Rolf pounded on Horizon's door. "Horizon, wake up. We got a suicide mission to do." He sighed. The temple had a few cultists, sure, but they could be taken out individually. The mine had been swarmed with undead cultists, but they had managed alright. But now they were expected to sneak into enemy headquarters, with both amateur and "expert" cultists, and a horde of undead. Rabiah's eye-in-the-sky was an advantage, but just the five of them? Some sort of back-up would be useful.

...Of course, Master Nester had always found a way to get "cheap labor"...

Rolf looked over the bookshelf to see if there were any magical tomes. Perhaps an elemental would be useful in a pinch.

Perception:

Because obviously the book to summon stuff will show up because Rolf is looking even though it wasn't there when Skitter did?

Also, last I checked, only two of us have even put forth suggestions or votes for utilities it should have.

Stat: Athletics
Traits: Telepathy, It's Almost Like Flying

It flying is a lot less useful than creating steeds for us to all fly on but, I guess an air elemental should be capable of flight and I suppose it's ability to fly for the day doesn't end if we get in a fight in the middle. Hopefully it can at least carry two of us while it flies or something.

Hey, Zarhon, was there anything of use in the rooms we slept in?

Jeraylia exits her room equiped in her gear, a small, salvaged satchel hanging off her belt. "What's the news?" Asking Rolf for the note, she glances over it. "'Disrupt as much of the encampment as possible. Be as discreet as possible,'" she paraphrases. "I expect no complication." Putting the note down, she heads back over the bookshelf to see if she can find the second volume of "The Drow that wouldn't say no". "Holler when ya'll are ready to go."

How about a skeleton rat with a scythe? Stronger than it looks? I'll think of something better later.
Edit: Ramsus's suggestion of an air elemental sounds like it'd fit well.

You can assume that a useable bag was present in one of the boxes you opened.

The "discreet" part was in regards to the garrison/shelter you are in, not so much the enemy camp.  

And let me remind everyone of two things:

1) Something ignored.
2) Something slightly illogical about one of the rooms.

You can also try knowledge or streetwise checks if you feel the need for extra hints. Or if you don't care about that, just go continue where Horizon left off with his explorations.

Rolf sighed as he turned away from the bookcase. "No wondrous magical tomes here." He turned to Zthulan. "Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's a fair chance we're up earlier than the cooks are. The whole point of this mission is to get out and get back before any of the "regular" soldiers can find out about it. You can try sneaking into the kitchen for a quick bite, if you'd like."

Rolf looked around the common room, when something stuck out at him. "...Why would a mirror be behind a large table like that?" Rolf then went over to the mirror to try and see if it had any magical properties like the one upstairs.

Arcana:

Excluding his own wizardly reflection, the mirror does not appear to contain anything magical within itself - it's just an ordinary mirror, hanged to the wall by a hook/nail and chains on its top edges, keeping it level. If one had the magical know-how or magical ingredients, though, one could probably enchant it to work similarly, if not better, than the mirror upstairs.

Horizon takes his time sitting up, standing up, and getting his gear ready. Quick, very basic hygiene, and then he suits up. He grabs the torch that he left lit all night, and goes out to the main room. "Which one of you was banging on my door." He is the sleepiest of the sleepyheads, barely speaking audibly, but goes over to Rolf. "Mirror, mirror..." he mumbles, looking at the mirror.

Horizon, in addition to seeing himself, notices faint scrape marks on the wall, to the side of the mirror.

"Hmm..." Horizon begins tracing the scratch marks, and then grabs the mirror and yanks it down off the wall.

"Morning scruffy," Jeraylia said, hearing Horizon mumbling about mirrors he stumbled into the room. "You could use a shave." She took more notice when he pulled the item in question off the wall. Peering over his shoulder into one of the hidden recesses, she saw the iron key and had a spark of recollection. "Hey, did anyone investigate the trap door under the rug? As you will remember, I was engrossed in another task at that time."

I need to go over the past few pages a bit more. Seems I missed a lot, and this place probably has a lot of hidden stuff. Did anyone check behind the cupboard, while we're at it? Also, remind me to take a look at the flowers in the back room when we head out. If they are alive, fake, rare, or other, they are a bit suspicious.

"Shaving is a luxury ill afforded by the situation at hand. People are dying outside- I can at least sacrifice a clean look." Despite still being halfway to dead asleep, he could and would manage more comprehensive sentences if sarcasm was in order. "And they confiscated my knives, so I don't have anything to shave with. Besides, don't even try to pretend the rugged stubble isn't totally sexy. I'm surprised you can still stand on your quaking knees after seeing it." He looked at the key and decided against taking it. The scant few hours of sleep had not been enough to warrant another escapade into more tunnels. "You guys can look around more when we get back. I think we might need to get going by now."

We're gonna leave before we summon the elemental? Considering how long the previous day lasted, I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea.

He does take it off. He started this game having left his helmet, armor, and most of his weapons at home- he doesn't take it non-adventuring. He removed his armor last night before bed as well- but then suited up before leaving his room. Not to waste the dialogue, though, lets say his helmet is still off, waiting nearby to be donned once again.

Rolf grabbed the key in the alcove and tried using it to unlock the trapdoor. "If there are any last minute supplies down here, it'll be good to have them rather than finding them later and wishing we had checked here before leaving." Rolf made a note to make a thorough look in whatever room they found for...well, anything that might be useful.

Perception:

The metallic trapdoor easily unlocks with the key. Within it, you find:

- A small collection of basic alchemical and laboratory supplies (a few flame-blackened beakers, a small burner, a few rubber gas tubes, vials...). From the looks of the burns and stains on some of them, they were handled by someone who didn't clean them often, or they were used frequently and/or sloppily.
- A leather-bound book, titled "Magical Homekeeping and other helpful tricks - Hag Publishing". The books appears to have suffered some fire damage.
- A length of rope (40 feet).
- A collapsible, 10-foot metal pole.
- A small stack of empty/blank parchment, ink bottle, and quill.
- A detached, wall-hanged sign, reading "Hole sweet hole".
- A kazoo.

I just noticed Rolf's sheet still has the old version of magecraft (without the magical tricks prerequisite). Are you willing to switch one of your utilities to get the prerequisite, or will you wait till you level up to take it ("magical tricks" is pretty handy in general)?
