Degree nods, and flicks on the PA. "Ahem - attention, ex-slaves of the ship. I've taken out most of the pirates and left one for you. Do as with him as you wish."

Then switching channels back to the Dawn, Degree says quickly, "Seva's been busted. They're pinned down, apparently the Captain has jumped over to take care of business. I'll try and force a surrender but you'd better get ready to rumble."

Finally Degree tries to get in contact with the other pirate ship. "You're outnumbered and outgunned. Your lead ship is crippled, and your pincer maneuver failed spectacularly. Surrender, and by Pirate code I will let you live... disgraced, but alive." Degree grins widely, "I'm offering you a chance to do the right thing... which is more than what can be said about your ex-compatriots."

Copperette reached the rivet gun. She hauled it around, pointing it towards the pirates accosting her, and unleashed a barrage of rivets and rage...

Actions:
[–9] Immolate - Standard Attack
Deal 2d8 damage to target creature. Then roll 1d10, and the target and each adjacent creature take ongoing damage equal to that roll result (save ends).

Captain is main target.

Damage result: 2d8 [8+6] = 14 (And a crit!)
Ongoing Damage Result: 1d10 [6]

Buccaneer Blaze:
8: Deal 1d8 damage to target creature and each creature adjacent to the target.

Again, Captain is main target.

Result: 1d8 [7]

End result: Captain takes 21 regular damage and 6 ongoing damage (save ends). Red and Blue (whom I assume to be adjacent) take 7 regular damage and 6 ongoing damage (save ends).

"You know, I never actually called you the child. I could have been referring to the lovely filly bot there." Almost contemptuously, he swings his hammer about and throws the barrage of rivets to one side, only shifting slightly as a few stray rivets that fail to be caught by the rocket shield bite into the armor around his shoulders. Whipping the hammer back around, he quickly fires off a blast with the plasma blunderbuss at Copperette, which Seva manages to shield Copperette from with their own body. "I'll call that a freudian slip."

Red and Blue are less fortunate, as both of them are peppered with rivets - blue less so, their rocket shield cushioning some of the damage.

The rocket shield orbiting around the captain and Blue shudder as the rivets puncturing their frames dig into vital wiring - and they shoot forward, exploding violently against Seva's body.

Seva takes 6 damage from the Plasma Blunderbuss, 4 damage from the first rocket shield and 5 from the second rocket shield.


Sweetie Bot steps forward, and with an electronic growl, fires off a bolt of energy at the captain. The crackling bolt is met with solid armor plating and diffuses harmlessly, to which the captain chuckles good-naturedly. "You're brave, I'll give you that."

Sweetie narrows her eyes at the statement and paws at the ground, her horn crackling with energy.

Sweetie Bot saves against dazed.
Sweetie Bot's Status:
HP: 13
Status: None


Blue grunts as the rivets dig into their armor, but holds fast, and another two disks pop out of their armor that both move to the captain, one of the dissolving into nanomachines that start repairing damage in his armor, and the other starting to glow red and beep ominously. With a hiss, Blue manages to loosen the rivets enough to yank them off - and under the damaged armor, Blue's skin seems to start knitting together with small pockets of silver congregating around wounds.

Blue saves against Ongoing Damage


The Captain once again takes up the hammer and slams it into the ground, visibly denting the ship-grade steel floor plates and causing another shockwave that knocks everyone off their feet. This time pointing the blunderbuss at Seva, he lines up the shot and lets loose a pin-point blast at the ACHE. "If you're so eager to take shots, then who am I to deny your request?" The bleeping disk flies at Seva a moment later, separating into deadly shards of sharpened metal that slices into the ACHE's side, right where the plasma shot connected to exacerbate the damage.

Everyone is dazed.
Seva takes 11 damage from the Plasma Blunderbuss.


Red releases yet another rocket shield that comes to a hover next to Blue, and moments later more disks start popping out of their armor that surrounds the Captain and Blue - they look less volatile than the rocket shields, but still look like they can shield significant damage before deactivating.

Red is bloodied from the ongoing damage.
Blue and Captain take half damage until the end of Red's next turn.

Lesser subroutines practically shouted back back reports of damage to Seva's primary runtimes. They struggled back onto their hooves, shaking as their internal mechanisms struggled to maintain function. They had taken so much damage, a forced shutdown was imminent. Even if they activated their self-repair, odds were that they would be easily taken out with how powerful the pirates were. Everything pointed towards defeat.

