But anyway. General discussion post for ways of pulling off a sword art campaign, and just general gushing over how cool this is.

Well first off you'd have to get one of the player's to agree to being another's little sister....

Actually, this concept seems like a pretty simple one. You have an incredibly easy hook (heck, you could even be meta about it and the PCs are really humans playing ponies in a video game), you'd have pretty clear goals and a lot of availability for side stuff. Though, it would probably end up being rather combat heavy unless you focused on the drama quite a bit.

I'm not a big fan of SA, .hack did it better, and while there was a lot less action in that series what action there was had a much higher quality. There was a variety and a weight to each attack, and every attack wasn't a variation on "glowing sword slash".

Soundtrack was amazing too.

I actually havn't seen .hack, I keep meaning to but I never get around to it.(Though all I've heard is good things.)

SAO does have a better abridged series though. WARNING: there s some profanity in it, but it's used litely and to good effect. Watch and laugh.
