Massive Combat Expansion is Coming...
Hey folks, guess what? We plan to release a beta-test of an expansion that will more than double the number of combat talents in the voice-chat system in the next few days.

Of course, just when I thought I got my character's talents optimized for what I wanted him to do in battle...This is going to be such fun.

A few questions, regarding it:
How many PiP booster talents can we expect, compared to [-PiP] ones?
Will the majority of the talents be offense, defense, supportive or healing oriented?
Will the combat expansion coincide with updates to old destinies / pony races?
With the increase of combat talents available, will there be an increase of total combat talents characters can pick (maximum and/or per-battle)? Like having them increase as you level up?

The expansion should be up before tomorrow morning, so I'll hold off on most of these questions as APW mentions.
However, I will answer one question.

In general though, we tend to avoid [0] talents in order to promote variety in combat. If a combat talent either adds or subtracts pips - you won't want to do it every turn (because you'll either have stored up a bunch of pips to use on an Ultimate or will have run out of pips). The momentum of pip totals changing keeps the combat flowing and adds more variety, whereas [0] talents tend to keep things where they are already unless there's some other factor that makes you unlikely to use it multiple times in a row. Either way, [0] talents tend to work better as [+1] or [-1] talents.
