Re: A question
To counter your question with two questions....
You know there is a question/answer thread right?
Are you just saying this because of some GM ruling you didn't like?

Re: A question
Ramsus is still right. You really don't need a full thread for one specific question...

What's the question?
Does someone randomly dying because they got super-uper angry - even if a reason like 'they had an anuyesum' is given? Or to go into the reason why I posted the question in the first place... they got so angry because a earth-pony got a CMC in provoking them?

Re: A question
So the DM decided that a CMC of persuasion killed somepony... I think that's a bit much. I can see why you'd take issue with that. Seeing as CMCs are generally supposed cause an effect that is always in your favour, and since you weren't trying to persuade them to have an aneurism it probably shouldn't have done that.
So, I guess I can see where you would have a problem. Though this brings up another question I've been thinking of making a thread on... What are some good ways to go about CMC effect. I mean for Athletics and Acrobatics and even arcana, it's pretty easy to describe an AWESOME event that they perform (sonic rainboom, some sort of super spell, etc.). But what if they get it on let's say History, or Endurance. I suppose you could make up a bunch of detailed knowledge stuff about the local area and people, but that can be tough for a DM to do on the spot. And endurance, unless it's a suitably epic action (like holding a metal door shut against an incoming fire elemental) it's probably going to be hard to make the CMC seem as epic as the other, more action-y skills.
As for Endurance, I figured that a good way to handle a CMC of endurance is to allow that player who triggered it one free use of a X/day talent in the next 5 minutes or something.
CMCs can be hard to handle, but should always be a great thing when they get it and shouldn't cause an effect that the player didn't want to happen. After all, it is that awe-inspiring moment when a pony's pure skill and finesse shines through. (In terms of general mechanics I treat it as a +20 modifier to the check then usually give some sort of perk dependent on the situation. (like that endurance one above))

Re: A question
So wait, you were provoked to death, or you provoked someone to death... and then you died?

Re: A question
@Silentbelle Well, that wasn't the question, I was just giving an example... The DM said that as the provoktion was a bad thing, then a CMC should be epicly bad. I didn't buy it through.
@Bronymous: Another character got a CMC in provoking someone, DM killed the provoked someone. I protests. Argument happened. DM went 'Screw it' and killed my character.

Re: A question
Er... If that means that you made this thread about someone else... That's actually against the rules, Fury...
I'm sorry, fury, but while I agree that that's a bit extreme-although I see both sides of that- this thread is technically against the rules, and I need to lock it down and give you a warning. I'm sorry.Moderation rule: 3. Do not make a thread attacking or complaining about admins, mods, or forum members. If you have a dispute, PM a moderator.
