Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
(Dusk, can you please have the damage is brackets or spoilers? Having the damage said in the actual RP is very jarring. I mean, you don't see any of us saying how much damage we do)
Paladin was surprised at this sudden assault, and though he managed to deflect some of the attacks, the beast managed to slip past his defenses and leave a cut across his arm, drawing blood.
(Paladin is now bloodied)

Having a good view of the battlefield now from her vantage point and having had time to get a sense of the hounds' movements, Ghost Tracker starting diving down at them and hopping back into the air in a series of disruptive feints.

"Come on, too hot to handle!? Embrace the pain, mongrels!" Bellator was absolutely giddy right now as his foes died around him, looking around at the others to see if they were enjoying this as much as he was...But there were still more to kill...He focused on the stronger-looking one, charging forward, dashing past it and slashing with his axe, searing the wound to cause it even more agony, he didn't figure it would last longer, laughing as he turned to face his foes once more.

- Spoiler:
- I was going to wait on the results of that last attack but this has gotten kind of long so
Another shot went flying by, hitting a hound in the eye as Aparix, with thiefy speed, dodged a swift strike that would bleed him out, or at least cause him pain, and so the monster swiftly gained a new hole twixt eyes filled with dread...only question, was it dead?
- Spoiler:
- Same move, same result on Hound F - that's 6 damage.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The shot hits the hound square-on, a solid headshot. Its movement halts for a moment, and then it collapses to the ground.
The last remaining hound, takes a long look around itself, then snarls, refusing to back down. It then charges at Bellator... and manages to miss him completely and hit the cart nearest him.

- Spoiler:
- Hound F has been slain, and Hound G is pretty much helpless due to Marona's little build. You all may finish it off at your leisure.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Still on fire, the last hound doesn't take Zakhar's last blow well. It stumbles for a bit, and then collapses to the ground, the only movement coming from the flames upon it.
On the other side of the caravan, the battle is similarly drawing to a close. From atop a cart, the Lokira blasts one hound with a wave of energy, while the caravan leader slices through anther with his glaive. Amongst their allies, one warrior is sitting against a cart, nursing a wound, while another leans heavily against his spear, breathing heavily. At last, all is still.
The caravan leader looks around him and, seeing no more foes, turns to the other side of the caravan. "Nicely done... I'd tell you to burn the bodies, but it looks like you've already started on that." He then turns to the injured members of the group and says simply, "Damn, but they're getting bold... we're not even at the outpost yet."

Ghost Tracker sets about to try and get the pelts of any of the blighthounds that are not already charred beyond use, if there are any.

The golem of fire faded away once the battle was done, Paladin grimacing at how slow he was at summoning it, so it hardly helped in battle. 'That's something I've got to work on' He through, as he turned to the cavaran leader. "Aye, very bold. I suggest we make our way to the outpost quickly, I fear it might of also been attacked."

Bellator laughed a bit, wiping his axe on one of the charred corpses, his eyes wild, but his tone was delighted..."We won, ah, ha, ha...!! That's what you get, little beasts, hee, hee~!" Though after a moment, he finally turned to look at the others, blinking. "Mend yourselves if they tore your flesh, I don't think they'll let this go so easy...We may be facing more before this day is done...I can hardly wait, hmm, hmm..." He put his axe away, making sure the bodies were properly burning before heading back to the wagons.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
"I'm not sure I want to think of a force that could take down the outpost," the caravan leader said. "It's certainly not a force we can manage. The outpost should be able to handle itself until we arrive, though." The sky was beginning to turn red as the sun approached the horizon, already hidden beneath the treeline. The caravan would indeed have to get going quickly to reach their destination before night.
At the caravan Lokira's instructions, the able-bodied caravan members start carefully gathering the Blighthound bodies that aren't already on fire. One of the members takes a torch, lights it with the flames from an already-burning hound, and moves over to the pile to set it alight... after waiting a bit to see what exactly Ghost Tracker is doing, and looking on in some puzzlement given that the pelts of the hounds aren't of good quality, having so many holes in them and such, not all of them inflicted by the group's weapons.
When all is done, the wounded are gathered into carts and the caravan moves forth once more. One of the members, a wispy-looking middle-aged man, looks over the wounds of the group, then sets to work on the injuries, prioritizes those who can't quite stand. He looks to have his hands full, however.

