Probably after they finish up the racial traits expansion.

It'll happen soon, as my finals are now over (aced em) and I'm on break. Also working on the items revamp.

The major barrier in the way is deciding if the new universal standard should be 7 points or 8.

People want to make arguments about which you think and why? It's been a while.

I'd vote 8. No particular reason, 8 just seems like a nice even number.

One drawback to the 8 point system is that it'll take longer to come out - because the LL racial templates would need to be redesigned too.

Whilst I, on the contrary, vote for 7. Because: it makes PT on par with LL; it's easier to balance our current races, as it'd only be a point difference; and it's still a pretty significant bonus, going from 6 to 7.

We've waited this long, don't see any reason not to wait a little longer. It'll be more awesome and totally make up for the downsides and stuff. Maybe we'll even think up some new racials to add to the list or something.

Gotta go with 8 and yeah, agree with Xel there about the waiting. So far everyone who's using any of the Genetic Engineering document here on the forum have already been using 8. (Except I used 9 in what game but, whatever.)

My (not really officially made) offer to re-design any or all of the races example builds using the current traits still stands btw if you guys really don't have the time. =P (Heck, I could probably make two example builds for each race sometime tomorrow given a list of races.)

Seriously though, I assume the extra waiting would be because you would then want to make new traits for the LL races to fill in the 1 point gaps? (Otherwise, see above offer.)

Well, I haven't been around long, so excuse my naivety, but what is wrong with the 6 Point System? With more points, the higher costing, more powerful traits become easier to obtain and doesn't require as much sacrifice to get, while racial talent lists can get pretty long if the player opts for the cheaper stuff...

Before the raical system itself was here. a good deal of races were stronger then they are now. And regardless... Living Leagons is using a 5+CM system making those types of characters look a lot better regardless. So to make them both the same. We've been hoping for a pure 8 point system it was suggested to make it a 6+CM system, but then it was clear that having more options would be better as a whole with teh whole 8 point system idea.

Well, if the effective difference between Pony Tales and Living Legends is a single point and LL looks a lot better, by making PT use 8 points, wouldn't it make PT characters look a lot better instead? If you want to make them the same, wouldn't you use 7 points, or 6 points and reduce the Cutie Mark cost to 1 point?

Both boards would have the same Racial Points to start, I believe.

Yeah both systems would be getting the update to a pure 8 point system. So all the races get upgrades. It'll take longer, but it'll totally be worth the wait.

I personally think 7 is better, but the mass opinion is a Monty Haul style big 8, and that's fine too, I'm not overly attached to any specific number here.

Seven does seem like an easier fix. But I know people really want eight (though that might be just because it makes for more fun stuff for character rather than a particular design decision). Still, we're building this system for you all and I'd rather go with what y'all like if it's iffy at all which is better.

Dazzling Performance 8 super: Does this make the enemy use it's turn or does it make the attack immediately? Same thing for Paranoia.

Condemn: If I condemn someone and they condemn me, when do we stop causing condemn damage to occur, when we're dead or disabled?

I assume it's immediately, and if that's the case... do they gain pips for using it? (I assume, yes)

I always assumed it happened on their turn...

It's immediately, otherwise it'd be way too broken.
