I'll talk to conan about Brass Wings when he gets home, and what is had for Silver Lining... it really does have much to be desired. I had to bug Paper about it a lot just to get that much, and he hasn't even chosen his CM yet.

Sure, as long as you subtract that extra Ability point from one of your skills (sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but the 30-point limit is there for a reason. Going over it should inflict a penalty, as far as I'm concerned, even if it's by only 1 point). No, not a skill group, just a single skill. Go ahead and use this to your advantage, if you want your character to purposefully be really weak in a certain skill (yes, can bring down to 4, or 2 if Specialist).

The book series based in Port Pegasus is generally called by the name of its mane character, Sheerclop Homes. You can probably guess what series I'm basing it off of, so just take those books and ponify them. I've never actually read any of them, so the example (I think) I gave in the OP was only to show that yes, these fiction books actually are fiction. The more you have to search/remember for information about those books, the higher the DC for the History check.
