Cloud just trots along after Dart, glancing at the varied vials and sparking appliances. Still a little peckish, she keeps an eye open for any candies that might be laying about.

Also using Found It!, because this looks like a good area to look for things. Keys and Candy within 30 feet of Cloud plz.

*Grey looks around curiously. She makes sure to check the darkest corners especially well because everypony knows that's where mad scientist's hide their favorite "take over the world" projects when they're expecting guests who may not approve.*

Nightwatch (2)
You can see in the dark, and suffer no penalties to Perception checks in non-magical darkness.
Eagle Eye (1)
You take no penalties to your Perception checks from weather or atmospheric conditions such as
smoke, fog, rain, etc. You can also clearly see small objects and fine details up to a mile away.
Grey reads a lot of mystery/sci-fi/other-mad-scientist-containing novels in her spare time.

Elacular wrote:Pyro knows all too well that there are tons of places to keep ponies in the camp. After all, a psychic child or teenager getting rowdy would be all sorts of trouble. Jewel has her "Secret lab" for one. And then there's Loften's Pagoda which has a sub-marine glass trap underneath it. Theoretically for meditating on marine life, actually very useful for time-outs. If you're feeling especially cruel, you could hand him off to whatever the lunchpony's calling herself right now. The students say that she uses ponies to cook her sunday special. In actuality, she just locks them in the walk-in freezer for a few hours. Or you could just chuck the bastard in one of the shower stalls and let the athletes hoof eat him alive.
Considering his options, Pyro decided the Pagoda would be the best place; provided, of course, that it wasn't occupied. He judged that he should be able to get there to check and back to the sense-dep chambers within the ten minute limit, and began trotting in that direction...

Re: Psychoneights
The display Dart goes to has a few things on display. One seems to be a pressurized water canon costing about 50 psitanium arrowheads. Another is a small, motorized cart costing about 100. There are a few psitanium baubles, but the most expensive and gaudy of those is a crown like thing marked "The Unmaker" is very poor crayon. Apparently that one is worth 500 arrowheads. Only one of the miscellaneous devices is without a price tag: a strange thing that looks like a bright purple featherduster, marked "Prototype."
Cloud easily finds Jewel's ring of camp keys and knows that there's one hid under the "Unwelcome" mat placed warmly at the entrance. She also knows that there's a massive haul of candy stuffed inside of a pantry locked and marked "Keep out". The only other candy is a group of little baggies marked "Meditation pills, 5 arrowheads". Oddly, only half the bags marked as such (only the ones with Orange ties as opposed to purple) have candy in them.
The most sinister looking things are the water guns deliberately designed to look like WMDs and the Unmaker. Checking the dark corners yields little but dust, mold and spiders. For a janitor, her place isn't all that clean.
Pyro is able to walk to the beach in just under two minutes. Swimming out to the pagoda is another thing altogether. The only one who seems to be using it is Marshom Aloe.

"Hey Jewel. What's an 'Unmaker'?" After a second, he also says. "And whats a 'Probotype'"
Dart continues to examine the display, mostly looking at water gun, the cart, the crown and the featherduster.

Cloud pokes the ring of keys enough to jangle them, before continuing on to the bags of 'pills.'
"So what are these things? I uh...already know that they're supposedly Meditation pills."

Pyro's eyes found themselves on Marshom Aloe; perfect! "HOY!" he called out from the beach. "MARSHOM ALOE! FRONT AND CENTER!"

<<Seriously Dart? That says Prototype not "Probotype". A Prototype is an early version of a device. They're generally assumed to be fully functional, unlike mockups, but not yet fully tested for possible safety issues or errors in function. So what is this a prototype of Miss Jewel? Also what exactly does "The Unmaker" do?>>

The water gun is more of a highly pressurized water cannon. It seems like, with a steady supply of aquatic ammunition, it could have the firepower (so to speak) to win any water war ever. In a camp of rowdy, rambunctious psychic children, some of whom can control water with their minds, this seems like it would be a premium.
The motorized cart seems like it would be useful for hauling around just about anything and you're 99 percent sure you can smell bits of crushed granite and other rocks inside it. It's a good bet that she's taken this cart to the quarry on multiple occasions.
When you examine the Unmaker, you feel any psychic energy you use around it resonate inside of the crown to...some purpose you're sure.
You have no idea what this crappy featherduster is for besides the fact that it is very purple.

Jewel had opened her mouth to answer, but smiled when Grey answered for her. "That's right! Good on ya, pipsqueak. Anyway, that there is a prototype of the Cobweb Duster. See, I work on commission for the Psychoneight bigwigs from time to time, and they've been wanting something to get rid of mental cobwebs. In theory, this thing should work. Buuuut, that's a pretty big theory considering I've never even seen the stupid things. Not actually psychic, you know? I'm still trying to get someone to beta test it so I can figure out if I'm doing something wrong and iron out the kinks. Magimind would be the best option, she's the most sciency, but she doesn't actually trust most of my inventions. As for the Unmaker, it's the best goddamn psychic amplifier I've ever made, thank you very much. Uh...you kids probably shouldn't put it on, that noted."

With her mind so focused on clearing the algae, she was startled by Pyro's greeting. However, managing to clear her head she stepped forward and gave a simple, "Yes sir?"

Jewel considered briefly. "Well, meaning no offense, but kids ain't exactly known for their knowledge of the scientific method. And plus, the counselors would probably give me an atomic wedgie if it turned out my safety testing wasn't rigorous enough..."

"Don't call me sir!" he replied in his Standard Sergeant Sound (that is, gruff and angry.) "Now. Here in about ten minutes(*) I'm going to be bringing a very bad pony and locking him in the pagoda until the Royal Guard shows up to take him away. I need you to make sure nobody is in the way when the two of us arrive, got it?" he instructed.
((Here's how I get ten minutes... You said it took two (2) minutes of walking to get here. I figured one (1) minute talking to Marshom, and then two (2) to walk back. That'll leave five (5) minutes of waiting/contingency until Pornstache needs out. That brings us up to eight (8) so far, followed by another two (2) minutes walking to get back to the pagoda, for ten (10) total.))

The fact that you're making this more of a services exchange definitely seems to hit the right note with Jewel, but she's not entirely convinced, especially when Dart brings up knowledge of a prototype as if it's entirely impressive. Even so, she considers it very strongly. "Weeeeeellllll...tell you what? You guys need to prove to me that you're competent enough to deal with any potential incompetence that got in this machine. The best way to do that is to have you do a thing." She bangs her fist down on the motorized cart. "I'm gonna be making another one of these for one of the other campers. But, you lot could save me the trouble and build it for me. Heck, I'll even give her an apprentice worker discount if you do. Anyway, if you can replicate that, I'll let you test the duster and help you out with your psitanium stuff. Honestly, if you dig up arrowheads and build stuff out of those, most of the purifying is done for you, but you need to do it just right so the sharp bits don't mess you up."
Quietkal wrote:Cloud nods her head a little in understanding, before asking, "So what are they for then? 'Meditation,' obviously, but like...why?"
Jewel considers how to best explain it, then speaks slowly. "It's sort of halfway between a super mild narcotic and adderall. It makes focusing easier and gives lots of kids a closer connection to their psychic powers. It's not for everyone, but it helps lots of people."
