Copperette blanched for a moment before jumping into action. Her magic reached up to yank the alarm off the wall, putting the room back into relative quiet. "Seal the doors! All of them!" she ordered, looking around wildly for something that could help.

Her eyes landed on something, and she came to realize a little more that the tools of the past had not been replaced, merely improved upon. Her father's rivet gun was about the same size, and a little rustier, but there was no mistaking what the thing was...

Magic Point 1/2:
Create Crazy Contraption (3) – Magic
Preparation Time: 12 Seconds
Create a Crazy Contraption, such as an improvised bicycle-powered flying machine. Crazy Contraptions cannot have combat applications and can only perform physical tasks, a ‘disenchantment contraption’ or, ‘mind-controlling contraption’ could not be built. No materials need be on hand to craft a Crazy Contraption and the process of crafting one after the preparation time takes less than ten seconds. Crazy contraptions cannot be longer than 20 feet on any given side. Other than that, feel free to use this ability to shatter the boundaries of common-sense. The contraption disappears after 10 minutes and has no monetary value.

Your Crazy Contraptions now last for 20 minutes before disappearing.

Sliding doors were equally easy to figure out. They were already closing, in fact. She gave the rivet gun a look, checking for similarities - she had never used her father's, but she understood how to use it. This one wasn't very different. Press the nozzle to whatever you were riveting, squeeze the hoof sized trigger, and it would punch a rivet in. Pretty simple, ignoring the fact it was nearly as big as she was. She hauled it over the doors, now closed, and started punching rivets in, securing the doors to the floor and each other, before turning her attention to the smaller door and riveting it shut as well.

"Okay! That should buy us some time," she said satisfactorily. "Sweetie, can you turn on the PA from there?"

Wincing as the searing heat burns through his scales, Degree staggers but powers on regardless, his draconic magic absorbing the fire around him to regenerate his vitality even as the plasma takes a chunk of scale off of his chest. Hefting the Burninator, Degree fires wildly at the griffon hanging back, the dragonflame rounds triggering a reaction that sends the fire around the griffon into a fervor, burning ever brighter.

Through the flames, the pirates fire off another round of laser and plasma blasts that Degree catches on the full. Once again, the griffon merely stands impassively, watching events unfold.

"Processing-" Sweetie Bot's eyes glow again, and moments later the PA crackles to life. "Auxiliary Announcement System active. Door control is significantly better encrypted, commencing hard access-"

The rivets hammer through the metal well enough, and the sliding doors are soon fixed in place, at least for the moment. The hoofbeats come closer, and the sound of shouting and the clanking of metal can also be heard approaching. It sounds as though contact will be made within the next ten seconds or so-

BANG. An impact shakes the barred door, and a shuddering groan runs through the room as the door mechanisms strain against the heavy duty rivets. More impacts strike the metal doors, and soon it becomes clear that the pirates outside the door are attacking the doors with some sort of impact weapon.

Degree grunts as he takes the blasts head on, staggering from the pain before shaking it off and once again launching another volley of dragonflame rounds at the watching raider - who seems content to just stand there and burn to death.

With the sounds of the pirates starting beat down the door, there was another flood of calculations in Seva's systems. They could not afford to hold out for long, and if these pirates had something strong enough to potentially knock down the blast doors... A direct confrontation did not appear to be favorable. Taking the initiative, Seva connected directly with one of their cables into the PA system through Sweetie's access. With audio being fed directly, Seva took the liberty of a slight enhancement – speaking not just with their normal two-toned voice, but with a chorus that represented their entire being.

It was an extreme threat – and a bluff at that, considering there was no door control yet, but the pirates represented an extreme threat in themselves that needed to be matched.

Copperette paid little attention, instead focusing on her disks and layering them over the door. She rooted them in place, using all eight to seal the door off completely...

A salvo of missiles shoot from the Dawn, impacting against the engine block solidly. A shockwave ripples out from the point of impact, sending debris scattering - but the consistent glow of sublight thrusters remain - the strike hasn't quite crippled the system yet. Retaliation, in the form of twin bursts of plasma, lances through space and blasts into the shields, stripping away the flimsy energy field and blasting away a significant portion of the Dawn's hull.

The Onset Dawn suffers 4 hull damage.

Copperette Seva
"-bypassing security protocols-" Sweetie Bot continues to mutter commands under her breath, fighting for control of the system.

