Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
A pair of blightwings make their attack runs, aiming for the two Lokira in the group. One misses the nimble Aparix, but another cuts a little too close for comfort to Bellator.
As for the rest of the battle, it's chaos. Most of the guard is around the broken gate, trying desperately to prevent more monsters from getting in, even as the ramparts are flooded with Blightwings. More and more of the townsfolk are entering the fray, and their numbers are beginning to match those of the blight. Lorez and the caravan lieutenant stand atop a house, firing blasts of energy at groups of monsters, while the caravan leader struggles to keep his Trihorn under control as it lunges at the hounds surrounding it. The barkeep stands tall with a bow in hand, deftly firing shafts into the Blightwings harassing the ramparts, and Ghost Tracker flies about, doing her best to keep the attention of the Blightwings on her and not on the beleaguered guardsmen.

- Spoiler:
- Bellator takes 6 damage before resist, Aparix takes none.
Paladin's perception check, while appreciated, is ultimately irrelevant as I was going to tell you how the battle was going anyway. XD Meanwhile, we're back to the top of the order with Zakhar!

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The giant lets out a sound which can only be described as a bellow, and turns its attention towards Zakhar. Its tentacles whip around and wrap around Zakhar with no amount of dexterity, not inflicting any damage but restricting his movement.
Meanwhile, one of the blighthounds darts around Bellator, flanking him, while a blightwing dives in for the attack.

- Spoiler:
- Zakhar takes no damage from the Giant but is dazed (save ends). Blighthound C inflicts 4 vulnerability to Bellator, which Blightwing B follows up on with 4 damage before resist... which I think the resist totally blocks out thanks to Paladin's protection.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
"Hey! Get back here!" Aparix shouted out the door as the blightwing left. "I'm not through with you, you flying armadillo!"
- Spoiler:
- So Aparix did 1 damage by shouting at the thing (that thing being Blightwing B). I won't even say which move it actually was, because it's not important.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
An unseen hand suddenly latched onto the giant's ankle; while it was not enough to fell the monster, it did stagger, trodding on two Blighthounds before it regained it's balance.
Meanwhile, some ways away from where she had fallen, a clawed, fuzzy hand burst from the ground as Mitsuna clawed her way back to the surface. In her surprise, she had lost focus; and reverted to her Therion form. She fell over onto her hands and knees, coughing up sand, dirt, and a sinister looking black fluid. After several moments, she looked up...
To see Lorez, not three paces away, staring wide eyed. The two women stared for an awkward moment before Mitsuna snatched a pebble and threw it at the other spell caster. It didn't really do any harm; but, it distracted the Lokira, and when she returned her gaze, Mitsuna was gone.
- Blast From The Past:
- 1d12 = 5 damage, to Giant and adjacent BHs.
Don't forget to Throw The Gauntlet at them.

- Comment:
- Yes, I just had an RP moment right in the middle of combat! Yes, I intend for this to bite us later; I thought fighting bounty hunters and/or Lorez would be a nice change of pace from the usual monsters. It can also serve to break it to the rest of the party what Mitsuna really is.
- Combat:
- +1 energy from Blood Pact. -1 HP.
[+1] Gather Energy - Standard Utility
On your next turn, you may take 2 standard actions. You cannot use this talent two turns in a row.
[0] Hideaway - Minor Utility [1/Battle]
You cease to exist and can take no actions until the start of your next turn. While in this state of nonexistence, you can affect no creature and no creature can affect you in any way. At the start of your next turn, you reappear.
Status: Bloodied, Non-existant
HP: 15
Energy: 2
I should seriously consider some good healing moves... In the meantime, come round 4, I'll have to rely on Zakhar's Sap Strike for a while.

