I have a philosophy of "make stuff happen, by whatever means necessary". These NPCs provide avenues for things to happen by.

Bored player is bored... Can we get to time-skips... And can Tick-Tock's blueprints do something, please?

It'll be done by tomorrow evening at the latest; I need to draw a couple of maps, and we'll be ready.

Another way to answer a Bored player is to throw an NPC at them to play with... But if the time-skip's nearly here that's a moot point.

We're skipping, what, 3-4 days? That's a lot of interesting Player interaction and party building we'll be missing. We haven't even finished introductions.

Short version: Yes and yes.

The Long Version:

Yes, changelings more-or-less "eat" love as a form of sustenance. This is what grants them their shapeshifting. I am willing to assume that Wishful is able to absorb enough here and there that nobody notices this, until such time that it becomes relevant.

However, even the changelings need your standard nommage, to fuel their bodies the same way everyone else does.

Therefore: yes, they have special diet needs, and yes, they also eat the same things as everypony else.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I thought it was the queen that gained strength from love and that as far as food and sustenance was concerned it was assumed to be what ponies ate. Not necessarily that they need to leech off of love but they gain more power if they do.
