We're all settled in, I think it's time to progress to morning (or to whatever attacks us in the night).

I guess I was just waiting for whoever was going to build the shelter to... well, build it. But I can certainly skip 'til morning.

Re: The Curse and the Treasure - Interest Thread
I suppose this is about two months late, but... is anyone willing to continue this? Or, like with several other ideas of mine, has interest just inexplicably evaporated? Should I perhaps revealed what I had planned?

Id like to keep going. I always prefer to continue old games and get mileage out of character sheets rather than have to go to the effort of making new ones.

If you do plan to do this I would like to profess interest.

Re: The Curse and the Treasure - Interest Thread
Well... it's been three months. Honestly, even if there was any interest left, I'm not sure I have the will to play the game out. Part of the problem is that I don't really have a middle game planned out... and arguably don't really have an endgame planned out. So, in lieu of actually being able to show you what I'd planned... I'm going to tell you. Within spoiler tags in case you want to keep it a secret and think I can be persuaded to finish this.
- The immediate future:
- So, you were to get into town without incident... or maybe with a fight with a monster beforehand. In any event, you soon speak to Dawn. Upon being told that Elric sent you (why did I choose that name? Sigh...) she shakes her head and mutters a bit, but agrees to help all the same. She points you to a resident of the village who's spent much of his life searching for the treasure. Unfortunately, it seems that despair has taken hold of him, and he's wandered off into a dangerous area, a former fortress now overrun by the cursed.
After fighting through the forces of the cursed, you reach the keep, where you encounter Elric again. He reminisces a bit on the history of the fortress, but he's interrupted by a defensive golem stirring to life and attacking the party. After it's defeated, you meet the man you're searching for as he stands atop the keep. He reveals that he has a general idea of where the treasure is... it's in one of the mountains in an ash-filled wasteland. Legend holds that the last king of the land took the treasure into the wastelands to keep it from the Shades. The problem is, going into that place without knowing where to go would spell death as your supplies run out, so you need a map or some clue as to where the treasure was placed. The man has been searching for such a hint for a long time, but has come up with nothing. And so he turned to despair of ever finding the treasure... but there are places he has not looked.
- The endgame:
- At last, you find a map. After that comes a grueling trip across the wastelands. Dawn accompanies you, having assisted you thus far, and saying that this is something she needs to see finished. At last you reach a hidden shrine. A pair of enchanted suits of armor defend the site, but you soon triumph over them.
And then... Elric appears. He claps, applauding you on finding the treasure... and saying that while he respects your ability, he says that they will not be able to keep the treasure... because, in truth, the treasure is something that was stolen by the last king from the Shades, a source of power and life for the Shades, who need it to create more Shades. As lord of the Shades, he had spent long and hard trying to find it, even going so far as to take human form... but now, you have found it for him. And he asks that you return it to him, so that the curse may be lifted. And so the players have a choice... to return the treasure and lift the curse, or keep it and become gods... and the price of the enmity of the Shades and the curse slowly spreading...
