Update: so, the character is coming along well. I still have to fill in background and combat, but I should be on schedule for a couple of days; just thought I'd best run my current thinking of Compass Rose by you guys, to make sure it meshed well.
to out together someone who fills in some of the 'other' stats on the list; namely the Brawn, with some training in History. Most of the abilities are support-based ones, providing bonuses to skill checks for myself and other team mates; a handful of 'travel' based enchantments, instant party, and what seemed to me like general 'support' abilities.
In terms of combat... I haven't started filling things in yet, and was wondering if there was any kind of niche you might like filling. My Brawn is second to Steel Bolts at the moment; the idea of an element of magic tank seemed kind of fun. At the least, as long as I'm trying something other than FC, I'm happy; I want to try a range of roles to see what I think, so I have no problem adjusting if you guys think it necessary.

As far as combat goes, we don't have a dedicated healer yet, but a tank might work as well. Or you could combine the two if you want.

Applejack of All Trades boosts any non-trained skills, so untrained CM skills should be fair game. I think 2 to 4 of my previous characters have utilized that fact. This one might do so as well.
I should also hopefully be done with [still unnamed pony] by the end of the weekend.

In any case, i can probably fill out any role that we seriously need, but barring outside input I was tending towards a healer. It fits with the kindness theme, he can reasonably have some supernatural healing abilities, and out out-of-combat healer is psychotic alchemist (I draw this conclusion from his combat build and the fact that he uses the theory of the four humours. It's fine, I can dress my own wounds...), so there's a healing deficiency. I was thinking of mixing in some summoner flavor too, but I'm not certain yet how well the two styles will mix, or if I want to mix in summoner at all.
So in short, Healer would probably work, but I can reasonably explain myself into any role that we'd need.

I... okay, so... sometimes I worry that there's more to life than this. Sometimes I worry that I'm not going where I need to be, or I'm going in the wrong direction, but...it's not a big deal. Just... jitters. I'm sure of it.

I want to see everything! The world is so big, so incredible, so full of so many things that I could live to be a thousand and not see it all... but that doesn't mean I won't try!

What do you mean? I have what I want... I mean... It might be nice to have someone to share them with sometimes, but... I'm happy. Really.

... I should say my parents. I mean, they raised me, I literally wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them...or I should say lord Magic Wand, since he ruled where I grew up, and it's thanks to him we got money. Besides, he's a unicorn.

Honestly, it's Windy. I only knew her for a short time, but she helped me. I know my parents love me, but they would have wanted me to follow in their hoof steps, and even if I didn't realise it then, that made me miserable. Windy is the one who told me about Wonders. It's thanks to her I've seen all the things I've seen, been every where I've been. She made me realise how Wonderful the world can be.
7) What is the most important place in your character’s life? Why? Describe the most important moment your character ever spent in that place.
Every place is special; every place is Wonderful. For important... Well, there was lord Wands Mansion, but that's just because it's where I met Windy. And there was a small grove not far from home, which was where I saw my first Wonder, so that's pretty important...
But, I guess I should tell you about my cutie mark?
It's a boring story though. I was playing with some friends of mine. There was a forest beyond lord Wands mansion we liked to play in- his foals didn't mind as long as they got to join in and we were home by dark. Except... well it's hard to predict time, isn't it? So the moon came up earlier than we thought it would, and it just.... stayed there. Everypony was so afraid... I tried focusing, and I was sure that I knew which way to go to get out. Sure enough, it was, and that's why my cutie mark is a compass; I have a great sense of direction, and I can find my way around easily. It's a useful talent for a wonderluster, huh?

Idealistic Crystal Pony adventurer, who may or may not be suited for the element of magic but is worth more than she thinks.
9) What do you, as a player and artist, hope to gain by playing *this* character?

My coat and Mane are... strange. They shimmer and sparkle sometimes. Does that count? I don't understand it either...

