at which the other Blighthounds seem energized, their bloodlust redoubled.

Bellator laughed as he was hit, staggering a bit and leaping off his target, beginning to spin...Around...And around, and around, the flames on his axe growing until he resembled a flaming whirlwind, at which point he launched himself into action, rebounding off several of the blighthounds in the wild attack. He came out of the spin, wheeling to look for a target...The Alpha, of course! He leapt at it, hurling his axe at it and focusing...It spun like a buzzsaw, slicing at the beast's eyes before the Lokira dashed by, retrieving it...While it was only for a moment, the flames and blood from the follow-up should be more than enough to keep the thing swinging at air! "Eh, heh...AHAHAHAHA!! NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!! BURN!! ALL OF YOU!!! I'll send you back to your goddess as a handful of ashes!!" Though, he didn't seem to notice he was still rather flanked from the charge...Or perhaps he simply didn't care.

The Alpha goes down hard, as Bellator's wave of flame sweeps over the pack, as does one of its underlings, their pelts still ablaze. The rest of the pack is still standing, but barely.

[Blazing Blade took out the leader, so you're welcome to target another hound if you wish. Hound F is also down.]

Aparix dodged under both the wolf's attack and Bellator's wild axe swings. "Well, we don't do things halfway around here, do we?" he asked, this time Bellator specifically, as he shot at a passing wolf.

Hound G snarls and then charges forth, its blades making a dual strike at both the foe who attacked it and the foe who slew its alpha. Despite its best efforts, it misses Bellator completely, but it's still able to nick Aparix for 5 damage.

Post  Fury of the Tempest on Fri Sep 27, 2013 9:19 pm

"Impressive." Paladin said, as he watched his fellow fighter's take down the horde they faced. The furious assault that the crazy-guy launched was by far the most impressive attack, taking down the alpha and another canine, while heavily injuring the others. "My turn." He declared as the runes of his sword ignited, holding it in front of him, second hand against the flat of the sword.

"Face the power of fire given life!" He yelled as he focused his power, Ki, Gift and runes all coming together for a powerful spell, a rune of fire tracing itself in the air infront of him, before a golem of fire formed from it. Once it was formed, it swept a wave of fire across the hounds.

Turn:
[-9] Summon Fire Golem
[+3] Blazing Blade. 8 damage to all enemies.

Howling and yelps of pain could be heard as another wave of flame swept across the hounds' ranks. This time, only two were left standing - F and G. F seemed to be particularly badly wounded, flames all but scorching away its ragged pelt. Hound G, meanwhile, charged at Paladin, inflicting 7 damage in its fury.
