Given I've never tried combat in any form, I honestly have no opinion on the subject.

It all sounds grossly excessive and over the top. I like it.

Having said that, can someone explain to me how wound values are calculated? Since you're in the negatives when knocked unconscious, are most wound values greater than 20? Also, if this is true, doesn't that mean surviving until -12 HP with Die another day just means your wounds are that much more grievous (which makes sense, given what you're doing, but detracts from the power of the trait).

Also, whatever happened to upping HP to 50 and instituting the fatal damage system? did we talk about that here?

I like the premise, but it doesn't seem very well worded.

Well I think the problem is with the fatal Damage is that we don't really know HOW fatal damage works... Outside of "you take fatal damage when KOed, take too much YOU DIE" nothing else is know on how the dang mechanic works. If I were to guess we'd use it at 50 HP... I'd for one have it be a 100 or 200 fatal damage max to hitting death. And that basically anything that were to send one's HP to negative get's turned into fatal damage. But the Wounded Warriors doc at least has some more clearer cut mechanics in play. And was built to be a different option to take in place of the whole fatal damage thing.

Well, I guess I need to make an executive decision, so if there are no objections, I'll increase HP to 50, and have death be at 100 Fatal damage. For now, I guess I'll say that fatal damage causes skill check penalties.

How we get rid of the Fatal Damage?

According to the announcement thread, extended rests removove it completely. I also think that sufficiently high heal checks may reduce FD.

The "shiny" I referred to is in fact the Element. But Skitterbuzz doesn't know that. She merely suspects so.

Oh boy, my first combat!

...I have no idea how this stuff works. Uh... Rolled a 17, if that means anything? I'll...post once I get a feeling for how it's done.

Okay, here's how initiative works: Everyone rolls a d20. The numbers rolled determine everyone's turns in combat and adjacency. Allies whose numbers are next to each other are considered adjacent to each other.

Oh that's great a 17 means you've gotten high in the turn order. And don't worry too much this combat is really simple. Sure it can do some crazy combos that might be a bit complex to understand but it's all good.

A 17 means that you take your turn before anyone who rolled less than a 17 (like me). Every turn, you can take, at maximum, 1 standard action and 1 minor action.* Once everyone who has rolled greater than a 17 posts, you can use up to that many actions worth of combat talents.
Using combat talents is really straightforward. Just add or subtract the number in [brackets] from the total number of energy you have,** then do what the move says, rolling dice as necessary. Obviously, you can't use a move if it would take you to less than 0 energy.

After you figure out what you've done write a post in character to explain your character physically did to your enemies/allies.

*The word standard or minor can be found directly to the right of the name of the combat talent.