This was end then, it seemed. Perhaps it made the most sense. They had failed to save the doctors on Daedalus-2. They failed to properly respond to a possible threat on the ship. It made sense they would continue to not function usefully. Hopefully Copperette and Sweetie could survive somehow. Hopefully Clean Cut could help keep the crew healthy. If they even survived the other pirates...

~ We don't need to give up here though, do we? ~

That voice... what was it?

~ We've made mistakes, but we don't have to give up. Even if we've failed, we can keep going. ~

Runtime 0. It practically never contributed to decision though, or expressed opinion. It basically handled computation loads, functioned as an error handler. Yet it was speaking now. It sent an instruction to the Pathos Reactor that none of the runtimes interfered with, but were at the same time, puzzled by it.

~ We can still be useful. ~

Seva's posture buckled once more, stumbling forward as they felt a pressure building in their chest. The other runtimes scrambled to figure out what was happened in their reactor, what Runtime 0 was trying to do. The answer soon came as sections of Seva's exterior peeled back, like a bizarre six-petal flower was blooming upon their chest, revealing a white-hot orb inside that seemed to burn with the intensity of a star. A force of energy expelled from this opening propelled Seva to rear up onto their hind legs, streams of golden energy flooding out and gathering around the three fighters of the Dawn, infusing into them, filling them with a warm, fuzzy feeling that flooded their hearts, or whatever their equivalent might be – and in Seva's and Sweetie's case, repairing some of their damage.

The opening closed, Seva coming back down to their hooves. They were still very damaged, but they weren't done yet.

Degree's report on the status of Seva did not fill Belgond full of hope; The fact that there was still no word from the lead ship about giving up or not either was not a good omen as well. There did seem to be something of a lull in combat through which the zebra was more then happy to use in order to rework some of the power lines so the power that had been pooling in the reactor could reach a new destination; the Teleporter. Even if everything was going perfectly they would still need it to reclaim their crew members.

This lull in combat was also an opportunity to catch up on other things that he had been far to focused on to pay attention to before. Namely a series of ever-worsening status alerts coming from Copperette and Sweetie Bot. Quickly running a program to try and track down where the two fillies were, Belgond's blood ran cold when he found that both of them were on the same ship as Seva. The situation over there needed to be salvaged now before it was too late!

The teleporter itself was to far away for his liking; It would take less then a minute to reach it and more time to charge it up and use it and that was simply time that Copperette and the rest of her team simply didn't have from the sounds of it. Activating the lock on program that was the chip under Copperette's skin, Belgond felt the power of his own core start to surge as he turned on the PA just long enough to send the message "Golden, please come to engineering and take over. I'm going for a walk." before his personal teleporter surged to life and caused him to disappear in a flash of green light.

Reappearing in a burst of green light next to Copperette, Belgond's red cloak was already being cast aside while the zebra's combat programs were already starting to run as he worked to pick up possible threats and targets.

Copperette blanched as the pirate casually deflected her attack. Her bravado left her altogether, and she dove onto her Sweetie Bot, shielding her from whatever might come next and scarcely noticing Belgond's entrance...

Sweetie Bot turns to look at Copperette silently as she huddles up to her, the glowing eyes showing none of the child-like wonder present there before. Servos whirr in her limbs, and her horn charges up with another crackling blast of electricity. After a moment's quiet, the little bot stiffly holds up a hoof and wraps it, to the best of her ability, around Copperette's body. <"StAy sTrOng, bIg siSteR"> Her voice, horribly modulated from damaged vocal circuits. Lowering her head, she turns back towards the pirates, letting loose a surge of crimson electricity that crashes into the red one, sending a high voltage charge straight through their armor and into their body.

(Red takes 6 damage.)
Sweetie's Status:
HP: 15
Status: Pissed off

Blue glances at Red, and without a moment's hesitation detaches what the group is quickly realizing are healing nanite disks, sending it in Red's direction. The nanites sink into his armor once more, and Red straightens up just ever so slightly, though the trickle of blood from the cracks in their armor is still unmistakeable.

"Oh, you're good-" The captain raises the hammer, the kinetic engine gathering up force with an ominous whine. "And I do enjoy more company-"

CRACK-THOOM!

