Diamond Dust suppressed a sigh of relief as the robot turned to focus on him. While it was good the Princesses were not being targeted, he didn't want to wreck Horsetron the legendary hero the first time he ever rode in him either. Looking around the dashboard, Dust saw a button labeled Charge, right next to a Discharge button. Seemed like a good place to start, so Dust slammed the first button.

Lumbering along, it seemed like some panels on the top of the mech opened and shifted around as if it were preparing for something.

Just like the fire earlier, the thing seemed to be building up power. Which meant that it was up to Dust to make the first move. And the shiny Discharge button was just begging to be pushed...

From his angle, Dust couldn't quite see what happened. All the sensors things seemed to say was that the output Energy had been discharged, and the shield energy had (somehow) become much higher but sure looked like Horsetron zapped the other mech from some sort of lightning cannon from above the cockpit, But while all themore complicated details eluded him, Dust still grinned. He could do this, at least.

Sky Wolf nodded when the Princess commanded for him to just keep hold of the statuettes for later discussion. The fact that they had this machine and its new laser was a more pressing matter. Through the pegasus smiled in grim satisfaction when Diamond Dust managed to create a forcefield to easily deflect the first laser that slammed forwards. “As I said, the strategy is simple. Diamond will protect us and destroy the laser, then when its close enough to use its flamethrower, we will force the fire back on itself and completely gut it.”

Terra keeps her focus upon the approaching machine as she responds. "Would you happen to have a plan if they happened to learn from past experiences and not use the flamethrower?"

Eclair frowns a little as her offer to help is rejected.

"Pardon, but you could zap it oui? It is made of metal. Make a storm over ze grounds and focus fire on it when it gets in range."

“That would be something to be taken into consideration... if it was actually how we stopped it last time. Horsetron and the guard took care of it, and the flamethrower was never turned back on itself.” Sky Wolf explained, surprised that Terra didn’t remember their first encounter... and the pegasus knew he didn’t exactly make the best impression.

The enemy mech buckled upon taking the assault from Horsetron. It wobbled unsteadily but soon the panels opened another bright beam erupted from the top. The temperature all around warmed up and the top of the mech had a mild glow.

Steel Lance pondered, "I doubt it'll be heavily affected by lightning strikes but if that thing is using a sunstone, some cloud cover should lower its power."

Diamond Dust winced. While Horsetron itself wasn't too damaged, the attack ripped through all the shielding He had managed to put up. Glancing around the dash, Dust saw a button labeled "Shields" and slammed it, hoping to by some time as Horsetron recharged.

“Good work Diamond, but try to focus on the sunstone, you aim is only to destroy it, nothing more than that.” Sky Wolf said, both happy with what the Horsetron as able to do, showing a great amount of power, but a little annoyed that the targeting seemed a little off... no matter. The pegasus spread his wings, taking to the sky... but not to follow Lance’s suggestion about blocking out the sun. Instead, he simply ‘hopped’ up onto the Horsetron’s back so that he could full focus his power and energy into the mech... though he was pleased in that he was able to help everyone else as well.

Eclair nods with a smile, giving an enthusiastic nod as she stretches her wings. Her hesitance gone with the chance to help.

"Zat will be a breeze, oui? One cloudy day coming right up!"

with that said she shoots off into the air with a beat of her wings and begins to gather up clouds and moisture, the sun being overcast by the growing cover in seconds. Eclair leaving faint white contrails behind her as she zips around the cloudbank.

As the skies began to darken with clouds, several panels adjusted on the top of the mech. Suddenly there was a blinding flash of light and the mech began to retreat.

Attempting to shake Diamond Dust's chase, the buglike mech attempted a sharp turn that instead caused it to tilt and tip over. It unsuccessfully attempted to right itself as the blinded royal guard began to surround it.

Eclair's eyes widen at the flash and she moves to land on the cloud cover with a startled yelp, trying to blink her eyes clear. Once she can see more than just spots she attempts to get her bearings and find the princess.

Perception:

Spotting the princess, she angles her wings to glide down with a cheerful hum. Said hmm is quickly replaced by a short shriek of terror as she flies straight into one of the decorative banners which happened to have Terra and Wishes depicted on them. The ropes holding the banner up come loose, sending her in a pitiful arc straight towards one of the refreshment tables before finally rolling to a stop after plowing straight through it.

"....umm....'allo? Pardon....A little help please?"

She calls as she struggles to disentangle herself.

Terra recoiled from the initial flash expecting a more substantial effect but after hearing the fall of the Mech she started to half futility look around.

Terra notices the calls and struggling of a downed pony and carefully makes her way over to the Pegasus's crash-site .

I'm here to help,but I'm going to need you to stop struggling. She says in a soft reassuring voice.

Eclair blinks and stops trying to worm her way out of the banner when she recognizes the Princess' voice.

"Ah, Princess! Of course, merci! Ze clouds are successfully covering, oui? Is everypony okay?"

Diamond Dust found himself on the ground upon request and the Horsetron unit was gone. The royal guard swarmed the downed mech and captured those inside. While the crowd seemed shaken by the attack, thankfully none were seriously hurt. After some time of bringing the situation to a calmer state, the princesses and various bearers of Horsetron were escorted back to the castle. Upon returning, there were determinations to be made about how to progress from here.

Terra begins cutting away the ropes tangled around Eclair. "The danger has passed" The princess then pauses as she finishes. "You are one of the Royal Chefs are you not? I will have to remember you and your bravery." She finishes with a smile.

"So then, that was not an abject disaster. We managed to be lucky with the mecha hopefully, the next time they try attacking we will not need luck." Terra then looks at Sky Wolf. "Now would be an opportune time to examine the new statuettes."

During the chaos of the fight, Sky Wolf had initially put the statuette’s down in order to be able to fight and move effective. Even if he focused on his magic beyond anything else. However, once the machine stumbled, and was caught and destroyed. With those piloting it captured, and the Horsetron vanished, the pegasus made sure to grab the two statuette’s that the terrorists had with them.

“Not that much to examine.” He observed when the Princess asked to look at them, placing them on the table for all to see. “Its pretty clear that one symbol matches your cutie mark Princess, whilst the other matches the cutie mark of our cook here.” Another reason why Sky Wolf didn’t believe he was to get involved in all this... he didn’t have a cutie mark, so he couldn’t be a user of Horsetron.

"Each time somepony has interacted with the statuette bearing their cutie mark something magic has occurred." Terra responses staring at her statuette. She then flashes a smile, "Wish me luck," and reaches out to touch her statue.

Once Princess Terra touched the statuette, she was struck by a rainbow colored bolt of lightning and disappeared. However, once it hit her, it split off and hit several others and they vanished as well. Only Ancient Record remained to await the rest's return.