Another blighthound moves to flank one of the party, this one going for Paladin. A blightwing meanwhile goes on an attack run against Bellator, its talons piercing through his defenses.
- Spoiler:
- Paladin suffers vulnerability 4 (save ends) from Blighthound A, and Blingwing A inflicts 9 damage to Bellator which ignores resistance, + 4 vuln for 13 damage.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Bellator was bowled over by the assault, standing slowly...That last hit had torn deep into his hide, the Lokira was bleeding pretty badly now..."Eh, heh....Not bad, little beasties, but a little blood won't break me...No, no...You'll be dead loooong before me!!" He charged, picking a hound as his victim, leaping at it and smashing into it with his axe, the unstable enchantment he put on his axe seeming to...Well, be unstable, arcs of energy lancing across the battlefield, and even backlash onto Bella himself...When the attack was over, he stepped back, hands seared from the magic, wounds agitated by his charge, and dropped to one knee, trying desperately to catch his breath.
- Combat Data:
Oh boy this one's gonna sting.
6 Damage, -4 Res, +2 Vuln = 4 Damage
4 Damage - 4 Res = 0 Damage.
9 Damage +4 Vuln = 13 Damage. (Total: 17.)

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The blast of energy wreaks havoc upon the pack, with many members severely wounded, and one Blightwing falling from the sky. Despite this, two Blighthounds leap forth, one of them stretching its blades wide and sweeping past Bellator and Paladin. Its attack falls short of Bellator but still manages to nick Paladin. The other, barely standing, moves to flank Aparix.
- Spoiler:
- Blightwing B is down, and everything hit by Bellator's special is bloodied.
Blighthound D inflicts... 1 damage to Bellator and Paladin. Bellator's resist absorbs the measily damage while Paladin's vulnerability means he takes 5 damage.
Aparix meanwhile gains 4 vuln (save ends) - and it's a utility, so Blighthound B doesn't trigger Throw the Gauntlet.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Paladin grimaced as the battle rage on. His allies where getting injured greatly, the blight where fighting strategically, using their greater numbers to flank indivudals and hit them hard. A tactic they tried to do against him, though Paladin managed to dart out of the way of the attack. The nick being absorbed by his armour of ki before it broke.
Taking stoke of the situation, Paladin moved to heal Bellator, then hesitated, glancing at his sword. With the work that William did on it runes he should be able to summon his giant by now. Bellator was significantly injured, and with the blight swarming around them, he would most likely go down before Paladin could focus his magic again... however, by summoning his giant. Paladin would hopefully be able to disrupt and maybe even fell some more of the blight. Something would be necessary if they wanted to turn the tide of battle.
Making his desicion, Paladin left Bellator to his fate, though his armour was bolstered by Paladin's simple presence. Channeling his gift and ki into the sword, the human activated the runes bringing it up as a bigger, firey rune was traced in the air in front of it. And from that, emerged a giant warrior of fire. With a swift motion, its blade swung across the battle field, allies left untouched but many enemies would burn. Paladin also took this opportunuty to qucikly move himself so he was no longer flanked.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Two blighthounds fall, howling as the flames burn their flesh. Meanwhile, the last two Blightwings close in for the attack. One dives for Aparix, claws tearing and threatening to inflict grievous wounds. Another goes for Zakhar, managing to get a scratch in through the giant's tentacles.
- Spoiler:
- Blighthounds A and B are down, and in fact A should have been down when Bellator did his thing, but I forgot to include the damage by Staff of the Stars. Regardless, they are down. But Aparix takes 9 damage before resist and vuln (I don't remember who else Paladin gave resist to and I think Aparix still has vuln 4 but I won't swear to it) and takes 3 ongoing damage, while Zakhar takes 3 damage, ignoring resistance.
Back to the top with Zakhar!

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
After Zakhar managed to shake off the Giant's tentacles, it hefted its blade arm and swung again, this time swinging low to the ground, forcing all in its path to jump or dart back, further compromising their position. One guardsman was too slow and was knocked aside, mercifully as the blade began to slow down.
One of the blighthounds, meanwhile, noticing the new fire giant, darts towards it and attempts to nip at it, heedless of its flames.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
Aparix barely ducked under the blade as he ran out into the main portion of the battlefield. "Ah, sheesh," he breathed out, raising his weapon. "Least it's not hard to miss a target that big!"
He spoke truly, as the metal bolt flew forth, directly aiming itself at the giant's eye and landing somewhere pretty darn close to it.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The Channeler, having returned to her human form, watched in awe from around a corner. She had heard of elementals... but she had dismissed them as fantasy. She had stood corrected.
But she was not to be outdone. Her mind reached out to the giant, Noxa's will flowing through her. For a normal person to attempt this was paramount to insanity. For Noxa it was simple.
The giant ceased fighting the defenders... and turned on the other Blight Scorned!!