The entire ship shakes as the captain brings the hammer down in a single, impossibly powerful swing. The entire floor buckles outwards with an audible groan as the metal is strained to breaking point, but still it holds - the same for which cannot be said for the occupants of the room. Everyone except for the Captain is sent flying by the massive shockwave, smashing painfully into the walls as the Captain simply leers at the group, the hammer hissing as excess heat is vented out. "But I do think that this tea party is getting out of hoof." He surveys the battlefield, his cold eyes passing over the broken, unmoving form of the red guard, and another mocking smile comes to his lips.

(EVERYONE takes 14 damage and is Dazed until the end of Captain's next turn. Red is dead. Blue is mega bloodied. Sweetie Bot is Critical!)

Copperette watched in awe as Sweetie returned to battle in spite of damage. The world slowed for a moment, the electric energies slowly flying from Sweetie's horn to the pirates. Copperette watched as the leader lifted the hammer, watching it fall in slow motion. Her horn lit, and she prepared a shield...

A blinding light flashed across her vision as her shield absorbed the shockwave, and her horn blazed with light as she held on to the energies swirling around her. A white dome had formed around her, and she stood as a dark silhouette standing within.

""I agree,"" Copperette growled, her voice distorted by the shield. ""This ends now!"" she bellowed, focusing the absorbed energy into a single blast towards the Captain...

Trigger - An enemy damages you with a combat talent.
Effect - A random enemy takes the damage instead.

Per the GM's coin toss, the Captain takes 14 damage (instead of Copperette). Copperette is still dazed.

The captain slams the hammer down into the floor, anchoring himself to the floor as the blastwave crashes over him, cracking his armor. As the blast rolls past him, taking out the wall to the corridor and the wall behind that, the captain rolls his shoulders and breathes out. "See, that - that hurt. Bravo."

When Belgond had teleported into the room, he had not been expecting the massive, painful shockwave that came to meet him. Finding himself sent flying into a wall, Belgond was able to -barely- right himself midair so that he would slam into it hooves first. The impact still hurt like all the pits of tartarus and no doubt he was going to have to check on some of his implants later to see if they were damaged, but it hurt less then if he had hit the wall back first and it put him in the perfect position to raise his left hoof and aim it towards the captain with the hammer.

The hoof itself twisted counterclockwise, opening up a normally hidden chamber that reveled the leg itself to be hollow. Lining up his shot, Belgond felt nothing as he fired an incendiary round right for the captain's right knee. "Take the fool alive, he might have information that the station wants."

The superheated round clashes off his armor with a clang, and the captain narrows his eyes in irritation. "I've had it up to here with gnats. WARDOGS. ADVANCE GUARD!" There is a flurry of activity at the end of the hallway, and the thud of hooves against ship can be heard approaching.

With the appearance of Belgond, Seva's runtimes briefly lit up. Reinforcements. Yes, their chances of success were increasing! They would win, they would protect Copperette and Sweetie and –

The force of the hammer smacked Seva into wall. As they stood back up, trying to survey what was happening, it felt as though what intact systems were left were filled with damage report signals and errors. What was happening? They had to do something, the situation... Amidst the shapes, Seva just barely managed to visually identify a heavily hurt filly with their damaged optics. They shakily took a step forward, trying to reach her.

The errors piled up. Their systems were just too damaged, too overloaded. But they couldn't stop, they needed to do something. The child was hurt, and Seva told Swabs she would make sure the children got to safety. They needed to... needed to...

""D-deploying..."" Seva stuttered as they shakily held a hoof out towards Sweetie.

They couldn't even inject the nanomachines though. Seva collapsed to the floor, their consciousness dimming as their runtimes cut themselves off from the outside world and started to revert to the most basic, most power-saving modes. All they could hope for was that they might wake up again before they lost all power.

We are sorry, Swabs...

Copperette stood firm, ignoring the sound of hooves pounding towards them. She spied one of her disks in the corner - it was charred, with several holes melted into it, but the enchantment was still active - good enough. It rolled over towards her, ready to swat away incoming attacks as she stared down her opponent...

Sweetie Bot, her armor dented, her horn sparking, her power lines flickering alarmingly - drags herself upright, and points her horn at Blue. <AsSimIlATion iS InEviTAble> she utters, before a crackling bolt of crimson energy pierces the pirate's body, throwing Blue against the wall where he lies still.

