""Still, putting that aside that all sounds like a generous and, dare I say, extremely fair deal," The guns twirled lazily in the air, not pointing at anypony in particular. "I do believe we might just take you up on that!" This being said, the ghostly colt somehow managed to speak directly to Hallows and Gallows without turning his head away from the two colts in front of him. "Mind getting out the bits, gentlejack and jackie? In the meantime, since we're all of us communicating friendly-like here and whatnot, these two can get out their licenses - couple of smart colts like you wouldn't be carrying around weapons like these dangerous ones without their licenses, of course - so we can all be certain there's no sort of mixup of some sort going on here."

Hallows lets out a whine and goes for the bag, but Gallows steps forward. "No! These are our bits, my sister earned them fair and square. We'll pay for our rooms, but I don't see how this suddenly turned into a Mulican standoff all of a sudden; and we're not about to be mugged in broad daylight by two ponies who don't even have their weapons." He lowers himself into a snarling crouch, staring them down. "You two haymunchers are just prey to us."

If I may be slightly racist, AND throw a wrench into peaceful negotiations for a moment, I do believe that is a roll I can assist: 18+7=25, for a +3 assist bonus.

Then again, I'm ready for a fight if you are.

The two ponies grin and pull out licenses with their photos on them. According to the licenses, the clean-shaven pony is named Wint, while his mustachioed comrade is named Kidd. The licenses are signed, stamped, and from a local Las Pegasus munitions store - essentially, they look legit.

"This isn't a mugging." "This is returning stolen property." "You meddled with the wrong slot machine." "You're quite mistaken if you think you can walk away with those bits scot-free."

Sweet Puff remembers that her parents probably wouldn't have wanted to talk about these ponies near her, but she does remember a day at the library in which she read a book about famous criminals across Equestria. Why on earth she would read it without it having any candy is a mystery, but she does remember Wint and Kid's names being in the book. And she remembers them being called some funny word - what was it - "a mocassin"? "Classing?" Something that ended in "assin". Apparently they had a wide variety of toys (or was it tools?) and never liked using the same toys twice on someone. They sounded fun, though, because reportedly they have "wicked" senses of humor after a successful job, but jobs sounded boring (at least at the time).

"Assin? Alassin? Tomassin?" Gallows looks back at Hallows, who looks back at him. They lock eyes for a moment, and then both jump back about 5 feet. "ASSASSINS!?"

No ability for Perception assist, too bad. Assist roll 12+7 (history? declaring them assassins)= 19 for +3. +1 for Grandeur as well, if she didn't already add it.

The gun licenses appear about a year old. As Hallows and Gallows exclaim "ASSASSINS?", deathly quiet falls over the lobby, followed by a lot of ponies trying to check in or just pass through running around screaming in panic. Wint and Kidd take this opportunity to grab for their guns.

"We appreciate the shout-out." "But we've done everything we could to keep this discreet." "If you quite insist on being unreasonable..." "I assure you, you will regret it."

Unless you defuse the situation and/or just hand over the money combat's about to start.

Maverick's horn lit up when the ponies started screaming. Nearly two dozen small knives, all identical, all two inches long, whirled around to form a protective barrier around himself. His face took on a practiced, calm, almost serene look; a convincing facade against the terror in his heart as he remembered that he was a fairly mediocre blade-caster...

The Twins don't say anything else, but look at each other. Cautiously they reapproach the developing scene, and again drop into crouches, baring their teeth, ready to fight.

At least, ready to fight from behind the guys with the weapons.

At the scream of "Assassins," Rhinestone was jerked awake from the pillar she had fallen asleep against. She looked over at her party and saw them facing off against two brownish ponies.

Rhinestone pulled her shovel from her back and wandered over to the group. "Hey there, fellas. Nice to know you. Did I hear that you were assassins? Dude, nothing but respect. You guys give people like me work and lots of interesting dissections. Not gonna complain. However, what you have done is made the mistake of dicking around with the friends and work partners of a very grumpy, overtired and pissed off gravedigger who knows a lot about dead bodies. And I honestly think you guys would be a lot less unpleasant to look at if you stopped being alive. Don't try to leave now. You've made your bed...mmm, bed...uh, you...just buck you, seriously."

