Because if he was going to walk in and see the hidden passageway that even HE doesn't know about, we'd have a bit of explaining to do. And considering we're trying to keep the whole "wife is actually a spymaster" thing a secret...yeah.

Rolf went and reopened the passageway. "Alright, I'm going to see if I can fix a few things up here first. You guys can look ahead." Rolf knelt down next to one of the suits of armor and tried to see if he could get it back to normal.

While he is unable to restore the suits to their previous working states immediately, or do anything for the bent, broken or damaged pieces of armor on the suit itself, Rolf figures out that their pedestals they were originally standing on should be capable of re-applying their animating magic back into the suits, if placed onto them. He manages to upright them and put them back there. As he does so, he can feel that the magic appears to be indeed working, but it will probably take some time before they're "animate" again.

The rest of the party continues down the staircase, quickly losing all illumination, due to lack of any lit torches, or outdoor natural light. Skitter, having darkvision, can still see, allowing the party navigate somewhat in the darkness. They eventually reach a hallway, which Skitter can see are lined with simple wooden doors, 8 in total, as well as torch holders alongside each, all burnt out. There also appears to be a prison cell to the immediate left, before the doors. At the end of the hallway, they see what appears to be a larger room, expanding from the hallway. From his current position, Skitter can only see a rug lining the floor.

The prison cell of appears to be equipped with iron bars, a simple bed, leg-shackles, as well as what resembles an empty birdbath in one corner, with pipes connected to it, most likely for hygienic purposes, and a crude sink. Relatively narrow slits and rectangular holes line the upper corners of the walls and roof. The iron-bar door has a large metal key in its lock.

The map is basically a top-down view of a corridor lined with closed doors (and the prison cell right next to you, with its furniture within). The corridor ends with a bigger room that you don't fully see into yet and is thus not fully shown.

Jeraylia does not hear any noises other than the soft swooshing sounds of a gentle breeze. She also do not see anything, because she lacks darkvision.

Thanks Zarhon, that's a lot better. I'm pretty bad with the previous type of map and having the words for what something is not being around where it is really makes it harder for me.

Perception in case I need it: 11 + 12 = 23. (+5 if there's traps or poison involved (or +10 if both?) and +5 more from Heart of Courage if applicable.)

Edit: I forget, do we have anyone with Grandeur/Instant Party?

Moving along, Skitter sees that the next room appears to be some kind of common room. Along the roof and the upper portions of the walls, small openings can be seen, similar to those in the "prison cell". In the center of the roof, directly above the rug, hangs a simple chandelier, suspended by a chain and anchored to a nearby brazier.

The rest of the room contains:
- A heavy, stitched fur skin rug .
- Two fixed braziers on both sides of the hallway opening.
- A table, with a few of chairs surrounding it, and others stacked in a corner.
- A mirror, hanging near the table.
- A cooking hearth.
- An empty wooden rack.
- A simple cupboard.
- A number of unmarked crates stacked in a corner.
- A wooden door, locked with a wooden bar.
- A bookshelf, with a meager selection of books.
- A sofa and an over-sized stuffed sack, both somewhat worn from use.
- Weird metallic pipes, embedded into a wall, along with a metallic bell directly above it.

Skitter systematically searches the room to see what else is there. Starting by checking under the rug then going from bookshelf and ending with the cooking hearth.

Edit: Apparently I need to roll another Perception check for the bookshelf.

Perception: 11 + 19 = 30. (+5 if there's traps or poison involved (or +10 if both?) and +5 more from Heart of Courage if applicable.)

Underneath the rug, Skitter can see a small metallic trap-door with a keyhole, set into the stone floor, about large enough to fit one foot through. It appears to be locked.

Looking over the titles and skimming through the tomes (at least, the ones he can read - some are in different languages), he can tell that bookcase appears to have a number of recreational books, ranging from mystery novels, adventure stories, fables, legends, horror novels, romance novels, to illustrated novels best left unmentioned. He also finds a hollowed-out, fake book, with a small vial hidden within, containing some kind of white powder.

The cooking hearth is essentially a fireplace with a smoke tunnel above it (from the looks of it, it curves to the side halfway through) and a small section in front of it to hold a pot or kettle. There isn't anything other than a lot of soot, charcoal, and charred crumbs within.

The cupboard is completely empty.

The boxes are sealed shut with nails, and have something relatively within heavy, judging by the weight.

There do not appear to be any obvious traps around.

Zthulan enters the first room on the right side of the corridor, coming from the bigger room.

He can see that it is indeed a bedroom, with an slightly-larger-than-average single-person bed. It too has slits in the roof, and a pair of torch holders next to the bar-lockable door.

The other furniture comprises of a simple end table (with a long-melted candle on top), a cupboard full of empty clothing-hangers, a chest with a key already in its lock, as well as what appears to be a rather unusual hygiene assembly in one corner of the room.

The hygiene assemble is a small "hollow pillar", so to speak, about as high as one's waist, that is overflowing with water, it trickling out into a smaller birdbath-like basin surrounding it, from which it is then drained via a small circular hole on the bottom. The pillar looks large enough to fit into, or even fully submerge oneself in water within it, if one were to crouch. Looking into it, Zthulan can't see the bottom of it, or tell how deep it is, or where the water is coming from.

Taking a glance within the other rooms along the hallway, he sees that they are all more-or-less identical, with minor differences in the furniture's condition or layout.

Horizon ~~accidentally triggers a gas trap~~ opens up one of the crates with a bit of leverage. It appears to be full of wooden logs.

Opening a second crate reveals a collection of tableware - pewter jugs, tankards, plates, forks, knives, spoons, a few pots...

Opening a third crate reveals a family of mice within it (it appears the crate had a hole in it), nested amongst pickled vegetables (the rest were eaten or rotted away) and a meager amount of mouse-nibbled jerky, barely enough to feed four people (it seems there was a lot more of it, prior to the mice taking their lions share of it). The mice quickly scatter about the room in a panic.

-One of you dreaded entering the "Doorway Dimension" back at the temple.
-Drow book was just "generic fantasy romance novel" with no real reference (I doubt there'd be kiddie books in this particular place).