(Blue takes 5 damage! Blue is down!)

Sweetie's Status:
HP: 1
Status: Dazed

The captain raises an eyebrow. "Interesting." The hammer, still steaming, comes screaming down again, and another shockwave rocks the group, throwing them off their balance. Taking the chance, the captain takes aim at Copperette, firing off a couple shots of plasma at the filly.

(Copperette and Sweetie are dazed, save ends. Copperette takes 7 damage.)

When Belgond had launched his attack against the Captain, he had been working under the assumption that Seva would be in a condition to actively heal both himself and Copperette (With the added possibility of performing repairs to Sweetie Bot as well). This was clearly not the case as the anti-changeling robot stopped moving.

If Seva had been a living creature of flesh and bone, Belgond might have simply charged up his medi-beam and that would have been more then enough to get them back on their hooves but Seva's mechanical nature made that... difficult. Taking a moment to look around the room as if searching for some unseen specter before he committed himself to an course of action that would no doubt get him in trouble with one of his superiors back him if they ever caught wind that he did it.

Belgond let loose a loud burst of binary, impossible to understand by untrained meatbag ears. The only beings in the room that would understand it was Sweetie Bot and Seva, through both of them might not have been in the exact condition required to translate what he said properly.

It was a prayer to beech the deus ex machina to offer Seva it's welcoming embrace to put it back together again.

For a moment, all is silent. THen, visible only to the digital eyes of Belgond and Sweetie, a flood of cosmic energies converge on the room suddenly, seeping into every mechanical and machine part in the room in a brilliant starburst of cosmic radiation waves. But even more surprising than the sudden flare of energy is the light slowly creeping back into Seva's eyes as their components once again become charged with power as cosmic energy soaks into the ACHE's prone form. It's not much, and Seva is still significantly drained of power - but it's enough to kickstart their systems and keep operational in the mean time...

What was this? This feeling that was coursing through their systems, pushing them reactivate and stand back up... Nothing in the incoming system reports indicated a repair method that made sense. So what happened? Was it one of the others? Had Runtime 0 done something?

The situation around them though – they were still in combat. They could examine the cause of their system restart later. The last remaining action they were trying to take came back to mind. Sweetie was still very damaged. Back up on their feet, Seva once again stepped up and pressed a hoof against Sweetie.

""Deploying repair colony,""

As another stain of silver spread out across a bit of Sweetie, Seva quickly decided what to do next. Once again, strangely, they felt R0 making plans, calculations. Consulting with R4 Bio, part of the basis of their biological imperative, and then others in turn to exercise an idea of survival. Modifying their emotional feeding to instead drain life force itself. A horrifying idea in many respects, but against this powerful enemy, in the face of needing to survive, the majority opinion among the runtimes was to go with this idea.

Seva faced towards the captain, splinters of their horn peeling back. The only other obvious visual cue at the moment was particles of light appearing in the air and starting to float in through the horn. They didn't know how long they could hold this up, but if they could repair themselves even just a little more...

The captain stops for a moment, before he starts chuckling. "Oh, very good - very good! For a species designed as counter-infiltration, I have to commend your tenacity, ACHE."

Sweetie's twisted leg wrenches itself back into the proper shape as the bent memory metal slowly reforms itself, the nano machines speeding the process along immensely. Her power lines even out, and the hum of energy intensifies from her horn. <Assistance appreciated>

Copperette stumbled over the shockwave as the rockets hit, sending her across the floor.

She looked up through blurry eyes, her heart pounding heart the only thing she could hear as she struggled to her feet...

Sweetie fires off another blast of crimson that glances off the Captain's armor harmlessly.

(Captain takes 3 damage)

Sweetie's Status:
HP: 8
Status: Dazed (8 to save... failed)

There is a shout from the hallway, and the sound of armored hooves striking metal grows louder. There is a sudden roar, and a pair of feral looking armored unicorns hurl themselves into the room, putting themselves between the Captain and the intruders, hissing angrily.

The Captain smiles thinly, and whirling the hammer about with unfeasible dexterity, lashes out with a sweeping strike that catches Belgond, Seva, and Copperette in a wide arc before drawing his pistol and firing on Copperette. As he holsters the pistol, the magical draining starts to take its effect as Seva feels slightly more empowered.

(All three take 8 damage. Copperette takes 6 damage. The captain takes 5 ongoing damage and fails to save against Ongoing Damage.)

