Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
I approve of Judo Throw: though potentially a battle extender, its unique effect on strategy and potential to 'save the day' makes it a good move... Just don't use it too much.
In my campaigns at least, a critical means two things: a large boost to your roll, and extra information no matter what. If you're trying something that is almost impossible to succeed at anyway, a critical still won't let you make it... but it WILL tell you a lot about why and probably show you a way to succeed in the future.
As for pony diets... Everything I know about pony biology I know from Fallout: Equestria.

I've read incredibly little fanfiction but I guess that info will come into play as needed.

Aside from 'Ponies are omnivores' and 'Yes, you CAN turn everypony into alicorns if you try hard enough' there isn't TOO much that FoE rules add.

I'm sorry, bit of a dumb question, but should I be under the impression that our characters have already met and talked this over with the guild master?

No wrenches or screwdrivers may mess with my head for a bit. I'll manage but it's interesting that When All You Have Is Hammer is canon here. Are there saws?

I think there were saws during the barnraising song in the show. I'd assume that carries over.ZamuelNow wrote:No wrenches or screwdrivers may mess with my head for a bit. I'll manage but it's interesting that When All You Have Is Hammer is canon here. Are there saws?

Anyway:
From what I gather, not unless you want to
Gusty just entered town and immediately made a beeline for the restaurant, Keen just arrived as well.
Also, Z, I'm not sure what you are planning to do with the Djinni system, are they like items, levelups, individual utilities?
I had a lot of fun setting up really weird element combinations in Lost Age, just to see what abilities/classes would turn up
There was also talk about an element-specific IW system awhile ago, but it was never expanded upon all that much.

@ Kaji: The FIRST Djinn you get will be both minor npcs, and basically flavor. Future Djinn will be your sources of talent spec or element upgrade points.
@ Colter: You have descriptions of each other, but have not explicitly met any of the other characters yet... I suppose you have likely all met the guildmaster separately.

Colter Bolt wrote:"Now, I hope you two don't talk when anypony else is around." Dancing says, having composed himself after hearing two voices coming from his flank. "It won't be fun explaining that two magical spirits have taken residence in me." Dancing heads out in the direction the others went, hoping that he's not too far behind.
I think it would be extremely fun

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
kajisora, I'm a little curious. Was it accidental or deliberate that Gustatory Gale's nickname (Gusty) is the same as a G1 pony?

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
There's a pony named Gusty in G1?
Aside from a movie I saw when I was little (something with a stone dog) , I know nothing about G1.
It's on my list of stuff "To watch when I have absolutely nothing to do."

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
I recently finished watching G1 (the two initial specials, The Movie, and the series) so a lot is fresh on my mind. Gusty was a unicorn who tended to flip between Jerk With A Heart Of Gold and Jerk With A Heart Of Jerk. Made more apparent by her voice actress later going on to voice Bart Simpson. Her special talent was summoning wind/gusts. Don't remember if she was in the movie but she was a regular in the series. She was not in the two specials. I think the better G1 episodes are definitely worth watching though the series had obvious flaws at times. Didn't get as much character development as FiM but was more adventure focused overall so it got away with being surprisingly dark at times.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
Others are aware, but I feel that I should post here that a slight retcon was voted in: Gusty actually went on the boat, and Dancing actually went into the caves. None of you reading this need to worry about incongruity or editing your past work, I am merely alerting you to avoid possible confusion.
The change was done so that an available crew of three could perform the combat on the Skype (which we would still like Zamuel to join), allowing the battle to take an hour or so rather than a week.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
While I do admit doing battle over skype was a nice move... But I do suggest that you do a write-up of how the combat happened... Assuming you aren't already making such a thing. If you are, sorry to imply you weren't.
Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
When will the Skype calls be? My internet is very finnicky, others sometimes use the bandwith, and there's my work schedule. I guess I can PM my handle to Z2.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
No calls, and really it was more used for IMing than anything else. I just assume this would pop up when combat happens. Or when combat is nearly about to happen or something like that.
Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
There is no write up of combat that would be better for the story or more informative to any necessary degree than just resuming the narrative with the awesome final blow. But if you're curious: It was a battle of attrition that was like 70% guarding right up until Silver unleased a super combo and killed all five enemies simultaneously... Right before they would have gotten to do 48d4 damage to assorted party members.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
Having tested my puzzle, I found one problem that is likely best noted here:
The colors of the vines in the swamp cave aren't significant, they only exist so you can tell the vines apart.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
Been a little busy recently but even with that I'm actually pretty embarrassed about the puzzle. It's a situation where I had no clue what I was doing and was too embarrassed to ask for help or clarification. Didn't know where to go with the whole thing after different vines were pulled and it was said that nothing happened. Figured a flower would change, a vine in a different location would be shorter as one got pulled, the creature in the lake would have started stirring, something. I guess there was also the back of the mind worry that screwing up could get you killed so I was more worried about failing than succeeding. Might have been psyching myself out since while death is a possibility, there's no indication that this is a campaign where things are needlessly cruel. I'll have to just approach the next one differently. I actually like the idea of having puzzles mixed in but as stated I was utterly stumped.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
I feel a bit silly. The Warriors of Harmony are common knowledge, and consist of the heroes mentioned in the campaign intro. There is no such thing as the "Warriors of Harmon" Trixie was basically interrupting herself mid word. I'm sorry that came across so poorly...

Re: Wanderers of Weyard - OOC
Well if she really said Harmon... Then for the moment, Icy is just a bit confused at seeing an alicorn appear out of nowhere, drop off some pony and two Magic-Imp thingies, and flies away. Her mind's rebooting at the moment.

No this campaign is not dying: in fact, our new earth adept has arrived!

The temptation to just up and fly into that hole just to see what would happen is immense.
Sadly, I'm too attached to Gusty to actually do it
