Quite simply, this thread is for anyone that wants to ask a quick question about rules or something game-related and anyone can answer it.

Disclaimer: This is not a question but a comment. Because Ramsus is obviously the best at first posts.

I'd prefer we don't kill Meditate. Just because something causes lots of questions to be asked doesn't make it bad. We'd have to ask and answer those questions eventually as people make more stuff anyway. Better sooner than later.

Offtopic though it may be, Ramsus's point is, I think, valid.

Question: Why does the "Secret Shelter" (Explorer Destiny) cost a Magic Point, instead of having a session limit (compare to planeswalker)?

It kinda limits/prevents its use (especially since a shelter usually is used/needed to get the explorer and his party their magic points back). And when you use it to rest, you re-gain a magic point anyway, meaning you/your party can literally use it infinitely (or as much as the in-game passing of time allows).

So, I've noticed that in various places in the documents, mention has been made of Medium- and Small-sized characters, creatures, etc. Do these size differences have any tangible effect on anything, or are they pretty much just flavor?

Basically flavor, but they do correspond to the D&D terminology. Pony Tales was originally conceived as a quick and convenient way for me to run a 1-shot pony campaign, so we just built it mostly for people that knew D&D. We didn't anticipate how big it would get, or that it might be peoples' first ever introduction into RPGs! There's a lot of basic terms we should eventually clarify like that.

It is my first into to playing RPGs... I knew of D&D beforehand, but had never played it. Even now still don't count myself has having played any.

So how do Hop, Skip and Jump and the natural 20 rules interact. In addition how does Derp interact in here?

I think the advanage of Hop, Skip, And Jump is that it can't trigger derp, or a nat 1, but equally can't trigger a nat 20 eaither, but you can get over 20 in the roll...

According to the writing of Derp:

Rolling a 2 or 3 counts as a critical failure the same way rolling a 1 usually does

Without any direct claim to D20s or anything, so in its own way it gets around the "you are rolling 3d10 not 1d20" idea. Also it would technically apply to damage rolls and tons of fun rolls.

Hey, just saying. I don't think it should apply, but as written it does for ToF. Damage is only if GM is a jerk.

I think this is just a problem of you reading too much into bad wording... It is intended to work only with skill checks and if it effected combat, that'd go aganst the soul of this game, where most of the system doesn't have combat and non-combat cross over with eachother. And there isn't any way that a "cirt-fail" tons of fun would work... That'd just be dumb...

I actually think the wording is fine, because a d20 roll, in out of combat situations, are the only places that you can crit fail and thus the only die rolls that are affected by derp.

Well I do think the "Build-Your-Own-Race" one is still waiting the final words on just what will be it's limits and junk. Still waiting to see it turn into a 8-point system... And they declare their plans for future buffs to the other races.

Question: According to the wording for the "We’re Just Good At This Stuff" racial...

We’re Just Good At This Stuff (1)
Choose a skill. Characters of your race gain training in that skill.

Is this wording intentional? Does that mean if you have, say, 6 minotaurs, and each picks a different skill, that every minotaur will get 6 skills trained? Or would it limit the racial to a single trained skill, applied to everyone (in which case, who gets rights to pick?)?

Answer: Different Races of Minotaur. They all have different genetics and/or survive in a different environment, so they all have training in a different skill...
