Ah, well we can say Brash gets a sort of out of date one due to the money issue, and it's a flip rather than a slider. Then back to the 5 main party members together!

Ok but, he asked a lot of questions about the newer ones and by tomorrow he'll probably have completely voided the warranty (he didn't pay for an extended one for this reason) by modifying it to be equivalent or possibly better than a current one. I'll probably need to make a Mechanics check for that later.

After the series of checks we have determined that Brash has re-made his phone into a brass cased slider style phone with video, pics, gps, fractal wallpaper generator, and a Siri-like program called GLaDOS. Oh, it's also Internet capable. But the internet doesn't exist yet so all he gets is TVTropes and his own design documents. =P

Aw, I was hoping it'd be like the hero's phone in Devil Survivor 2, where not only does the screen flip up, it then has to rotate 90 degrees and extend a bit. Because clearly the hero has the coolest phone. And then it shoots out demons to fight for you. I think you void the warranty when you do that though.

Don't worry, I'll probably see about adding a holographic projector or something to it later at least. (The more ideas the better, lol.)

Released at the height of a massive marketing storm, the GallopTalk Polypony was supposed to change the world - the very first full featured mobile phone smaller than your eye. Instead, it was nearly the end of the venerable manufacturer. To its credit, the little flip-top phone really did have fifty high fidelity polyphonic ringtones featuring themes from your favourite movies and shows, and the ergonomic grip was easy on the hoof and pastern, and the Shiba Inu mascot was, in fact, very cute, but a number of critical issues sank the Polypony's chances of going anywhere but the bargain bin.

One: The hinge pin was low quality steel and the lid overweighted. As a result, thousands were returned in the first week (some even in the same store) when their new owners attempted to flick them open and instead snapped off the top.

Two: The buttons were also smaller than the eye, and the only concession to usability was a tiny stylus nestled flush with the back of the phone. A number of young ponies were admitted to the hospital after attempting to suck the stylus out of its holder and subsequently choking on the tiny plastic stick.

Three: The release of a now infamous security video in which the owner of a Polypony, being cornered by a mugger, throws the phone at her aggressor's face - whereupon it fragments into a hundred pieces, sending the mugger to his knees screaming. At least one self defence school now advocates carrying a Polypony for the express purpose of throwing at aggressors.

Interestingly it was this last factor that saved the Polypony from the landfill, driving a surge amongst parents searching for a good cheap emergency phone for their foals, and hobbyists looking for something they could easily break down and improve on. Both were willing to pay far less than it cost to manufacture the device, but with so many already manufactured the trickle of income from liquidating the phones kept GallopTalk afloat long enough to recover.

Overall a good fixer-upper for a pony on a budget and not too proud to buy their phones from the discount bin.

EDIT: Wow, 360 words on a fictional pony mobile phone written on a whim. I don't know if that's amusing or terribly, terribly sad. Probably both.
