Luna's Command: the Recruitment Station

Okay, so some of the posts near the beginning of the current OOC topic seem to have disappeared for some reason, and so I cannot change the topic title to reflect this new update here.

In short: we are in need of replacements for Luna's Command if we want the game to continue. Three or four of them.

What system are we using?: Pony Tales, most recent edition. No Wanderlust here, folks.
Is knowledge of Luna's Command canon required: yes...ish. You can skim, or ask for summarization, if you like.
Is gameplay experience required: no. In fact, this particular game was designed to welcome newbies into the fold! We can still serve that purpose.
Do we update frequently: it depends on my schedule and how often the players themselves are posting, so unfortunately not always.
What level are we at: about to be level four. Have not yet selected a boon for the party.

Well, what do we have to offer, then?

A scintillating, spiraling, attempting-to-stay-with-canon tale of time travel, ponies, and the ramifications of combining the two. We have eldritch horrors from beyond the veil, dragons, friendship, lack thereof, and maybe even some shenanigans. And, for the most part, we have a really good time.

Any takers?

I have set a hard deadline: Anyone interested in this topic needs to have sent at least a partially completed character sheet to me (or posted it in the topic) by midnight this Saturday, August 30th, 2014. We have one taker so far - our own dream axis (is there a space there? I've forgotten and am lazy) will be playing a lighting-using griffin(that sounds oddly familiar) called Starfall. We're all very happy to have them on board, and I myself will post a link to their character sheet once we have a more complete cast again.

That being said, we desperately need a more complete cast again. Please, if you're at all interested, hook yourself up to us - I promise you won't regret it!

Can I get links to the Kuna a Command threads, or at least a summary of events/what you're looking for in a character? I have a Pegasus bard I've been batting around for a while...

You can get both, actually.

Very very basic summary: in the middle of the night, a group of sapient creatures of several stripes were called to Luna, who informed them all that something free-kaaaaay was going on with the magic in Equestria, and that several completely inexplicable events were occurring. In addition, the Crystal Empire had disappeared entirely, and for some reason the party at large (and one gibbering wreck of a pony, poor soul) remembered it ever existed. All the events seemed to center around something in the Canterlot Caves, and for some reason Luna saw fit to send those she summoned to investigate.

After a universal reset and a meeting with a betentacled eldritch abomination, the party found that the cause of these events (probably) was a group of black-clad, sunglasses-wearing ponies (and other assorted sapients) calling themselves E.C.H.O., which stood for "Enemies of Chaos, Harmony, and Order". After a confrontation with the boss of E.C.H.O., Nihl, in which he was backed up by his organization and our heroes were backed up by the Princesses and their army at large, including recently-crowned Twilight Sparkle.

In the midst of this mess, Nihl and a few of his lieutenants or bodyguards or something escaped into a portal, and the party followed. They came out the other side about ten thousand years earlier, maybe more, and found themselves in the middle of a conflict between a tribe of zebras and a tribe of griffins. In the middle of this, Nihl was attempting to meet with the zebras for some kind of negotiations, but that plan fell through after the party interfered. Then, lots of things happened at once: a volcanic eruption, the griffins invaded with protection from what they claim was a god, a meteorite fell. E.C.H.O. and the party were forced to work together in order to use the volcanic eruption's kinetic energy to slightly shift the path of the meteorite.

Inside the impact site, the Elements of Harmony were there, revealed to have come from inside the meteor. Nihl and E.C.H.O. disappeared, and according to magical melding with the Element of Magic, another event similar to those that caused the original interference in the background magic of Equestria is about to happen at [x location]. The party is about to head in that direction...and I figured considering all the pauses, necessary and otherwise that the story has gone through, one more to fish up some replacements shouldn't hurt.

THE CAMPAIGN SO FAR AS I CAN RECALL!!! ((Made before Aproc's post))