Paladin, having knowledge of healing himself, joined the whispy looking man in tending the injured. Using also his Gift and Ki to aid the healing process if those he were tending too.

Aparix walked alongside the leader of the caravan this time, scratching his chin. "So," he finally said, jumping up on the edge of a nearby cart and turning to face the leader more fully. "I take it that attacks by blighthounds don't normally happen on this trail?"

Ghost Tracker notices the odd looks and explains, "Can't use them to make a whole garment but, other things often need patches."
She nods to Paladin in appreciation of the healing magic after staring blankly at him for a few moments unsure of what he was doing.

Bellator shook his head, thinking...He only had a few scratches that would heal on their own, and he didn't want others touching over him right now. He moved, trying to get a good view of the path for now...He wanted to see his next foes coming, so he could get first blood...!

The two healers are able to stabilize the wounded, and none of them get any worse... but there isn't much improvement, either.Fury of the Tempest wrote:Paladin, having knowledge of healing himself, joined the whispy looking man in tending the injured. - So, what I'll do with the HP situation is that, everyone gets healed up to the top of their "tier" of health - bloodied characters go up to 15 HP, those with HP above 15 are healed up to full.
"Well, anything's possible, but what with the waystation nearby and all, they usually prefer to attack targets closer to Outreach... hopefully this is just a larger-than-normal pack that got a little bold. Or insane. That happens sometimes."AProcrastinatingWriter wrote:Aparix walked alongside the leader of the caravan this time, scratching his chin. "So," he finally said, jumping up on the edge of a nearby cart and turning to face the leader more fully. "I take it that attacks by blighthounds don't normally happen on this trail?"
Within half an hour they come within hearing distance of the outpost - and hearing the sounds of battle, the roaring of monsters. A moment later they come into a clearing within which crested a shallow hill, atop which were a sentry tower, barracks, stable, and a reasonably sized number of battling soldiers and monsters of various sizes. Quite a few casualties litter the ground, mostly monsters. Mostly.
"Hell," the caravan leader says. "Looks like we're just in time to turn the tide! Cut me loose, I'm going in! To arms!"
The Lokira quickly obliges, hopping onto the lead cart and quickly detaching the Trihorn. Without a moment's hesitation the caravan leader used the back of his glaive to smack the Trihorn on the rear, and the two charged forth, perhaps a tad too eager to go into battle. Going uphill slightly meant that the Trihorn lost a bit of its momentum, but this was small comfort to the Blighthounds and other small monsters it trampled underfoot.
The rest of the caravan took up their weapons, though they were notably less eager to play the hero. The choice was taken away from them, however, when several monsters broke from the battle to move towards the caravan. The largest of which was a grotesque beast, looking like the Brood Queen had somehow merged three or more monsters together - or else, entirely possibly, birthed the thing as conjoined siblings. The beast, for the most part, had the shape of a giant lion or other predator, but it had a second head, like that of a goat, erupting forth from its back, while its tail held a mouth and fangs.
Its companions - a mix of blighted hounds and what looked like a couple blighted horses - quickly engaged the various members of the caravan, while the chimera held back slightly, gauging the strength of the group before it.

Paladin was glad that he could help stabilize the wounded, but at the same time, this put him far from the battle when it erupted in front of them. He quickly jumped from the caravan and marched towards the battle, drawing his sword as he locked target onto the chimera. However, he knew he would probably be one of the last to the battle.

"Chimera? CHIMERA!! HA, HA!! This will be a fight worth our efforts!! COME ON!! I'll use its tail as a backscratcher when we're done with it, ha, ha-OOF!" Bellator's ranting was cut short when, in his single-minded focus to engage the monstrosity, he tripped over one of the corpses left in the trihorn's wake. Though, he quickly pulled himself up, ready to fight regardless of the embarassing incident...He thought he had an idea for dealing with this one...He'd need to be quick..Quick as the wind!