I'm more cynical than Compass is, but like her I have a bit of an "Ooh, shiny!" attitude to things. On any given day, my idealism might match hers as well; we're both rather naive about the practicalities of life, and I have a strong belief in the sanctity of life, which is something I want to develop and explore with Compass
12) What secret would your character least like the world to know?
I can't hide it very well... but I'm a little ashamed of my coat. It's why I wear such big clothing, to try and cover it up. I've never met another earth pony like that.

Feel free to create the organization yourself, or use one of the existing organizations within the world (information on that will be included in the campaign options).
It's...not the Wonderlusters, actually. I mean, I want to aspire to be one- Wonder is Magic after all- but...
I don't think their real.
I still have the membership card Windy gave me; it's like papers that let you travel between the unicorn kingdoms without problem. But most of the ponies I mention it to have never heard of it -actually, when I said Windy was a Pegasus, they thought I said Wonderbolts? I've never heard of that either...
Anyway...regardless of whether their real, or official, I guess being a Wonderluster is important to me. It gave me a purpose and direction when I didn't have one.
There's been a few other places along the way though. I volunteered at a hospital for a little while; I don't think I really realised how fragile ponies could be before then...
And... yes. I was in the Lulamoon Sect for a little while. But only for a really little while. Everypony in it is supposed to stand out, be a leader, be important, but... that's really not me...
14) How are at least two ways your character might change by the end of the campaign? For example, playing a dark character that develops guilt and seeks to make amends (redemption plot), playing a young innocent excited for adventure that could end up disillusioned (maturation plot), or a character numbed by loss that learns to trust friendship again (resurrection plot).

Best outcome: she grows up and steps up. She gains confidence in herself so she doesn't just follow the loudest voice or the most dominant personality. She stops questioning herself, and doesn't just represent the Harmony of Magic; she earns it.
More to Life than Places and Things
Compass doesn't have many close relations; depending on how her relationship with the Remane Five develops, she could become closely attached to them.
We can save the crystal ponies with their history!
Compass discovers the truth behind why she is how she is; what crystal ponies are, where they came from, what happened to Sombra, and what Discord did with the Crystal Empire when it reappeared.[/ b]

Hey, it occurred to me that I just swooped in and swept up the element of generosity out of nowhere even though it's a pretty popular one. Would you like me to put together a laughter character and let someone else take the gen?

Okay, As much as I like Midas, I like Private Eye too, and I like the possibility of actually getting this game off the ground most, so yes, Generosity and Laughter are technically both open now, and if anyone wants to fill the last spot, you may make a character for either element. I'll change the front page to reflect this.

Also, I've been wondering, how do we get chosen? Do we just blink and find ourselves sitting in a ring in a forest, acutely aware of Discord's opening monologue? Or does some ridiculous aberration of an angel fly down from the heavens and poke us in the eye with a magic wand, offering us an "invitation" to join in Discord's Game? I think those are pretty much the two extremes. Where does reality fall in all this?
EDIT: I'm listening to Heads Will Roll right now, and I think it's the best fitting Meatloaf for this chapter of Sunlit Wave's life.

Both of those scenarios have happened. As well as the time Discord made a huge production broadcasting the choices to all the realms and encouraging everyone to take bets. Or the time he took six random ponies in the bath and dumped then in a swamp. Or the time he retconned all the participants except the winner, who who was brought back the second she left and no one believed when she said what happened. Its different each time is what I'm saying.
This does lead to a question I have for all of you. If Discord gave your character five minutes to say goodbye to anyone, ( someone they care about, someone they hate, etc) 1. Would they use it? 2. Would you want to roleplay using it? This'll probably solidify how it'll go this time.

Whatever you can do in five minutes is possible. If enough people want to roleplay it out, It'll be part of the IC thread. If not, we'll cut straight to the games, and those who want to roleplay it may do so over pms.

I'm ambivalent towards role playing it, but my characters are not. Midas would need to say goodbye to ruby and receive her gift, and Pri would want to hug everybody in the church goodbye.

I don't really have anyone to say goodbye to, though it would be right down Discord's alley to pluck me out of the realm when I was in the middle of a long job. Even then, I don't think I'd be in much of a position to say goodbye to people.
