"That didn't even make sense!" Living Lightning shouts, wrapping a whip around one of her forelegs. He casually explodes yet again as the beam washes over him, but hardly notices the deionization. It practically felt normal. However, he notices his less fortunate teammate, the less-tough one with the guitar, beginning to flag under the assault. He bolts over to him, shock whip still in hand, and lands on the ponies back. "You look like you could use...a little jump-start!" He hisses into his ear in mock fearsomeness. The whip pulses, and he lets a jolt of electricity course the pony's body, jumping off before the current built up to danger levels. 'You're welcome." He says, running off to avoid the next round of magical blasts.

OOC:

Armor 10 blocks 10 damage. I take 3 damage, then 2d6=9 damage
Using [-1] Conjure remnant (Withering Blade) - Minor Utility (Bladespell)
The next Single attack you use also causes the target to suffer Weakness 5.
Then
[+2] Defibrillate (Syphon Life) - Standard Action (Attack, Single, Healing)
Deal 1d6 damage to target creature and another target creature gains 5 life.
Dealing damage to the alicorn and healing Acoustic for 5 HP. Also, the Alicorn gets Weakness 5.

Spending the last charge on the dispenser to heal Acoustic for 7 more HP. The dispenser is gone.

Lastly, using
[0] Avenger’s Challenge -  Free Action (Challenge) [1/Round]
Challenge target creature until the end of your next turn.
On her grammatically-non-compliant majesty.

Re: The Final Prize [IC]

Post  Fury of the Tempest on Thu Oct 09, 2014 12:45 pm

“She really is annoying, isn’t she?” Storm Blade said to no one in particular as he did his best to dodge the beam, though it clipped him, and lingered on to explode moments later. This meant there was no openings for Storm to exploit. However, he did give him time to charge his blade with its weakening ability and charged in to strike.

The pegasus was feeling a little annoyed by Evil Eye’s flashy combination attacks, but also felt a rivalry with him, he was a night-guard, and he seemed to be doing a much better job than he was with those combo’s... so Storm Blade threw in one of his own.

First, his blade slammed into the alicorn’s wing, sending a sharp jolt through her body and weakening her. Next, he spun round, clouting the alicorn around the head before landing next to her and lashing out with a double-hooved buck, before using the recoil and wings to get some distance from her. Maybe not as impressive as his last two combinations, but still, Storm was proving that he could also do as much damage as the night guard was.

Turn:
Took 6+3 damage.
Gained 2 PiPs
[-1] Weakening Blade, next attack inflicts weaken 5.
[-1] Bull's Eyes, 3d10 damage to target creature. 1+1+10 = 12
Crit. 2d10 damage to target creature. 5+10 = 15.
Crit. 2d10 damage to target creature. 5+9 = 14.

41 damage to 'her majesty'

The crystal polygons floated forward and rotated.  Then, each glowed a red light as one after the other as they fired a red beam at Acoustic.  The blasts lacked impact but instead stung like a swarm of fire ants from the deepest nightmare.  As they returned to rest, the mare responded in a more snide tone than usual,

"The only way you'll hear silence from me is when your pitiful little lives are over."

Powering up her horn, she nodded to two crystals which turned dark. One fired a fierce blast of pulsating blackness through Living Lightning and the other through Storm Blade.  She then smugly summoned two more glowing crystal icosahedron which hovered near her.

OOC:
Acoustic takes 5+5+5+5 damage
Living Lightning and Storm Blade take 40 damage.  Retaliation target is the crystal polygons.
Alicorn suffering from Weakness 19 (reminder to myself since it sticks)
There are now 6 targetable summons in play.

Supernova grimaced. Those crystals were annoying, but she didn't see any point in attacking them, since her highness could apparently still summon more. Better to take her down and hope that without direction, the things collapsed.

In the mean time though, Supernova felt like she could repeat the attack she just made for days. So she did.

Turn+Status:
Once again, Supernova is ignored. Guess the "Princess "doesn't see her as enough of a threat (or an annoyance) to take out
Also, don't worry doc, next battle the reins go over to Blackstar, and he'll be able to ease the burden a bit.

But in this battle

[-4] Soul-Devouring Cane - Minor Action (Bladespell)
Target creature suffers Weakness 9. The next Single Attack Power you use deals an additional 9 damage to its target.

[+4] Prod (Pot-Shot) - Standard Action (Attack, Single)
Deal 1 damage to target creature.

