The League [IC]

Iron Maiden shrugged. On the one hand, the more they knew, the better armed they were to face Staticaster. On the other hand, they probably shouldn't be wasting time arguing about it right this moment. She stood up and headed to the area where they would be jumping ready to move when it was time. "You got anything yet?" she called out to Scratch.

Ash brushes a loose strand of hair from her face, then leans back and tches derisively, a small, mocking grin playing across her lips. "Aren't we just so noble."

"I don't know who's right, but I'm sure it's not us. There's more harm done inside the law than outside it."

"Guys, we can have a philosophical debate later! After the hostages are safe!" Iron Maiden snapped. Afterwards, she cringed slightly, since she was the biggest rookie here, while they were the professionals, but in that case, they should be acting like professionals.

Yuri sighed. Americans who thought they knew about systemic corruption always annoyed him. "Ash, if you believe that, why are you here? You don't seem like the sort of person who needs an organization to function." You may, however, be the sort of person who doesn't particularly care. He adds silently. But if that's the case then why are we having this conversation?

Ash frowns and hides her face under the brim of her hat. "Well, now. It's hardly about what I need." Then, softly, in a wry deadpan, she adds, "let alone what I want."

Yuri looks intently at Ash. This is a woman who needs an ally, he decides, but also possibly the sort who would deck him at the slightest indication of that. As such, he sits back and says "I am a little new here. I know all your names, but I'm unfamiliar with your talents. What does everyone...do?"

"Generally? Break stuff, hurt people, and often enough make the grown-ups look bad." Phoenix says, twirling a small, mean looking knife in his hand. "Oh, and occasionally I play with fire. She'll tell you." He casually gestures at Iron Maiden, a small puff of flame dancing from his hand as he does so.

Iron Maiden rolled her eyes at Phoenix's words. "Sure." But as she glanced around the room, her face grew a bit more self-concious. "My powers aren't that flashy. Mostly, I just don't die easily. Also, I'm stronger than most people my size. But that's just because I don't have to worry about tearing muscle so I can push myself harder. It's not like true super-strength

"That makes two of us." Yuri replies with a small smile. "I may offer to throw you through windows occasionally."

Iron Maiden smiled slightly. "Does anyone here actually need a parachute? I know he-"She jerked her head towards Phoenix. "doesn't need one as long as he's awake."

Phoenix shoots her a sarcastic grin and a thumbs up. "Be that as it may, I'm not exactly really big on the idea of jumping out of a moving aircraft...."

"Oy. Brutes and supers." Ash pushes her hat upwards. "And for the record, I do need a parachute. I just do spy shit, I'm not magic." She tilts the hat back down. "Mostly."

Iron Maiden shrugged. "Suit yourself.

"No one's stopping you from doing it, if you want." Phoenix... let's call it 'suggests helpfully'. "I know you'll be fine, too, so you'll get to look extra cool. I'd suggest waiting until an entrance needs to be made instead of messing up the 'spy shit', though. Come crashing through the ceiling, be a boss."

The pilot's voice announces over the intercom, "We can land on the roof or hover a distance away and allow you to rappel down.  Which would you prefer?"

"Just land on the roof. We're supposed to go in quiet, showing off doesn't help."

"If this thing can't get to the roof without calling attention to itself, it's not gonna get above the building without being noticed either. We could drop down in some alley a few blocks out, but then we're gambling on a ground entrance they're not watching and adding travel time on top. Or, we can drop on a roof somewhere farther out and take the high road, but I dunno if Phones over here's--"Ash jabs her thumb towards Scratch--"parkour is up to snuff."

"...Precisely." Phoenix nods, and then becomes VERY interested in the nearest instrument panel.

Like a whisper in the night, the jet gently landed on the roof and opened the hatch so Ash and Scratch could exit.