Another massive tremor rocks the engine room as the door is physically knocked in, only to be halted by the disks thrown up by Copperette - though the walls still buckle inward slightly. A throaty male voice calls out from the other side of the wall, "Bullshit, we've still got core life support - and a kinetic breach hammer with your names on it!"

In a thunderous CRASH the wall buckles in further, and Sweetie Bot looks up, looking as nervous as a robotic filly is able. "Uh... Wall integrity at 60%. Sensors indicate that impact generated force in excess of 1000 pounds- eep!" her analysis ends with a squeak as another impact rocks the room. "Hack complete! Engaging force lock mechanism-!" With a hum of energy, the doors snap back into place, and the walls seem to straighten up a little as well.

The next impact punches a solid circle shaped dent in the doors - but they hold. For now.

Degree
At last, after staying still and tolerating the pain of the heat for an inhumane amount of time, the Griffon draws a pistol, and with pinpoint accuracy, blasts Degree directly in the soft spot of his windpipe, causing a blinding amount of pain. But almost immediately afterwards the griffon stumbles, near death though still standing. The crew members line up another shot, but one goes wide while the other just barely clips Degree's shoulder.

Degree takes 20+1 damage.

Crew 2 saves against blindness. I forgot to mention but all enemies save crew 1 are blooded, crew 2 was bloodied a turn ago.

Bracing himself as plasma racked across the hull of the ship, Belgond loudly cursed Degree and his poor piloting skills... before he remembered that Degree was currently on one of the smaller ships doing Princess knows what. Which meant...

"WHO IN THE NAME OF THE PRINCESS'S ROYAL UNDERGARMENTS IS PILOTING THE SHIP WHILE OUR PILOT IS PLAYING RAIDER?!" Belgond yelled over the PA system in an attempt to draw attention to a problem with their current battle plan that yelling was appropriate for the situation. Trying to breath deeply to calm himself so that he could focus on the task at hoof, Belgond went back to the process of trying to win the battle. Waiting for the missiles to reload, he brought up the targeting system for the lazers once more, aiming all three of them at the leader's last engine with full intent on taking the damn thing out; They could always salvage some engines from one of the other ships and install them on it if they deemed this ship worthy of taking for their own when all this was said and done.

"Son of a- AGH! THAT'S IT, YOU'RE ALL BURNING IN TARTARUS FOR THAT!" Gurgling his own blood, even as the fire within seared the wound shut, Degree lunges forward, forsaking the burninator altogether in favor of just spitting a stream of flame onto the closest crew member.

Copperette stood back and observed. She didn't like the pounding on her disks. Fig Newton's Second Law told her that anything in the way of said disks (if or when they buckled) was going to have a bad day. "Everyone hug the corners," she instructed. "It looks like we have to fight." She scrambled over to the reactor core, a turn of a valve cutting off the fuel flow on one of the tubes. She unplugged that tube, securing it to a convenient hose and letting the excess drain onto the floor... Near the door, of course, making a nice, volatile little puddle...

Disentangling themselves from the equipment, Seva looked over Copperette's way. They would have preferred to avoid a fight, but it was clear that it was becoming the only real option to fend off these pirates. Seeing what the unicorn was up to, Seva immediately sought out a spot to avoid the blast.

There was a neigh imperceptible change in Seva's appearance, edges becoming prominent near joints as parts of their exteriors hardened and thicked. Their horn shifted, the point curving forward to point wherever the ACHE was facing, a thin, hollow shaft forming to serve as a delivery mechanism for certain attacks.

Almost at the same instant, a barrage of plasma bursts launches from the Stalker, while streaks of crimson light shoots from the Dawn - they cross each other, and in near simultaneous green and red impacts, the Stalker's propulsion systems explode outwards, leaving a hole in the hull, while the plasma punches through the shields and blackens the plating around the weapon control module, rupturing some of the energy cells. With a soft whine, the missile launches go offline.
The Onset Dawn suffers 4 hull damage. Weapons Control suffers 1 damage to maximum energy capacity.

Copperette Seva
Another bone-shattering impact bows the shape of the entire wall, and Sweetie squeaks, jumping away from the door area. "Impact force just spiked to over 1500 pounds of force! Wall integrity at 30%!"

