Wanderlust: Equestrian Nights

"Oh," she says, claw settling on circling a spot just under your chin. "Just a hunch. You didn't seem to respect him much, so I wondered."

"Oh, was I that obvious?" Scorch enjoys the claw on his chin as he thinks of a response. This was the first time he's had to explain the nightmare to someone else; usually the transformation happened unintentionally and in far less public places so it never really had to be brought up. "Erm, it's a long story, and one I've promised my owner not to tell. But for all intents and purposes he was my owner for the evening."

"Hmm... Your turn, then, " Violet says, continuing to rub your chin, having apparently noticed your liking for it.

"Sadly, no. Mother says she used to, but doesn't so much anymore," Violet says with a sigh. "How I would love to! Mother says we can not, not for now. She has to stay near the town, she says."

"Huh. Wonder why." He pulls Violet in a bit more with his hugging arm. "Anywhere you'd like to go in particular?"

"That would depend," Violet says, abandoning your chin in favor of a shoulder, "On who else was going to be there."

Scorch replies with a warm smile. "I like that answer. That's a good answer. Your turn."

"Hmmm... You already asked about my hobbies," Violet says contemplatively. "What about your hobbies?"

"Let's see. I like sports. I mean, I don't get to play often, ponies think I have an advantage or something," Scorch gives a small laugh at his own joke, "But if I ever get a chance I'm happy for it. What else. There's... relaxing. Heh, does that count? Other than that I just work on whatever helps me be the best assistant. First aid, cooking, that sort of stuff."

Snowy shrugs. "He wants to go back on his own word, that's his business." The silence stretches out for a moment before he adds, "...Where are we sleeping tonight?"

"The spa, we have rooms, remember? Though I wasn't expecting to be heading back quite this early." Soft strolls ahead arily, with Water close behind, slightly wobbly.

"How was I supposed to know that? I wasn't there when you got there." Spring complains, regretting that he can't conjure water again just yet. An ice slide would be way easier than the staggering pace he had right now. But he tried his hardest to keep up with the twins.

"No, but you were there when we rented the rooms after you told us what happened to you in that cave." Soft seems slightly irritable when she says this, and Water just glances back at Bubbling and coughs slightly.

Bubbling Spring coughs right back at Water, looking a bit sheepish. "Right," he says, shifting Wandering uncomfortably on his back. "Forgot about that. Sorry. It's been a long day."

"You saw what happens when I get near alcohol. Now you know why I don't drink!" Spring says with a smile, glad to be past the scolding.

"She was talking to me." Soft sighs, continuing to trot ahead. Water sighs as well and pulls back to Bubbling. "Shhh, shh shh, no more talky to her. Just let this one go." She snorts and then moves up next to him, helping him carry Wandering's passed out body.

"You cook?" Violet says, leaning back again to look at you curiously. "... Just how well do you cook?"

Bubbling Spring, Steam Twins

You arrive at the Blue Dragon Inn without incident. Most of the lights are up, and a curtain has been drawn declaring the spa area as "Closed: Opens again at dawn". However, you know the stairway leads up to the rooms you rented, and thankfully Glowing Soft rather than Water Drop was entrusted with keys.

As you approach the stairs, the twins once again feel the sensation of oneness from underneath Taffy's mansion. They suddenly recall the whispering from that occasion, and sure enough it starts up again with a word.

"...Why..."

"Yeah, I cook," laughs Scorch, "I've been an assistant for all my life, you don't think I'd know a thing or two about a kitchen? I can cook a decent meal easily."

Both Twins freeze up when they hear the voice again. "Ohhhhh, no no." Soft begins backpedaling away from the stairs, back towards the door. Water looks around a bit, and then starts heading up the stairs in a sort of drunken urgency. "No no no, there could be someone getting murdered up there!" "Well yeah!" "...oh." Soft sighs and begins running up the stairs after her sister.

"Yeeeess... But how decent?" she asks teasingly, bringing the other claw to bear on your chin again.

Bubbling Spring, Steam Twins

The twins manage to make it up the stairs with some difficulty. At the top, they see exactly what one might expect to see: a hallway and some numbered doors as the voice continues.

"...Why... Did... You... Leave... "

"The dead pony, duh." "Taffy! Are you ok? Where are you?"

"Pretty decent. Why do you want to know? Hungry?" teases Scorch...

"Hungry enough to warrant testing," she says challengingly. "If you're up to it, of course."

"Come back"

One of the doors opens after a moment of ruckus, and a slightly frazzled Taffy Stretch pokes her head out, looking quite annoyed.

"Drop? Soft?" she asks, pausing around a yawn. "Wha's goin' on?"
