Brony's Spitball thread.

I know we have a thread for this buried somewhere, but if there's going to be a lot of questions or brainstorming I'd like to keep it contained.

As per my previous post in the other thread, these are my general ideas, raw and unpolished as of yet.

Pony Games (Run in either PT or Wanderlust):

Non Pony Games (Wanderlust):

For me I rank Dragon's Feud first, then Equestria at War. I enjoy being lighthearted...

Would be interested in War, Avatar (might actually get me to learn the WL system), or Feud.

Equestria at War sounds interesting, if only for the whole alternate future thing that gives you a lot of free reign.

Dragon Feud sounds like fun. Lighthearted is always nice.

I'd prefer Pony Tales simply because I'm not familiar with Wanderlust. That being said, I have no problem working with a new system.

But the important question is: is this Play by Post or Skype?

My preferences are roughly

Excited: Equestria at War, Dragon Feud,
Interested: Avatar,   Sun Sets II (prefer sequel to prequel), Elder Scrolls

Either PT or WL is fine. (Slight preference to WL)

From preliminary responses it looks like its going to be either Feud or War. Unless I hear from anyone else, I think I'll narrow the choices down to those two.

This is good for me, because while I was brainstorming ideas, the background stuff for both of those settings ended up being fairly similar, so I can start planning some stuff now, and work out the finer details once everyone's decided which they want to play.

Since it'll be a pony game, I'm willing to go with Wanderlust or PT, so any strong opinions either way?

I'm more familiar with Pony Tales but if the majority wants to use Wanderlust, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Despite replacing PT, I don't think Wanderlust has seen nearly the playtime that PT had. I know some people would need to learn it, and I would need to learn the finer points of DMing it, which could work well with a light game like Feud.

Personally I prefer pony-tales but I would be... alright with having to learn wander lust if someone else feels a strong desire.

I've played a little of both, I'm also the type who makes various builds for fun. I'm good with either, slight preference for WL

I'm treating all "Good with either, but sort of prefer x" comments as hard votes for the preference, so right now it looks like it's 2-1 in favor of Pony Tales. Any other votes?

...I really need to finish Season 5. They had the finale already? Damn. Well, until that happens, I do find The Sun Sets II to be interesting.

Unfortunately, we've pretty much already narrowed it down to the Dragon Feud or Equestrian War settings.

However, while Equestrian War is cool and all, I've been thinking more on the Dragon Feud one. I'm definitely more interested in running a light, show-like game, and so far what I have for it seems pretty up to par. I think that's the one I'm going to go with.

Pony Tales vs Wanderlust is still up for debate, though.

I don't mind which one out of the two, so I'm gonna put my vote for the D&D 4E system...

4E is hot garbage.

I'm glad I checked in on this thread because I wasn't getting any notifications by mail anymore.

Does every character (concept) be approved first or can we just play whatever?

I'm still toying with the idea of barring certain races (Dragons and Diamond Dogs, namely), as well as trying to keep the party as close to "normal ponies" as possible, but I think I did too much of that in my last game.

For now, once the OOC is up, post your concepts and we'll see.