As Copperette and Seva make their preparations, Sweetie casts a quick look around the engine room before slinking off to a corner. The room isn't nearly as well-supplied as Belgond's impromptu engineering room, but all the basic facilities - including a heavy duty power outlet - are there. There is a brief pause outside, with only a quiet whine of electronics, but it only seems to set Sweetie even more on edge. Taking one last look at the buckled wall and door, Sweetie's eyes flicker from green to yellow for a moment before a look of determination comes across her robotic face, and she plugs her tail plug into the power outlet. Electrical energy visibly crackles up Sweetie's tail and spine to her horn, and her power lines go from a gentle green to an angry red as plates on her shoulders open up to reveal gas vents, which are currently working overtime to compensate for the heat runoff. <Reformatting maximum power circuits>

Another boom rocks the room as the doors fly inwards, stopped only by the disks - which begin to shake worryingly. Between the gaps in the disks, a hulking armored form can be seen winding up, and  - thump - a muted thud can be heard as it punches the door once again. Despite the underwhelming thud, Copperette realizes that this is a very bad thing. As the saying goes, what goes up, comes down - and the disks have been holding up against overwhelming force for an admirable amount of time.

<Overcharge complete. Engaging Warframe Protocol. Objective: Elimination.> Sweetie's horn begins crackling with crimson lightning, just as the disks disintegrate violently, exploding from the sheer amount of kinetic energy they had to withstand. Deadly shrapnel fills the air, and though none have hit the party, the smoking holes in the walls are more than enough to show what could have happened.

As the smoke clears away, a towering figure almost entirely encased in snowy white power armor steps through, a ridiculously oversized power hammer held in one hoof.

"Look what you made me do to the ship," He said with a clipped tone, as two other heavily armored ponies, one with armor with red power lines and the other with blue, stride into the room. "And they sent children to do their dirty work? For shame. I'll have to pay them a visit later."

The red armored pony taps a hoof on the ground, and a disk pops out of their armor, expanding rapidly into what looks like a rocket shield which begins hovering around the pirate captain.

The two griffons finally succumb to the flames - evidently they expected Degree to have died from the shot, as the crew members remaining look extremely nervous as they slowly back away from the dragon, shooting at him in a panic - the shot pierces Degree's chest and arm, but at this point it's obvious the shots aren't slowing the drake down too much.

Raider 1 takes 11 ongoing damage and goes down. Raider 2 takes 5 ongoing damage and goes down.

Degree takes 4+6 damage.

Crew 2 takes 1 ongoing damage.

Growling, Degree breathes out a cloud of fire - before stopping for a second, narrowing his eyes. He has a better way of doing this. Commanding the inner fire, he shapes the flame into its own firestorm, capable of launching its own fireballs. Which it promptly does into one of the crew members.

So, it was them versus three well-armed ponies. The odds did not look good. Seva would not allow that to dissuade them though. They needed to protect Copperette and Sweetie, and they needed to take these pirates out for the safety of everyone on the Dawn as well as on the nearby station. Failure was not an option.

Seva faced the red-armored pony. A whirring sound built up in their horn, sparks of magic charge and run-off glowing around it before a small projectile shot out at high speeds at the red pony, a small globule of nanomachines that latched onto him, ready to administer a shock. Another charge of magic built up in the horn, though this time, there was a tingle through the rest of Seva's body as well. Instead of a projectile, their shot fired a bolt of pure magic.

The red guard grunts, but otherwise makes no comment, only taking a slight step back when their chestplate is scorched by the blast. Sweetie Bot's eyes flash, and crimson lightning surges from her horn to the red guard, sinking into their armor and directly electrocuting them from the inside. The guard grunts in pain again, and this time the blue armored guard looses two disks - one that hovers over Red and one that hovers over the captain. The disk over Red cracks open like a capsule, and little nano machines flood out, seeping into the guard's armor.

The captain watches the events unfold impassively, before bringing his massive strike hammer to bear - a cylinder almost as large as Copperette, hydraulic modules hissing and energy pistons churning inside, kinetic modules humming to generate excess impact force - and brings it down on the floor. Immediately a tremor shakes the room, but even more incredibly the metal itself seems to bend and ripple outwards as a wave of force hits the group, sending them all sprawling. Lifting the hammer again, almost effortlessly, the captain grabs with his other hoof a blunderbuss-like gun which he aims at Sweetie Bot, letting loose a blast of roiling green plasma at the filly-bot. The disk hovering above the captain, too, shoots forward, and it explodes when it impacts Sweetie. Her chassis holds up under the stress, but the crackling energy around her horn dies down significantly and her snowy coat now sports many burn marks. At that moment, Copperette springs the trap and a ball of magical fire surges up, scorching the captain's armor.