White Whisper carried a look on his face that could not quite accurately be described with common phrases, though a certain memetic "I am 110% done with this" came rather close.

Regaining his smile (and checking to make sure the safeties were absolutely on), White Whisper tossed the guns off to the side somewhere, out of reach of the ponies in front of him. At least for now. "Assassins or no, I think we could all do with a bit less lethal force today, what say you?"

Sweet Puff descends like a bullet shot from an invisible gun upon Kidd with a squeaky "HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!" but just as quickly avoids actually hitting him, then sticks her tongue out at him and starts making a bunny-shaped cloud to help her fight.

Wint pops back up from behind the counter, holding a large black spherical object.

"Are we playing hardball, Mr. Kidd?" "It appears court is in session."

Wint then throws the ball at Hallows and Gallows. It bursts in a flurry of sound and shockwaves, blasting them and the nearby Rhinestone and Sweet Puff. As the exploding orb rocks the room, it sends one of the banners, the one advertising the Clock Watchers conference, falling down onto the jackal twins.

"I, for one, am having a blast." "You did a bang-up job, Mr. Wint."

Kidd ducks behind the counter, leaving Wint exposed.

White Whisper watched the banner fall almost impassively before turning to the smug pony before him. "Right, if we're playin' hardball, I don't suspect you have any right to complain, now, about a penalty flag!"

With these last few words, a different banner was surrounded with a green glow simultaneous with the one in the ghostly colt's eyes, momentarily pausing its sway in the chaotic wind of battle to swoop down and tie itself betwixt Wint's arm and a nearby pillar. "That won't exactly slow him down, so to speak, but it'll likely keep him from gettin' behind that desk properly..."

This particular banner is advertising Crazy Hassan's Emporeum, leaving only the banner pointing out which way the casino is hanging from the ceiling.

The twins yelp and whine in pain as the bomb goes off. Hallows is on her feet first, slightly wobbly. She stares down Wint. "You guys wanna have a double's battle? We'll show you how to double's battle! Gallows, get set." "Uh.." Gallows unsteadliy rises now. "We haven't really ever-" "Just do it! CASSANDRA!" "HELENUS!" Both twins jump straight into it, and charge the counter. Teeth bared in vicious snarls, they both leap across onto Wint, looking for blood.

Damn premature Daze, ruined my turn progression.

"...what." After recovering from being hit by the shockwave, Rhinestone kneeled on the ground and gawked at Wint and Kidd. "WHAT? Did you seriously just throw a bomb at three mother-bucking FOALS?"

Rhinestone stood up on her hind legs and held her shovel between her front hooves, a stance practiced from years of gravedigging. She then charged Wint with a loud scream and slammed her shovel into him. Once, "Cowardly-" twice, "sack-" and a third time, "OF CRAP!" On the second blow, a small, blue puff of air was forced out of Wints mouth and floated over to the twins, surrounding them.

As the twins and Rhinestone approach the counter, they see all manner of nefarious-looking contraptions hidden behind there. How no other front desk workers noticed is anyone's guess. The crowd, meanwhile, starts running around in panic, getting closer to the actual scene of the battle.

Maverick whirled around, flinging knives towards Wint and Kidd; sadly, most of them were dodged. He brought them back around; noticing Rhinestone out of the corner of his eye, he sent several of them whirling in front of her, point-outward...

Wint does not look happy to have a foal and a jackal in his personal space. Kidd pops back up, revving a chainsaw.

"Mr. Wint, I tawt I saw a doggy." "Not to worry, Mr. Kidd. I'll saw him right back."

Mr. Kidd wildly swings the chainsaw around, slicing through the banner tying up Mr. Wint and giving everypony a pretty good reason to get away from the counter, but especially Gallows, who is struck by the chainsaw and receives a pretty big gash along his face. Mr. Wint takes the opportunity to duck back behind the counter.

6 damage to Gallows and Hallows, and 4 ongoing damage (save ends). They made the Vulnerability save, failed the Ongoing save.

Whisper's turn.
