River silently stepped through the wall to join Wanderlust and Cobalt. Her mind reached out to provide a telekinetic boost to Wanderlust's efforts as she scanned the room for further trouble...

Yuna, Silver
"What? What did she-" Cherry looks up at the police officer. "I killed him! I killed- I..." She breaks down into a sobbing fit, pushing Silver away. The officer gently puts a hoof on Cherry. "Ma'am, would you please come with me?" Slowly she gets up, still sobbing, and walks away with the officer. The other cops, at a nod from the one escorting Cherry, release the crowd (which doesn't really want to leave anyway, most never even noticed their presence) and start taking pictures of the crime scene and collecting evidence.

River, Wanderlust, Cobalt
The telekinetic boost does little, as Cobalt is essentially a wet noodle at the moment. She clearly does not want to move, but is too drunk to actually resist.

Wanderlust pushes his way under Cobalt, now that someone else is supporting her, and stands up straight, lifting the near-unconscious form who is, unfortunately, notably heavier than the petite River*. He grunts, buckling a little under the weight, before adjusting and turning towards River. "Well, gray fur is a nice change from purple, I suppose. Should we go to your place or mine? I doubt she'll be more comfortable waking up at either of them."

*I remember people noting that River was very light, so I assume your average earth pony is heavier.

I'm not unconscious. And I have grey fur.

"Ooooh, ssomeone'sh beinga lil forward. You haveneven taken me ta din-inner yet..." Cobalt's front hooves dangle from Wanderlust, and she reaches weakly to wave at River. "Heeeyy."

River doesn't answer.

The buzzing had caught her attention. She seemed to be staring at something in the distance as she tried to reach out.

Who's doing that? she asked, not sure if the noisemaker could hear her - or if it would answer anyways - but it wouldn't hurt to try. Stop it!

Wanderlust sighs, and heads for the door. He more or less remembers the route back to River's house.

River could sense Wanderlust leaving behind her. She turned to leave; if the ones doing all the buzzing were going to answer, they wouldn't care where she was when it happened.

"What do you thimk that is?" she asked out loud as she fell in behind Wanderlust, providing a nudge here and there to keep Cobalt on his back.

"A sign that we should leave immediately. Possibly related to the changeling's warning about his hive coming for us. Let's head for my room instead." He decides on a whim.

OOC:

"Party at Wandy's rooooom. Woooo..." Cobalt cheers weakly, pointing off in a random direction. "I think iss that way."

Yuna drops to the ground clutching her ear to her head. "owowowowowowowowowowowowowowowoowowowowowowoooo WHATISTHATNOISEINMAYEARS????"

"That's the changelings," comments Silver to anyone listening, "What are they doing here?"

River, Cobalt, Wanderlust
We're just flying, ma'am- wait, what? sounds in River's head, not too dissimilar to the original changeling's voice. Who are you?

The group reaches the hotel Wanderlust is staying at in about 90 seconds, and by now everyone can hear the buzzing sound, and the group can see the group of 6 changelings flying for the bar they just left. These are certainly not Chrysalis' changelings, since the first noticeable trait is that they have golden eyes and wings, wings which are shaped like those of butterflies. The buzzing seems to be from the changelings having to flap them much faster than ordinary butterflies would. They are also wearing brass armor, and look very determined - if a touch confused.

Silver, Yuna
One of the police officers, Golden Shield, walks over to Yuna, looking concerned, but looks up at what Silver says. "The... the changelings?" She goes pale, and Silver instantly recognizes her as one of the mares who, as a filly, went into the changeling territory. Even worse, her first coltfriend turned out to be one of Chrysalis' changelings. Silver's experiences with her were more therapy than fun.

((So players are aware: I have just decided that River would know nothing of Chrysalis or her invasion attempt. The GM knows why, or should.))

River's eyes widened at the response. She turned around to watch them pass overhead. She suddenly felt excited.

"Wanderlust! They thought back!" she said in an almost ecstatic tone, making a mad dash back the way they had come to meet them there.

Who am I? Who are you!? I've been looking everywhere for other mindspeakers and found none! Who are you, what are you doing here, where did you come from!? Are you guys nice because the other changeling wasn't very nice and I found another mindspeaker please don't EEEEEE- Her thoughts devolved at that point from words into simple emotion, projecting a mixture of excitement and slight distrust towards her new converser...

Yuna looks up toward Silver and the cops "Are they badguys?" she asks just loud enough to be heard.

"They what? Oh..." Wanderlust says, grimacing as River shoots off. He looks into the sky, and the picture spreads out in his head. His eyes widen and he darts into the entrance of the hotel, barging through the back door to the small kitchen and unceremoniously dumping Cobalt onto a table. "Make certain she doesn't hurt herself." he says authoritatively, not checking to see if anyone can hear him, before racing back outside and chasing after River, essentially retracing his steps to bar. Before he moved with long, even strides, but now his motion is more agitated, with shorter hoofbeats and a quicker pace.

Cobalt just looks around, bewildered. "Whaa... this isn't your apra- apartment." Looking around, she spots what seems to be a cute hippogriff in a chef's coat. "Oh, heyyy~"

Wait, hold on, other changeling? Do you know where he is? We don't know his exact whereabouts. One of the changelings looks down at River, then they all fly down to her. gold

Silver, Yuna
Golden Shield runs off to her police chief, then those police ponies not involved in processing the crime scene or arresting Wild Cherry all run off toward the water front.

"Cause of the Princess-shes," Cobalt giggles and wobbily stands up walking over to him. "Whoo're you?"

Inside, she thought, pointing at the bar. I can show - oh... The fight surged forward in her mind, leaking out to the other changeling in front of her. I-I'm sorry...

Yuna watches the police ponies run off, before looking at Sliver with a glint in her eye. "We should follow them."

Silver meets Yuna's glint with a look of concern. "There is no way that is safe for anypony, let alone a filly like you."

Cobalt
"I'm the head chef of this kitchen, and you need to get out." He sighs and looks around. "...I guess we're actually not that busy at the moment, though. You seem dangerously drunk, I guess I can at least do something about that before you go." The hippogriff goes around the kitchen collecting seemingly random ingredients, and makes a drink out of them. "Here, drink this." cc9900

The changeling shook its head. Don't be sorry, he was a fugitive from the hive. Your fight with him pushed him to reconnect to the hive, allowing the Queen to disconnect his mind from his body. We need to find his body quickly, though, because his mind is corrupting the rest of us. Please take us to his body now, if you could. After a moment the changeling adds, The Queen says that we have some information that might interest you, in return for your help. gold