Six unknown no name peoples throughout equestria is called by Royal Command to come & meet up... On Luna's behalf... Because as it turns out THEY'RE THE ONLY PEOPLE LEFT IN EQUESTRIA WHO RECALL THE EXISTENCE OF THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE!!! Duh-duh-duh!!! Then we're being sent as a group with a few of the Royal Guard to go and find out info on what they believe is where the Crystal Empire is now... Or something like that.. Then we find this evil rock of anti-magic that nearly killed my hippogriff & the dragon from us touching it... Also we ran into some Timberwolves & junk... Eventually my character got wiped from history at some point because I felt like leaving the game. Then later on he get's an epic return that made up for how he was removed from the game. Later after that, I rejoined teh game... While the team was in this evil base of this group known a ECHO! Run by the evil pony known as Nihl... Eventually then the team learn that Time Travel is a thing... And we follow Nihl into the past... Meet up with some Zebras in the past... Who were about to be attacked by some Griffons. We got to chat with Nihl... Which was fun until for some reason... NPC (i think) GET MAD AT NIHL TO END THE TALKS... Even though my character was still wanting to just get some dam answers at the time. (kinda still annoyed with how that went, but a minor issue nonetheless) We could've followed Nihl, but IC it was way to late for us that we choose to go bedz... THEN THE FIRE NATION GRIFFON ARMY ATTACKED! There was lots of fires & junk... Also METEOR OF DOOM WAS SPOTTED IN THE SKY!!! Party tries to get as many everyone to stop attacking & GET OUT OF THE TOWN! Learn that the Griffons believed the meteor is a sign of good & junk... FAST FORWARD TOO ROCK FALLS & NOBODY DIES!!! Stuff wasn't that bad... Turns out... IT WAS THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY THEMSELVES! That crashed in that meteor. It was crazy to learn that out... But at this point the party is now just left to basically three peoples Myself, Paper Shadow's Dragon, & Dusk Raven's Wandering Eye. We're looking into our options to time travel back to the future.

So, if my understanding is correct, you're currently in the past? Because if so I might have a character who will work very well for the campaign.

Yeah far in the past, in Zebrafrica lands... And assuming that Aproc is open to having past-allies join our team. I'm sure you'd be a welcomed addition Elacular. :3

Alright then. Just a warning, it may take me a while to get my character sheet together. My main network acres point isn't drive capable, but it won't take more than a day. In the meantime, I'm reading the threads.

Alright, I've got the prototype of my sheet together. It's still at level one and I don't have my combat together yet, so I'll need a bit more time, but here's Gypsy.

That reminds me, I should update Wandering Eye to the abilities system... which I am in full favor of switching to.

Only thing missing is +3 missing ability points on the non-combat side of things... AND I FOR ONE LOVE YOUR CHARACTER IDEA. I WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO IT. And yeah... I like it that much.  

By the way I for some reason picture my character Lunar the Hippogriff really being quite the pal with your character. :3

Also because this OOC topic is basically the new OOC, I think we should get a listing of the three character sheets that are still in this game for the newcomers to look over & junk.

I would like to post interest, and will PM you some details for my character. For now, I'd like to say that I'm going to reuse my second ever character, High Note, from Mind Gamer's game Endless Winterlands. Obviously I'm going to have to update her character sheet, and the image used will probably be pony creator'd so that she doesn't bring up nightmares every time the sheet is looked at, but otherwise I think it'll be some great fun.

EDIT: May I use the old Laughter?

Would it be acceptable if I had an ability that I intended my character to "grow out of" over time? Specifically, I'm going to take specialist and lower my horse sense to three, but I'd like to eventually drop the ability and maybe replace it with another best of breed. The in-character logic behind this is that Gypsy has been in isolation for so long, he's forgotten a great deal about society and other niceties, but in joining the party he begins to remember them.

Wow, that is a lot of questions I missed when I went to bed!

Luckily, the answer to all of them is exactly the same: "Sure, that's fine!"

Yes, Xel, it's fine - but, to make absolutely certain I have actually seen it, I'll note that in any other campaign besides this easy-mode(attempting now to be easy-normal or so) story, I'd have to decline it.

But since we ARE playing easy mode, is fine. :3

I thought we asked to not go so easy mode & whatnot with the whole 8 talents into battle thing being agreed now to be a thing? Edit: Derp, that's what you mean with you trying to go easy/normal now instead of just easy. XD

Alright. Apart from some reflavoring, reordering and a destiny, Gypsy is all set to go.

Oooh... Pure healer combat too. NEATO! As the guy who get hit the most damage... I'm going to so love your character. :3

Two things:

1) You're at level four, should the pony we create be a normal, level 1 character or should we apply the first four keels of power ups?
2) Any 'house rules' besides the 8 combat talents ones?

Besides my edited mending... And some houseruled stuff from the Utility Talent/Racials System that wasn't apart of the Abilities system... Yeah, nothing else of note I think.
