Now that's just libel right there. Just because Rolf can summon somewhat suspect fire elementals and is on conversational terms with Death doesn't mean that he wishes to summon a horde of demons to gain revenge and take over the city for himself using the dark arts.

His interest in the name of Horizon's "friend" is purely so that Horizon may more likely be free of demonic possession, and certainly isn't a ploy to figure out how to control it as his dark servant.

So, strategy or fighting, guys? I've got another battle plan if it comes to fighting.

How tough do these zombies look? Are they the runts of the litter? Or do they seem as strong as the one we fought near the southern gates?

Going out of town, expect very few posts for the next two days at least.

Roll arcana on the magic lightshow, for it's distraction effectiveness. -6 penalty due to endurance failures.

A mix of both: Most are a bit worse for wear due to being mutilated, missing bits and pieces, or other grievous damage, and there's maybe one or two that look to be in "good condition". They're also a bit slow, going at a walking pace.

Azarune, if you can't Endure looking in the pit, you might try looking into the tents in the north to see what lies ahead...although, since a battle's probably coming up, you might want to make it fast.

Well, not really. You tried Magical Tricks already. Rest would be OOC stuff and you didn't really get any "surprise" elements that would give you a bonus, unless you can think of something else. Or run away, I guess?  

Also, I do hope Zthulan is aware that he's essentially dozed off in the middle of hostile territory?

The gate of the pit does have a simple latch to keep it closed, but is lacking anything to actually keep it locked or closed from anything knowledgable enough on the subject of opening doors.

Horizon isn't looking at the pit, he's focused on the Nightmare's cage, I think, so no endurance roll needed for him, for now. The Nightmare-cage opening doesn't need a roll either since Rolf tampered with it.

True but it says I can end this whenever correct? I would assume that it would just take a quick trip back and we could leave at a moment's notice. Though I am sure it would take Zthulan a few moments to reorient himself.

Also someone could move his body to a safer place if push comes to shove.

I'm talking about the fence-gate of the ramp leading into the pit, Broken, where you're at now. As I said, it only has a simple latch, no padlocks or anything like that. It's like a shepherd's fence. Horizon is doing his own thing with the Nightmare, you're at the pit.

Anyways, is Jeraylia attacking/joining combat, if she rolled initiative, or she searching first?

Edit: Illusion went away after it charged for the door (you'd look very silly trying to mount a dog, I imagine). No illusion FK. It's can be ridden on, provided it lets you (or are fireproof). The reason it didn't leave the cage is because it was unaware of it being opened (Rolf was invisible and the tampering was discreet), not the door size - the cage was big enough for it (in fact, it was too large for a "dog" to be contained in).

Edit Edit: Well, if you perform Gather energy and still have dazed on the following turn (when you'd have the double standard actions), then yes, it's useless. Theoretically, you could use it whilst dazed, then get rid of dazed with your save ends, and still get to benefit from it on the next turn, I think, but that would be a huge waste/risk.

So, there's no way that I can keep fighting these guys on my own. If Jeraylia's not going to come help until she finds something, I'm gonna run away.

Azarune, if you're not planning to come back to your body, you might try asking some of the remaining souls for help find Stoutbottom's body.

Rolf, still need that acrobatics roll to see how you fare combat-wise. Horizon I'm letting off the hook from combat for now, since he's going on a mini-hiatus.

And with that, I believe Horizon has made his exit. Look for his triumphant return in two months. On the third day, look to the east, and so on.

Unless in two months you're still fighting these same zombies, in which case.... nevermind.

I'm guessing that's just a simple endurance (recover from dream), athletics (run to Rolf), acrobatics (re-orient self) or arcana (dream mode deactivation) roll, Zthulan. Jeraylia probably just has acrobatics/athletics to run over.

Pick one skill and roll, to join the fight immediately / after a round, along with initiative, whoever is joining the fight.

Should it matter that Z1 dies? Are you saying that if Z1 dies, the crit effect of it attacking Z3 will not happen?
Or was my post clear enough? I was asking that Z1 attack Z3 in it, please.

Z1 got KO'd by Invigorating Strike's damage, meaning it's pretty much out of the fight/dead/unable to do anything. Your crit happens after that. Z1 can't attack Z3 because Z1 is KO'd/dead.

Just pick some non-KO'd zombie to do the "forced" attack - Z3, Z4, or Z2?

I guess Z4 can just attack Z3.

About my special move, I'm wondering about wording:

Special Move:
Dazzling Performance
8: Force target enemy to attack a creature of your choice. The enemy chooses which attack to use.

When it says force target enemy, is it talking about the enemy that was targeted by the crit-triggering attack? Or that I can choose a target (perhaps another)?

You can choose any target - the crit is it's own 'extra' ability, independent from the thing that triggers it.

What I'm wondering though, is whether the attack happens immediately (as in, the enemy gets a 'free action' to punch something), or happens as part of its normal turn.

EDIT: Aha! Broken, you appear to be using an outdated / non-updated version of the special move, where the d8 has different wording/effects. The combat doc has this version:

Dazzling Performance
8: You may use one of target enemy’s combat talents at random without paying its energy cost.
10: For each enemy, flip a coin. If you win that flip, stun that enemy until the end of its next turn.
12: You and target ally each gain 2 energy.

So it seems that, rather than the enemy attacking, you get a free attack to perform on a target of your choice, and the attack is randomly chosen for you. So pick an enemy you wish to 'copy' an ability from, and I'll roll to see what you get to 'perform'.

In retrospect, this means we did the crits wrong a few times earlier.      Check if your sheets are updated, people.

Ah, sorry XD. Didn't know about that update. Alright, so I'll just have a random one of Z3's talents.
But for future reference, I guess you don't want me to pick a talent from a dead/dying enemy (ie Z1 in this case).

Alright, the random roll says you get:

Chew Flesh - minor attack
Deal 1d4 damage to target enemy and heal yourself for same amount.
If target is grappled, cheaper cost, and gain same amount of temporary hp as well.

So just edit that stuff into the combat post so we can get this rolling again.

I'm eager to see how you RP this one.
