Race: Sleipnir
Let me preface this by saying that there's a lot of personal headcanon here. A while back, I came up with a comic/fic storyline that centered around a sleipnir protagonist (in this setting, sleipnir were sort of demigods on the same tier as alicorns). A side character that would have made a brief appearance was the hero's sister, none other than the reaper pony herself, who also happens to be a semicorporeal ghost (she looks mostly like a normal pony, except in direct moonlight). So some of what's here is taken from the ideas I came up with while developing that story, which, sadly (or maybe for the best), never saw the light of day. The original Sleipnir also has a strong association with both Loki and Odin in Norse mythology, giving plenty of goodies to draw on.
Another note on ghosts, according to my headcanon, they are normally only visible to normal ponies when they are in direct moonlight (ambient light during the night, or a cloudy night, or a new moon are all not enough to illuminate them). They fear the living, and so tend to hide during the day.

Winterborn (1)
Characters of your race are immune to cold, and remain conscious even when frozen solid. If you are frozen in a block of ice, you must make an athletics check to break free. Characters of your race can also create puffs of icy breath at will.
Magical Attunement (1)
Your race can use perception to detect magic, though this does not let them decipher exactly what the magic does - that requires arcane knowledge.
Fast As Lightning (2) - Magic
By spending a Magic Point, a character of your race can move at a rate of a 50 miles-per-second for the next minute. However, few of your race can endure a full minute at this pace. Moving at this blistering speed is incredibly dangerous; a character of your race takes 1d20 damage for each second spent moving at this speed.
Cutie Mark (2) [Pony Tales Characters Only]
Characters of your race gain a cutie mark. Check with your DM if you want to use one of these for a non-traditional creature, like a Minotaur or Griffon.

Racial Traits
Prodigal Child
You only gain training in two skills instead of three, but you get a cutie mark.
On a Pale Horse
Anytime you roll a critical failure on an Endurance check against poison or disease, treat the result as a critical success. This cannot trigger a Cutie Mark Critical.
Blood of the North
You are immune to cold. Even if frozen solid in a block of ice, it is only a matter of time before you break yourself free.
Utility Talents
Ghost Step - At Will
You can gallop at a terrifying speed, up to four times faster than a normal pony. While moving at full speed, you can gallop across thin air as if it were solid. Every 30 seconds, you must pass a Stunts or Acrobatics check, or else you will stumble and fall. If you are on solid ground, the check is a DC20. If you are in the air and moving at less than a 45 degree angle up or down, or running across a wall, or across the underside of a ceiling, the check is DC30. If you are in the air and moving at greater than a 45 degree angle up or down, the check is DC40. Try not to fall while in mid air.
Huginn - 3 / session
Preparation Time: 1 hour
Ask the DM about a subject. The DM must tell you something about it.
Muninn - Magic
You are able to read another character's thoughts.
Psychopomp
You are able to perceive and talk to ghosts. Use caution, however, as they usually aren't aware they're dead, leaving them frightened and confused.
Can't Touch Dis - 1 / day
Preparation Time: 10 seconds
You can phase through solid objects exactly as if you were a ghost for up to 5 minutes.
I Am Become Death
When you roll a critical success to resist a disease, you become immune to its effects and absorb it. You can later pass that disease on to another character through physical contact, but doing so will remove your immunity and consume the absorbed disease. You can have more than one disease absorbed at a time.
You can also infect yourself from another character sick with a disease. If you roll a critical success, you not only absorb the disease, but also cure the other character.
Loki's Gift - Magic
You are able to convince someone that something is absolutely true. They will continue believing it for the remainder of the day unless they are confronted with evidence to the contrary, or someone they trust denounces the belief, in which case they must pass a DC25 Horse Sense check or else they will continue believing it anyway. The character will be able to remember having the belief after the effect wears off, but will not be consciously aware of it unless it is somehow brought to their attention.
If the day passes without breaking the belief, you can reinstate it later with a Persuasion check of DC30. If you fail the check, however, or if the belief is ever broken, then you lose the power to reinstate the belief.
Loki's Gift cannot be used on the same character more than once.

Sleipnir updated to work with the Genetic Engineering expansion pack. Modified the Fireborn racial trait to make the Winterborn trait.
Does anyone actually care about sleipnir, or am I the only one who thinks they're cool?