Deal 1+9+10 damage to Her Highness, and she suffers and additional Weakness 9. Hopefully she doesn't have enough Energy to keep up with the Warlord moves

HP:63
Energy:4
Status: Consistent damage is still pretty awesome

Living Lightning looks a little shocked at the sheer force of the blast that hits him this time, but manages to keep himself in shape by drawing his torn body (and the scattered sparks) into a ball, shooting towards one of the black crystal polygons. Instead of landing, he bounces off, careening off one of the untouched polygons before blasting towards Acoustic. "There's a third option there, you know." He hisses in his ear, resting on his back for a minute. "Her death would mean silence too." He lets a light jolt into Acoustic before leaping off again, the shock tether to the alicorn still in his hand.

OOC:

Armor 10 blocks 10 damage. I take 30 damage

Using Vengeance twice, once on the icosahedron that damaged Storm, once on one of the normal ones that blasted acoustic.
1d12=3
1d12=2

Then using Conjure Dispenser. Spending one charge to heal Acoustic for 7 HP.

Finishing my turn with [0] Avenger’s Challenge - Free Action (Challenge) [1/Round]
Challenge target creature until the end of your next turn.
On Her suddenly threatening majesty.

Evil Eye had run out of words. All that was left was actions. With a flap of his wings he darted alongside the alicorn, and delivered a mighty uppercut to her chest. At the same time he flapped his wings and propelled them both up to the ceiling, slamming her into the roof of the forcefield. He then threw her down to the ground and followed that up with a drill kick, slamming into her with all his strength.

Battle Data:
Gain 2 Energy at start of turn.
Using: [-6] My Love, My Anger, and All of My Sorrow! (Blitzkrieg) - Standard Action (Attack, Single)
Deal 6d12 damage to target creature and 10 damage to yourself. You may pay 10 Hatred. If you do, deal 6d12+3d10 damage to target creature and 10 damage to yourself instead.
Paying 10 Hatred. Targeting the Alicorn. Rolls: 5 + 10 + 2 + 6 + 6 + 9 (d12s) + 2 + 4 + 2 (d10s) = ...46.

Re: The Final Prize [IC]

Post  ZamuelNow on Sun Oct 12, 2014 5:47 pm

Breathing heavily, the alicorn glared at her enemies.  She started to power up her horn but then collapsed. Suddenly, the crystals shattered and a portal opened behind her.  As she was sucked in, all that she could respond with was,

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

As it closed, the crowd was silent.  A boisterous female voice sounded touch nervous as she spoke through an unseen speaker:

"That was...unexpected and shocking folks!  More excitement to come but-it-seems-like-we-really-need-to-take-a-break, so see you next time on The Final Prize!"

The floor's texture softens to the consistency of pudding, then the top of the forcefield rapidly compressed downward.  Pushing them through the "floor", Living Lightning, Supernova, Acoustic, Evil Eye, and Storm Blade found themselves in a cramped, foamlike room with dim lights coming from the ceiling.

OOC:
Alicorn KOed and battle over.
Leaving things here in case you choose to mingle IC between this and the next battle.  In case you're wondering, Evil Eye's 70+ crit pushed her cleanly past the bloodied point.

Living Lightning lets out a heavy sigh as the alicorn disappears. "Your absence is appreciated." He comments to no one in particular. As they descend underground, he curls up, and once the group is on solid ground again, he begins licking himself, rather like a cat. As his solid tongue passes over his limbs, they seems to shudder and solidify, forming a more obviously draconic form again.

Supernova stretched slowly. Not bad. "Not bad at all. You willing to let an old man share in the fun?"

At this, Supernova smiled and casually switched "her" cane from her front left hoof to her right. Then, after waiting until every pony (and electric dragon) was looking elsewhere, she closed her eyes, and called up a surge of power directly from the cane itself, until...

Blackstar, as he always did, checked himself over to make sure everything was in place. One quick adjustment of the cane, ( she never remembered to check that) and he was set. The nametag even shifted to reflect his own name. Satisfied, Blackstar lazily looked around the room wondering what kind of fight the had in store, and why whover it was chose this room of all places.

The foamlike walls close in and things go quiet.  Then once again the group found themselves in a room with the back wall pushing them forward.  As they reached the stage, the boisterous female voice once again booms through an unseen speaker:

"I hope you're ready for excitement folks because this surprising band of newcomers are about to go up against an opponent who's positively wild!  Let's give a roar for the Chimera sisters!"

The three headed beast stalked out of the opposite room.  She was smiling but they weren't necessarily friendly faces.  A paw casually pointed upwards and the goat head calmly quipped, "She does get tiresome some days.  Don't worry, you won't have to put up with her much longer."

OOC:
Players go first time.
The three heads are individual targets.