Everyone is dazed, save ends.
Sweetie Bot deals 5 damage to Red and takes 11 damage from the captain.
The captain loses 1d6 life.

The fire engulfs the crew member, and he goes down, the dragonflame scalding the flesh from his face. The other crew member just shoots blindly descending into a state of panic, one of the shots managing to catch Degree on the full.

Degree growls and moves in for the kill, but he pauses, having a better idea. He reaches to try and grab for the crew member's gun, while saying, "It's over. You've lost. Surrender, and I might just let you live."

The last crew member shivers like a leaf, and it takes a few moments for Degree to realize he's vacating his bladder out of sheer terror. Sensing little to no resistance from him, Degree can easily wrench the laser rifle from his hooves and cow him into submission.

Degree curls his lips in disgust, and shoves the pissing crew member to one side, marching off to look for the comms link. Opening up the channels, he searches around a little for the Dawn's frequency, and...

"Oi, Tough Guy, Stripes - I got the ship. They had slaves, couldn't risk it turning into a hostage situation so I had to kill most of the crew - well, except for a new kid pissing himself in the corner. What's the situation?"

To say that Belgond was enraged by the fact that the Dawn had suffered would be something of an understatement, but it was nowhere near as mad as he was at himself at the moment; He knew for a fact that this situation was his doing and if he had only been able to control his temper when it came to Degree and what the over-cocky handbag had been up to then maybe they could have captured all three ships by surprise and avoided this battle in the first place. Still, he had made his bed and now he was going to have to lay in it regardless of the outcome. The damage to the weapon systems was going to be a pain to repair and it was something of a hindrance at the moment since the damage was taxing the whole system...

Those that knew Belgond might have been surprised by the fact that he actually wasn't that mad at Degree at the moment; Instead he responded with a professionalism that wasn't there before. "You're the first team to report back Handbag. The Dawn's taken a bit of damage, their leader's ship has taken some damage around the bridge and they don't have engines anymore. Pricks are doomed but they've still got their weapons online. Current plan I can think of is to have you call their leader and convince him to surrender without anymore of a fight... If he doesn't you, me and Tough Guy teleport over there and beat him into submission; The station thinks he has intel they need and they want it badly."

He could call in, guns blazing and demanding surrender - or he could do this with a bit more finesse. His kind of game. Picking up the laser rifle and pointing it at the crew member, he tests the gun by shooting the wall directly behind the crew. "You're going to report in to the other ship. You're going to pretend that nothing is wrong, and ask about their status."

"Do not make a fuss, and... ah, don't lose your head." He gestures towards the console. "Go on."

Copperette screeched as she went flying. She struggled to her feet indignantly, her eyes narrowing at the armored ponies. "I..." she panted, catching her breath. "Am not..." She looked around, her eyes landing on the rivet gun. "A CHILD!" she screeched, making a dash for the rivet gun with murderous intent on her mind...

The crew member licks their lips nervously, but hesitantly goes towards the console. Tapping into the communication channels, the crew member contacts the other ship. "...Ephemeral Storm, come in, this is Chaser Prime. What's the situation on your end?" He glances at Degree, and turns back to the display. "We had a boarder but he was subdued."

The pony on the other end nods. "Good work. We've got a few boarders ourselves but the captain and his personal guard are going to handle it. They'll be taken care of in a little bit, I'm sure."

The transmission cuts, and the crew member looks fearfully at Degree.

Knocked onto their side for a moment, Seva struggled to bring themselves back up. They twitched as a brief surge of energy coursed through them, their damage detection systems noting a breakdown in some of their systems. They suffered no external damage, but inside, their nanomachines were scrambling to get back into order after some de-alignment from the hammer's impact, plus their own attack magic. They needed to do something though... Looking Sweetie's way, seeing that the filly bot was most damaged, Seva scrambled over to the filly and pressed a hoof against where the damage seemed most severe.

""Deploying repair colony.""

A thin stain of silver spread out from around Seva's hoof as nanomachines went to work repairing Sweetie's damage.
