Slice of Night

Smoke spots the approaching musician. "Speaking of which."

As lyre tried to walk to the others, Stagewing put his (Hand? Hoof? Tentacle?) on lyres shoulder and pulled him behind stage saying while smiling cheerfully: "Excuse me but what the HELL did you just do?" Stagewing stops smiling and instead gets an angry but questioning expression.

"Wha... What do you mean? I just did what I was hired to, I played music! That's all!" He was taken aback and angered by this. "...Who the heck are you anyways?!"

"Well when a giant beam of light shoots from me to you and i -hic - start randomly transforming i kind of want an explanation." Stagewing then hiccups and turns into a bicycle.

"Wait... you're Stagewing? I did this?! What do you mean? All I was doing was playing music!" He said, visibly a bit shaken and worried, though he was a bit excited at this new development.

"Well, since you don't remember what happened I guess I'm going to have to give an excuse to the mayor myself... Bloody hell..." Stagewing sighed. "This is going to be a long day..." Stagewing let go of lyre and rolled into his wagon to think.

Lyre just stared for a second, then stared at his instrument for a while "You can do that?" After that he shrugged and walked back towards the group, though he kept that little mystery in mind.

...Perhaps it would lead to an adventure.

Smoke faces the approaching musician once more. "Hello. How's it going?"

"Feeling better after almost being stabbed again." Smoke looks around, before continuing. "Where's the magician?"

Heartfelt doesn't really pay attention to the exchange or the dragon, entirely distracted by the fact that there's some lunatic running around stabbing ponies. Everyone seems so friendly, if slightly withdrawn....Who could do that another pony? Has anypony else she knows had an encounter like this? Why haven't the police done anything about it? What if Quilted is off on one of her adventures and runs into one of those...hooligans?!

The last statement by the dragon draws her out of her musings, and she says, "He's...thinking while riding a bicycle?"

"Well... in a way, I guess." He said, chuckling to himself.

"Oui! I am here! A bit distracted, mon amie? I am sorry for making you wait!" She says with a cheerful, amused tone. "Let us fly then! Ze Food Barrel awaits!....... Well not literally, we did not call ahead after all." She says as she begins to fly away.

Cloudcast gave a small chuckle at Eclair and bid Rei to follow after her. Or just as likely end up leading the way if Eclair got lost.

Heartfelt shrugs, and suddenly remembers that she has a filly not yet introduced on her back. "Oh! Heart and Smoke! I completely forgot! This little filly is one Quilted Crafts." She leans down so Quilted can move off of her back and stand besides her. "Quilted, this is Heart Blossom and Smoke Screen, my cousin and...cousin-in-law. Kind of." She nods towards the pair when she says their names.

Heart Blossom snickers a bit, then says to Lyre, "Your playing was fantastic! How do you do it?"
Meanwhile, Quilted smiles and gets off Heartfelt's back, saying softly, "H-hi."

He nervously laughed. "Well... I kind of just... played. Practice helps though."

Heartfelt playfully nudges Quilted with a leg and smiles encouragingly at her, before turning to the dragon.
"That was you playing the music?" Her eyes go wide, "That last bit?!" She pauses and shudders dramatically. "So dramatic! I almost leapt into the air when the sword went into the box! Critical success, am I right?!"

"Thanks! It really wasn't all that big though..." He said, obviously flattered.

"Not big? It was one of the best parts of the whole show," replies Smoke as he rubs his neck and scarf. The stallion then turns his attention to Quilted and leans down to the little foal. "Hello there, aren't you a cute little filly? Although you do have something in your ear." With that, he brings his hoof near Quilted's ear (although not too close, she was obviously shy), and then puts it between him and Quilted, revealing a coin in his hoof, which he gives to her. Of course, he had the coin all along, but with slight of hoof it appeared that he had pulled the coin out of the filly's ear...

"Hey, tell you what," Smoke says to the group at large, "I was gonna grab lunch after the show. Would anypony like to join me?"

Quilted looks at the coin in shock, then tucks it away and asks, "Does anypony have a mirror? My ear has money in it! I'm paying for lunch!"

Smoke chuckles at the filly's response as he puts one of his fore legs around Heart Blossom. He faces the dragon and replies "Well, it looks like somepony is gonna pay for lunch, but don't you have your own money? Didn't the magician pay for your music?"

"Actually, not yet. I'm also in a pretty tight spot regarding money, I barely have enough to get food and I'm trying to save up towards a goal of mine, so you can see how that's going." He said, a bit dejected but still trying to keep a pleasant tone. "I have high hopes though. After all, I've survived this long right?" He said, chuckling a bit.
