I see his reaction to the "Are you evil?" Question be "I don't care..."
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
I vote to outright kill Nihl and deal with any consequences later

Honestly? I'm torn. On one hoof, I really don't think APW will let us get rid of the main villain so early unless he getsĀ hijacked by Ganon (my money is on Evil Princess Cadance or that griffon scientist mentioned earlier). On the other hoof, I really want to bash his stupid face in with unbridled (hehe) arcane power.deonte9109 wrote:I vote to outright kill Nihl and deal with any consequences later

I won't stop you from trying to kill Nihl. And if you succeed I'm not gonna be like "Oh, uh...you didn't really kill him..." or anything like that. But this guy is intended to be the final boss, a hefty challenge for a fully-leveled party. Admittedly, he isn't quite as powerful as (if everything went exactly as I planned) he would become, but he's still probably out of your league and I will be statting him as such.
Again, if you find a way to kill him despite this, good job! Campaign's over, or maybe some of that Ganon-jacking you were talking about, or option C. Still, though, despite how much you (probably justifiably) hate this guy, he's not a pushover and I wouldn't recommend trying.
I was going to update earlier but then I got unexpectedly busy. Now that I'm back...
...I'm tired, and people are kind-of-debating killing Nihl (not really, but I could see this blossoming into full discussion and don't wish to cut it off), so I think I'm justified in waiting about ten or eleven more hours, but at that point we're moving on.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
I'm not against trying- although my concern right now is the guards (we don't know how much or wheteher Drizzle hurt Nihl at all)- I feel like Nihl's response will be to make yet another strategic withdrawl at the expense of his goons.
Of course, I'm wondering what the zebras' response to all this is- I would have liked to know that before I posted, but since they didn't respond right away Luthier wasn't going to wait for them to and risk Drizzle or the party getting attacked unawares.
So where is Iggy? He about to show up? Or has something happened to him (kidnapped- went too far away to investigate something)
Huh, even if we killed him, wasn't there some wierd stuff going on back home? Such as crystal empire wierdness? Unless that was all directly tied to Nihl...

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
Iggy is indeed about to show up in some form or another.
Giving the zebras time to react would have also given the ECHO soldiers time to react, which I doubt you'd have appreciated.

Athletics Roll: 16 (Roll) + 18 (Bonus) = 34
Can I get a hand over here so I can break the 35 DC?

Question: Now that things are pitch-black, do I have to roll perception to stop Nihl's telekinesis or whatever the 35 DC is even if someone eventually gives an aid check to me?

I will give you an option.Paper Shadow wrote:Question: Now that things are pitch-black, do I have to roll perception to stop Nihl's telekinesis or whatever the 35 DC is even if someone eventually gives an aid check to me?
If you are a genuine roleplayer who has honor, yes.
If you are a dirty rotton minmaxer who uses scumbag tactics, no.
...okay, okay, jokes aside, it's entirely optional but does add in a bit of realism, ja?

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
I'm not sure what's going on... All hell broke lose since Nihl revialed himself for having done the stuff we claimed he did.
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
^That is exactly what is going on.
Sorry for being gone for a while there - I got busy. Very busy. Anyway, I'll update soon, but first I need to tell Retro that when I said "you cannot see any light without Nightwatch" I meant it.
That thing I was saying up there about the Perception checks being optional is still true, but even after being gone a few days I don't just want to say "alright then moving on" without actually giving you the option...though, at the same time, I won't be making you guys wait much longer so hurry~

So... What enemies are there to fire off lightning at?

I think it's fair to say that the only enemies that can fight are Nihl and his legions he'd be dumb to not have waiting on the perimeter of the village...AProcrastinatingWriter wrote:The brewing potion spills over the ECHO soldiers, seeping through their clothing and causing them to scream in pain, even as the masks on the walls stay stubbornly in place.
Anyway, I'd like to thank Retro for the assist, but since you then went on to beat the 35 DC anyway, I kinda don't need it for that any more and have a 36 Athletics check without a target and a 14 Perception Roll not giving me many options. That's why I haven't posted yet, I need to figure out what I'm doing...

Taking this opportunity to ask people to please make their Endurance rolls (or else say bluntly that they aren't even going to bother trying) and also to tell Xel that A) he posted in the wrong topic and B) I will go with whichever way you all collectively choose.

Ā
don't know how I did that. Deleted that post. My votes with changing... assuming I can keep the Thunderbird's other effects costing whatever you feel is fair.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
I can go either way. Although I'd like to be sure I can keep the utilities I already have if we do switch (like Many tongues, 'specially since I've used it and I think it'll come in handy again)
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
Damn you, taking Endurance trained with terrible Brawn!
Sorry about taking so long to post, that "automatically logs you out after x amount of time" thing is a real pain. What exactly are we talking about changing, again?

As for changing, I believe we are talking about systems. There's a huge rework coming in, merging racials and utilities into abilities and revamping combat...

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
OK, I've read the ability revamp. Honestly? I don't know how I feel about it. None of the upgrades look particularly useful at all. There's no Magical Tricks or Magecraft, which means 90% of Brilliant's ability to contribute out of combat just disappeared. I've always hated x/per day abilities in every system, so I doubt I'd take any of those. Her element also got hit with the nerf bat as you have to pick five abilities to switch-out and stick with them instead of it being a "spellbook" you can pull options out of.Paper Shadow wrote:You log out automatically around the end/start of each month I believe...Retrokinesis wrote:Damn you, taking Endurance trained with terrible Brawn!

I'm still mad there's no way to increase skills beyond Specialist, though. Pretty much gives you a hard limit to what every character can possibly end-up being able to do. I'll go along with what everyone else wants as long as I can keep Magecraft, though I kind of hate the new Magic element.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
Magecraft will likely be added to the new system when it is release, they just haven't gotten around to it yet. As for skills, the reason it doesn't increase is because the GM is suppose to decrease DCs behind the scenes. Basically, at Level 1 a character can pick or break a door open with, say, DC 20, but a Level 10 character should be able to pick or open most doors without even rolling...Retrokinesis wrote:I'm still mad there's no way to increase skills beyond Specialist, though. I'm actually going to vote with keeping things as they are... not necessarily because I like the old system better, but because it'd be less of a hassle.

Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
My understanding is that eventually the new system will have arcana automatically have magical tricks linked to it... With magecraft becoming an optional thing... For some reason.
Re: Luna's Command: The Wibbly-Wobbly Saga (Looking for No More replacement)
About to send PMs to people who haven't posted Endurance checks yet...frankly, I should've done so a while ago, but as you might have guessed from my posting activities here I simultaneously hit burnout and got very busy. That isn't my excuse, by the way, just the explanation.

Aaand still nothing. Hmm.
Unfortunately, I think I've given everyone long enough - sorry to Random, if you're even still out there? Perhaps I missed a post again. I'll check now as I finally update the topic. If not, it may mean that we need to find a replacement once again...
...not good.
