And Elacular, I feel your pain. I once started off a campaign with 2 natural ones, and the next couple of rolls included a 2, a 3, another 1 and a 20, for some reason

I think... I just sneezed out the element of laughter... Maybe... It wasn't that clear either way, but it's totally what Marked thinks. And if it's clearly 100% not... I'm just looking for the dang thing if it's nearby and what. Do recall that from what I believe, Marked still a few pages behind everyone else on what's goin on...

Also I forsee once Marked has fully calmed and gotten used to the idea of non-comedians, (which when you come from basically a whole REALITY built on everyone and everything being related to some type of comedy... It's kinda super-ultra-weird to find out there are people who DON'T do comedy) There will be bonding over Marked's own dislike of Surrealism... But at this point in time... Any hint of comedy even the type he hates is helping him feel more normal and helping to keep him from having a minor freak out.

I used kindness on someone who was being controlled to be hostile, which I admit was a mistake. But then, the GM used my kindness as an excuse to make the character stop fighting the mind control and proceeded to heckle my character for "helping" him torture the controlled one.

Ouch. well, I'll try to be careful about that.

That GM is an outright dick for doing that... I mean dang... That is horrible. And come on... Kindness getting used to HELP mind control? That's... Really horrible behaviour by a GM.

I don't have much experience, obviously, but... I don't tend to mind that sort of troll logic, IF it enhances the story and enjoyment for the players, which... that clearly didn't.

My only offline example is an Exalted mortal game I played. Ended up dying because one of my teammates stuck me with a knife (by accident) leading to the medic (hopped up on drugs) tried to perform open chest surgery. I died, but...honestly,mI didn't mind. The session was over, and it was a funny, memorable experience.

Or, here. If we revived TFS, it would have been an awesome, possibly game breaking moment, something that would have influenced Compass in some ways I was starting to consider.
Instead, it failed. Which means she gets an alternate story path. And I don't mind since that sounds like it'll be fun to play too.

Though I'm still sorry about making you waste your magic potion. I'll make it up to you.

Eh, no big deal. Generally I'm happy as long as things make a good story.

I was expecting us to get a 2-minute chat with Twilight Sparkle, personally. It could've doubled as a kick in the rear to get moving, if she told us where to go. But ah well.
If Midas finds out that this is not the original statue, I'm going to freak out internally, since we potentially just doomed Twilight Sparkle to a campaign's worth of painful chaotic torture.