"We already had this conversation." Living Lightning says, sighing as he stepped forward, leaving a pale static afterimage of himself behind. "Silence, death, more death. Those are the options, right?" He says, stretching his limbs (his doppelganger mirroring his motions but staying in place).

"I wouldn't mind facing an opponent or opponent's that were actually respectful and didn't automatically assume they were going to win." Storm Blade said in half agreement, casually stretching himself and he charged his blade with a static charge. Evil Eye's rest was so short, and he had spent most of the time in quiet repose - a far cry from the furious berserker he had been in battle. Now, however, he rose from his sitting position, faced his foes, and growled. This foe was not as infuriating as the last, but they were still enemies, and enemies had to be defeated.

So without further ado, following the royal guard's lead, he took flight, moved around to the goat head, and struck... and missed.

Blackstar stretched slightly. "Nothing wrong with a little confidence, kid. I know I intend to win this fight, and I'm guessing you do too."

To his eternal embarrassment, Supernova was much more proficient at actually using the cane he enchanted himself in his spare time, but that didn't mean he couldn't fight One of the advantages to having been a ghost for so long was the chance to start building up connections. And he had a lot of connections.

"Oh, I'd rather you talk or scream during this time.  Silent prey is quite dull." The snake head excitedly pointed herself at Living Lightning. "That one spoke first! Can I..?" "Go ahead." The snake coughed a corrosive ball at Living Lightning.  Then, the goat conjured a glowing beam from her horns to blast the dragon.  Meanwhile, the lion head purred at her adversaries, "Where are our manners? AHEM, 'Lio'," "Echo" "and 'Opera'. Hope you guys don't die too quick." The the two guards were then batted with claw swipes but from their training they could tell they were being sized up as opposed to being a true attack.

Living Lightning pauses, confused, as the acid ball hits him. He felt...heavy. He promptly doubles over in shock and pain as the beam hits him, and elects to stay that way, curling up and, with some difficulty, changing into a ball of lightning and flying at the chimera. His aim is a little off, and instead of zapping the goat merely glances of the side of the lion head, reforming and desperately digging his claws into the back of the beast to keep from falling off. "Good wake up call." He hisses from behind the Goat, crackling once more.

The blow against the dragon surprised Blackstar briefly, but fortunately it wasn't up to him to react. Minor Poltergeists didn' st speak, but they could subtly lessen damage from injuries, and did so for the dragon (Lightning, wasn't it?)

Personally, Blackstar was ready to make more of an impression. If we are shouting names now, I guess I should join in. I -AM BLACKSTAR!" As he spoke, he expanded his ghostly aura, into it's own being separate from him. The being was several times larger than he was , blatantly transparent and looked the way his body probably looked after that explosion. In other words, most of the skin was melted off. But then, it wasn't meant to to trick anyone. It raised its head slowly and loosed two ghostly bolts of light from its eyes and horn.

At first the pegasus did not reply, instead as the chimera attacked, he retaliated. Landing two solid blows on the goat, before giving the snake-head a single-hoofed buck. He managed to dodge the swipes aimed at him, but knew they were experimental attacks and the real ones were yet to come.

As he landed and took a breather to recover from his retaliation, the blue pony spoke “Storm Blade, Captain of the Royal Guard.” After this, he struck once more, targeting the snake for a third time, focusing on her intently as he said. “You're not the first Crimea I’ve fought, and I doubt you will be the last.”

Re: The Final Prize [IC]

Like the stinger of a scorpion, Opera swiftly whipped out and bit Storm Blade when the pegasus guard struck Echo.  She then spit a glob of corrosive venom at Evil Eye.  Subsequently Echo sang two notes.  The first was pleasing to the ear while the second was shrill in a way that caused those with wounds to feel literal injury.  Meanwhile, Lio playfully batted around some of the others.  "My my, some of you seem more hearty than others." She then took a swift swipe at Living Lightning while giving a cruel grin.

OOC:
Storm Blade takes 10 5 damage. [snake - reaction - attack]
Evil Eye loses all Armor until the end of his next turn and suffers 1 ongoing damage (save ends) [snake]
Lio, Echo, & Opera gain Armor 5. [goat]
All players suffering from Ongoing Damage take 10 damage. [goat - attack]
Living Lightning and Blackstar each take 5 damage. [lion - attack] EDIT Living Lightning doesn't take the 5 damage due to weakness. Also, as a multitarget attack with LL as one of the targets, LL's challenge won't trigger.
Living Lightning takes 5 damage and suffers Rake (save ends). Creatures suffering from Rake take an additional 5 damage from the attacks of the creature who granted it.[lion - attack]
