Marked puts a paw into the underside of his critic vesttop thingie... Let's see, oh surprise meself with whatever prop should be my opening battle-gag? and with that he pulled out at random what looked like a Pencil... "Ah... I remember that good brand of dark humor. Believe I rated that gag as at least a 9 out of 10 of the dark jokester that profromed that for me a few years back." The Diamond Dog's first words were to seeing the prop clearly getting a little nostalgic about the normal looking pencil. Next he turned to one of the Hippocorvid as a grimdark aura seemed to overcome the Critic... "HEY, ANYBODY WANNA SEE ME MAKE A PENCIL DISAPPEAR?" Then Marked jumped to the creature and jabbed the pencil into it's body... Making a lot of blood and a hint of gore, but overall after all is said and done, the attack didn't really seem to do as much real damage as it looked. But Questions didn't let this bother him as he finished his battle-gag with stating. "TA DA! HEHAHEHA!"

Even with the Hippocorvids attacking him, the warmth of Sunlit's spell calm's Midas down quite a bit and he gets shakily to his feet. "I was tryinna be nice and help you guys! You ungrateful %+&#$%!"
The noise that came out of his mouth was an unequine growl that Marked recognizes as a horribly offensive Diamond Dog profanity. Without another word, he pulls a small vial of black powder out of his scarf and throws it into the middle of the Hippocorvids where it explodes with a bang.

At that last yell, three new hippocorvids enter the room. Hearing Midas' yell, and seeing three of them struck down the one in the enter, (wearing a stone helmet) "Intruders.Shall.Pay!" and flew at Midas, striking him much harder than the others. upon hearing the yell, two of the hippocorvids got back to their feet, one of them smacking Midas again, another hitting Compass Rose

Compass flinched as one of them came at her, it's claws mostly just catching and ripping her already battered clothing. Her eyes darted about; she wasn't used to this kind of thing. She always tried avoiding fights...

Flinching a little at the site of the helmeted Hippocorvid's impact on Midas, Sunlit Wave places his hoof on his glowing constellation and lifts the spiderweb of stars off his flank. He stares at it intently for a moment, and stars fall away until only seven remain. "Monoceros." He whispers. "That looks about right, doesn't it? It'll have to do." He blows the constellation off his hoof and watches it spiral down, landing across Midas' back and seeping into his fur. The stars around his hooves grow brighter and the warmth within Midas grows stronger as Sunlit Wave's Pegasus constellation reappears where it belongs.

The hippocorvid menaced by a single bee flinched, but didn't seem too bothered. Another hippocorvid soon crushed it. The leader, attacked by a whole swarm, was more bothered, although she withstood it fairly well, angrily glaring at Skitter.

While one bee didn't seem to bother the creature, under the attack of all the bees at one, the targeted creature soon fell

The band of creatures were looking a little worse for the wear, but when their leader yelled. "WE.CAN.STILL.DO.THIS!DON'T.GIVE.UP" They seemed to take a new vigor. Two of the creatures got back up, and several of them piled on Skitterbuzz. The leader was unable to join them, still being menaced by Skitter's swarm

Compass glanced around the battlefield. On one side was Midas, draining a flask of some sort of liquid; on the other was Skitter being harried by the hippocorvids. Compass couldn't see any clear way to get to either of them- or the other elements for that matter- in the swirling mess of ponys, feathers and bees.
Instead, she did the next best thing she could, useless as it was; she shouted encouragement.
"C'mon everypony! These are just birds- and not even big birds, like the Pheonixes of Sinlit Gorge. Those set my mane on fire; all these magponies can do is scratch! Don't give up!"

The bees stopped what they were doing as Skitterbuzz screeched under a pile of magasus. They stared briefly. Even those who didn't understand them could see they where visibly angered.
Their fury descended on the offending attackers of their standing Queen like a hail storm, nearly covering them.
A few broke off, heading back to the leader, as if detecting the presence of the enemy "queen". They glared, as if to say "We haven't forgotten you" before attacking with fewer numbers, but no less fury...

The creatures seemed to be getting a bit more used to the bees. The swarm failed to bother the creature they targeted.

The remaining hippocorvids continued attacking, one stepping on a bee, and the other three continuing the attack on Sunlit Wave. Then, the hippocorvid talking to the Leader called to them, and the four rushed over and began whispering.

Midas snarled at them, all his muscles tensing all at once. His horn's glow changed to a deep, blood red, magical power radiating off it in waves. The magic nearly lifted him up off the ground, but instead he formed a glob of green acid above his horn, blasting it at high speed into the leader's face. Without missing a beat, he pulled a syringe out of his scarf and charged forward, shoving it into the leader's neck and depressing it before moving back. His muscles seemed to relax and his horn's glow fell back to a pale gold. Quietly, he pulled a tiny bottle of brandy out of his scarf, taking a small sip before putting it back.

The Hippocorvicd Leader, after making one quick check of her troops, to make sure they were all up, Suddenly gave a out a cry of "ATTACK!!" and led the group in slamming Midas Touch to the ground. Two of the Hippocorvids kicked him further, one whispering "Nomoreshinymaker."

"NO!" Sunlit Wave shouts, his voice resonating through the cavern. The lights in the cavern momentarily disappear, and for a split moment the only things visible in the room are Midas' starry hooves and Sunlit Wave's star-coated fur. In that moment there's an odd shift, as though the universe were seeing double for a moment, and the two lights are switched. Light returns to the room immediately, and Sunlit Wave grimaces as he takes the hippocorvid leader's attacks, baring some momentarily present fangs at the equine raven. He does not notice Midas taking the Hippocorvid's continued attacks where he had been, but mutters "No more shinymaker indeed." in a satisfactory tone, the fangs gone.
