The trees are mostly too thick, but there does seem to be a dim sort of glow coming from a good distance to the...Northwest, it looks like. Can't say for certain if that's Nihl's camp or something else, but it is what it is.

Wandering Eye is somewhat surprised by suddenly being picked up (but really shouldn't be), but does his best to hang on to his dragon companion as the latter takes flight. From his vantage point he tries to see with his nightvision what might be amiss.

- Spoiler:
- @Dusk: correct.
@Scorch: makes it there, but even at this distance it's hard to see throguh the trees. Make another Perception check - anyone flying with you can too.

Scorch, at least, is unable to see past the thick trees, but he can hear what appears to be squawking, rhythmic squawking, coming from around the glow.
(I didn't think anyone did, but I also didn't want to purposefully leave anyone out or let the narration forget about anyone, so I just left it open. Figured what's the harm.)

Wandering Eye's ears perked up. "Yeah..." He said softly, trying his best to listen in and peer through the trees.

With his keen wandering eye, Wandering Eye is able to peer into the mess of trees, down to the clearing below their overgrowth - far below. Almost a pit.
A well-lit pit, though, what with the fire and all. Dancing around that fire seem to be several griffins in war paint.

"Well, Wandering Eye says, "There appears to be a fire. And dancing around it are several griffons in war paint." He looked to Scorch. "I'm not sure we should get involved, at least not without our translator."

"Not Nihl? Damn." Scorch rubs his face in frustration. "Those zebras are gonna get massacred without us! There has to be something we can do."

- EDIT: PROBABLY HASN"T HAPPENED YET:
- Luthier finally caught up with Wandering Eye and Scorch after leaving the hut.
"What's going on? Found something?" he asked, looking in the direction Eye had.

Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
Suddenly, and without warning (As if the two weren't synonyms) the griffins all rear back from the fire and screech loudly, their cries echoing through the forest. Then, before anything else can be done, the griffins take...not quite to the air, but they are technically flapping wings and off the ground, barely not touching the tops of the trees as they fly in the direction of the village.
At the exact same time, but in the opposite direction, a small explosion lights up a nearby mountain - nearby being a relative term meaning "on the horizon". It seems to be in the same direction the rebellious zebras are heading.
Back in the hut, Zibris suddenly turns her head sharply to the northwest. "Gunte ka masah?"
Drizzle looked in that direction as well. "What is that..." she translates, or perhaps simply asks herself, considering the way she trails off.

- Spoiler:
- Anypony who wants to can roll Perception. You probably won't notice anything, but there are going to be several of these until someone notices what's going on, and they'll be easier and easier as we go.
Anyway, I'll be updating frequently as I can, so let's go! Go go go!

It's difficult, and you can't see all of them, but Scorch does manage to catch glimpses of the griffins as they leave. He also manages to see all of the zebras, who have come into the clearing and now seem rather confused.
- Spoiler:
- That wasn't the thing. Believe me, you'll know it when you hear it.

Luthier was still trying to catch up to Scorch and Eye or the Zebras. "Hope I can find them." he muttered to himself, realizing they could have changed direction.
Unless that explosion was anything to go by- though it was quite far.
(Roll 11 + 15 Perception= 26)

Wandering's eyes widened as he looked back and forth between the griffons and the explosion, not sure which to focus on.

Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
Wandering Eye sees almost the exact same thing as Scorch does, though with his night vision he is able to follow the griffin's paths a bit better.
Luthier also hears and sees the griffins, but then it'd be hard not to the way they suddenly drop down in front of him. Least there are only two of them. "Caw!" one screeches, sounding more crowish than eagleish. A dialect thing, maybe?

Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
"Eep!" Luthier jumps a little when the griffons suddenly swoop down at him from the night- though he was somewhat relieved when they landed in front of him, instead of on him. He hoped his translation spell would work with the griffons- he couldn't think of any reason why not, but so far he had only tested it once.
"Er, Hello? Can I help you?"
"Er, Hello? Can I help you?"
- Spoiler:
- Using Many Tongues
Roll 15 + 12 Perception = 27 insight into the intent of the caw that Luthier didn't manage to translate, and general demeanor of the griffons. Although they might answer these questions themselves
Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
The caw is a war cry, that much is obvious. What's less obvious, however, is the way many other griffins now passing by you are...passing by you...instead of joining in this apparent confrontation.
"You came from zebras. You look like zebras." The griffin with more paint on its face - oh, hey, war paint on one of their faces - crouches down low, slowly spreading its wings as its claws emerge with an audible pop. "So you die like zebeas." The other griffin follows.

Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
Luthier stares up at the passing griffons until the last thing the griffon says, when he snaps his head back down to look right at the griffon, taking steps backward slowly backing up as he responds.
"Woah! Hold on! You can't be serious! I'm not a zebra-I'm a pony! A unicorn pony. See any stripes? Do zebras have horns? Can zebras speak griffon? I'm clearly unarmed: surely there'd be no honor in killing me?"
Luthier was really taking a stab in the dark with the last comment: he could only hope that this society had some code of honor that didn't involve killing noncombatants. Luthier prepared to shout out for help if it looked like the griffons weren't going to relent.

- Spoiler:
- Preparing Audiomancy to send out loud noises eminating within 50 feet of me, calling for help and/or spooking the griffons.
Not sure how much I can really convince the griffons of anything, but might as well give it a try:
11 roll + 9 Persuasion =20
Re: Luna's Command: The Continuing Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Topic Two, to be Absolutely Clear)
The two griffins pause, then look at each other, seeming confused. "Such is the truth," the one without paint says. "He is unarmed, and no zebra."
"But he comes from zebras," says the other. "And what is...a 'pony'?"
"But he comes from zebras," says the other. "And what is...a 'pony'?"
- Spoiler:
- Another Persuasion check might be an order. Or you could attempt rushing them. Or option C. Maybe D.