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The giant roared, holding a hand up to its head in pain. In that moment, Mitsuna was able to tap into and overcome its weak mind. When its hand came down from its face, it looked around in confusion - for its friends and foes had switched places.
Meanwhile, also affected by Noxa's illusions, one of the Blightwings dived at its comrades, talons out.

- Spoiler:
- The giant is bloodied and dominated, and thanks to the adjacency stuff, Blightwing A and Blighthound C are also dominated. It's Blightwing A's turn... so, Mitsuna, would you like the multi-target or the single-target attack, and on which foe?
Edit: The Blightwing slashes at Blightwing... C, inflicting 7 damage and finishing it off. There are now two blightwings and two blighthounds left. Bellator's Turn!

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
With hounds and fliers being vanquished in the battle, his warrior of fire’s sweeping blade keeping more at bay, and now the great giant turning on the hordes of blight, Paladin saw his chance.
Channeling ki into his voice, the human took a deep breath and spoke. His voice booming across the battlefield, cutting through the clash of steel and flesh. “Disengage and form up! Guards, form a spear wall to keep the enemy at bay!” Paladin hoped that people would listen to him, though he doubted everyone would. Still, he primarily hoped that the guards would follow his command.
Stepping over Bellator, Paladin redirect the channel of his ki and mingled it with his gift, directing it at the bloodied warrior, closing wounds and rejunvinating him, as his aura once more reinforced his defenses, while the hammer wielding warrior got a similar boost. Through this left him still vulnerable to further attacks.

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
The last remaining blightwing makes an attack run on the party.
Meanwhile, the rest of the battle is going well. Not all of the guards are able to disengage, but many of them do and form a spear wall, enough to keep any more Blightspawn from entering through the breach. The only weak link is around the giant - a minor detail soon to be remedied.

The Blighthound whimpers and falls under the flurry of blows from Zakhar's hammer.
The giant, meanwhile, percieving foes all around it, swings is blade wide, inflicting hefty damage to all Blightspawn around it. With a single blow it fells the last Blightwing, seriously wounds the last Blighthound, and cleaves a random Blightmare in the background, further allowing the guards to strengthen their position.
The last Blighthound, meanwhile, despite being at death's door, lunges for one of its undominated kin, bringing down another Blighthound before suddenly shaking its head and looking about it in confusion.

...and thus, didn't notice until it was too late that she was being attacked. The next few seconds were a blur; and then suddenly, she was on her back, with long scratches on her arms and face, and numerous tears in her robe. If I recall correctly, that makes me unconscious? Or dead?

Re: The Hordes of the Blight - The Adventure
"Eh, heh...Should have finished me off when you had the chance, beasts! Too late now..." Bella laughed for a moment, grateful for the assistance, but he was more focused on ending this...He chanted almost incomprehensibly, swinging his axe around above his head, the rune inscribed on it glowing more and more brightly..."I call upon the essence of all things, repel that which is corrupt, and sanctify the land...Celestial Rain...!!" After a moment, his chanting raised to a wild shouting as the rune seemed to...explode, knocking Bella's axe to the ground, but sending a wave of light across the battlefield, burning away any traces of the blight it touched (Hopefully including the monsters,) and soothing the wounds of the defenders...
- Combat Data:
Gained 6 HP
Regenerated 3
Chosen Action:
[-7] Celestial Rain – Standard Attack
Roll 2d10. Deal that much damage to up to six enemies. You and up to three allies gain hp equal to the roll result. The Celestial Staff vanishes.
2d10 = 8+7 = 15 damage to all remaining enemies, and that much HP to...Mitsuna, Zakhar, and Aparix. Bloodiness BEGONE!
Saving Throw: 3,10= Fail.
HP: 30/30
Pips: 2
Status: Regen 3, Resist 2(+2), Vuln 5 (save-ends)
Condition: Screw Bloodied!
I should stop doing -5 and up moves as Mystic-Arte style attacks, but it's fun.

Aparix all but mercy kills the last Blighthound, and Bellator's Celestial Rain wreaks havoc on the remaining Blightspawn in the background. The Giant falters slightly, but still stands.
- Spoiler:
- Paladin's turn! I think at this point we're back to RPing anyways...