The Wardogs growl angrily, and one of the wardogs' horn begins to glow, a stream of unnatural black energy draining out of its body and into the nearest ally, the Captain. The other wardog then throws itself at Belgond, screeching angrily and swiping at him with sharp armored limbs, and Belgond finds himself hard pressed to attend to the other combatants without being damaged by the wardog.

(Belgond takes 4 damage.)

INTERRUPT!

The hammer blow from the Captain had managed to cause him a great deal of pain and damage, causing the Zebra to fear for the stability of his internal power source and the potenshal damage that it could do to him and quite possibly the room around him if it was destroyed or overloaded due to structural harm. The attacking 'wardog' unicorn did not assist matters in the slightest. In a moment consumed by anger Belgond wireless sent a file to Seva; An coded order to override the healers normal functions in order to attack and put down the unicorn that was assaulting him.

As he waited for the program to do its thing, Belgond turned his attention inwards as he started to activate emergency systems to stablise and repair what damage they could before things got to far out of hoof. It wasn't quite enough to overcome the damage that he had just sustained, but it did go a long way... far enough in fact for him to activate his combat protocols. His cybernetics started to shift around while the hum of dangerously high electricity started to fill the air.

[–4 (7)] Combat Systems Online (Hammer of Thunder) - Minor Utility
You conjure a Thunder Hammer in your hands. You can dismiss the Thunder Hammer as a free action. While you are wielding a Thunder Hammer, you cannot use your other combat talents. Instead you may use the combat talents below. (Only -4 due to trinket)

Seva hurt, but they refused to lay down. They seemed to twitch back onto their hooves as they suddenly received the order from Belgond. They immediately turned upon the unicorn over Belgond and found themselves adapting the life-drain attack for this particular need. Strangely, R0 started to contribute more strange, but undoubtedly useful calculations on how to do this—not only receiving a maximum yield from the attack, but finding a way to efficiently make use of the drained life force. Once again, they reactivated the overload in their Pathos Reactor. For the second time that battle, Seva found their front exterior peeling away to reveal the glow within, pouring out those streams of light that sought our their allies and enveloped them in soft, golden warmth, either bringing out miraculous repairs or mending flesh.

Turning about, feeling literally reinvigorated by the life force they were draining from the captain, as well as figuratively by what they were managing to do, they once again went over to Sweetie, deploying more healing nanomachines into the filly-bot as they internally adjusted their current combat protocol suite.

Interrupting the Captain's sweep attack:

Effect - A random enemy takes the damage instead.

The wardog attacking Belgond howls in pain as energy blasts it directly in the back, dropping to the ground as a sizable burn mark blossoms across its lower back.

Sweetie Bot turns around and fires off another salvo of electrical bursts, this time aimed at the wardog that seemed to energize the captain, and after catching the wardog in the face, then in the neck, the wardog goes down.
(Wardog takes 3 damage)

Sweetie's Status:
HP: 13
Status: Dazed (8 to save... failed)

The Captain, seeing this, snaps "Get up you worthless mutt!" and the wardogs, despite sustaining injuries that would cripple a pony, slowly gets back up, their eyes filled with barely restrained fury.

The captain glares at the ACHE and the fillybot, and hefting his hammer, he leaps into the air and puts his entire body into a single massive impact that causes alarms to start blaring, a mechanical voice declaring that the hull integrity is at 5%. The shockwave surges forward, striking both Seva and Sweetie Bot, as well as Copperette and they find that they can't quite find their footing well enough to formulate a proper counterattack, the vibrations lingering far longer than it should and rattling their frame.

(The captain takes 5 ongoing damage and fails to save against Ongoing Damage. All three take 8 damage and are weakened until the end of the Captain's next turn.)
Sweetie's Status:
HP: 5
Status: Dazed, Weakened.

The wardogs howl again, and the first one throws itself against Seva, though stumbling and only managing to land a weak kick before drawing back, keeping Seva's attention on it. The other seems to cough up a wad of blood, even as unnatural black energy seeps from its body's pores before empowering the captain. Then, throwing its head back, a loud roar escapes its throat, and it backs up to defend the captain, seemingly willing to sacrifice itself to protect him.

(Seva takes 2 damage. If Seva deals damage to a creature other than the wardog attacking them, Seva will take 1d8 damage.)
