Well, I was expecting you to follow through with her, not just "lol bye" once you got to the clinic. But I guess that's expecting a bit much from the two taht didn't even offer to to give her a ride instead of making her walk on her bad hoof all the way back.
Jerks.

Basically, what I was wondering is if there's anything like this in Equestria?

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
Hey, she was leaning on Emerald. I have asserted (it's canon!) that Emerald is not physically strong, she wouldn't offer to carry the filly as she doesn't see herself as capable to do so. I have also implied (admittedly through walking conversation, I was kinda free-styling) that Emerald is NOT emotionally mature. Her stories, like the drugs beforehand, are escapes, and she has managed to turn her problem into an income, but it's still a problem. The little green unicorn knows that, or assumes that, Sunflower being "in pretty bad shape" will instill a great deal of anguish in the child, and she, as the impromptu replacement parental figure, would have had to deal with that anguish, and she would not be able to. Pawning Sunset off on Star was a selfish, but valid, alternative, and Emerald can save her conscience by pretending to be extremely busy helping others to escape the guilt of the action.Bronymous wrote:Well, I was expecting you to follow through with her, not just "lol bye" once you got to the clinic. I wouldn't think so. With Food being partially magic in origin (there are spells to spontaneously generate lots of food), I'd say that hoarding of food is not a problem so long as Celestia has access to her subjects in order to create it with her magic, so she wouldn't bother putting something like that into law.Cardbo wrote: Basically, what I was wondering is if there's anything like this in Equestria?
Of course, Celestia isn't here anymore. Slight flaw in the plan.

Are you sure of that? The only examples I could think of are the Zap Apples, which magically appear on the tree, and maybe Pinkie's party canon, and thats only if you go by Contraptionology. Still, in this case, Storm's refering to medicine, not food. If we could magic up some medicine, there'd be no need to look for Figure Head or Quick Fix.

Decent excuse. What's Dodger's, "I'm technically not allowed to be around children"?

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
Yeah, Dodger's got a court order to stay at leave 50 meters away from any filly or colt. He figured he could let it slide if he were "Rough Boulder" and not "Dodger", but the guilt was pushing at him to keep to the spirit of the law, if not the exact rules.
Let's go with that.
Cardbo: "Instant Party" is an effect in-game. The rules of the game imply its existence, not so much the canon of the show. Still, there are no wheat farmers but somehow pinkie has plenty of thickening and rising agents for her cupcakes. Pegasus meat helps with the rising, but you'd be surprised at how little it does to thicken the batter, she'd need flour. For meds, though... There probably isn't much that can't be cured regularly, considering even Ponyville's constant disasters don't lead to medical issues. I'm sure the Solar Empire has a martial law in place, but we're not soldiers, we can't repossess the items anyways.
EDIT: Oh! There's apparently athieving bandit gentleman thief in town. Some griffon. Ask him to take it for you!

"I'm not good at carrying things, and the wizard seems to be supporting her fine. I am a good judge of character."
On another note, this is stressing me out way more than it should.

Don't we already have 6? I think there are games that haven't started yet that have less.

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
You're that desperate to get 4 people in the same place at the same time, eh? You know, we WERE all a party for one brief shining moment...
I think we're missing an Element anyways, even with 6, so eh.
I keep an eye out for new games popping up here, there are not many that are empty. We tend to fill 'em quickly.
EDIT re: The Griffon's Ultimatum:
That's... A bit harsh punishment for splitting the party. I mean, wow. Like, I know as Element of Magic-with-a-magic-point, Emerald has one "get out of any situation, no matter how dire, free" card, but still, a bit rough don't you think?

Remember what I said about assumptions? I'm not punishing anyone for anything., And, by my count, you have three viable options for the situation.
And now we're in an interesting situation, because it all comes down to what Dodger decides to do.

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
5 bits on him rushing the griffon in a fit of gentlecoltly rage.
And I know you aren't punishing. In fact, I think you're doing the exact opposite: Sticking to the script. We were meant to go here with a party of 6, but we didn't, but you're not altering the script just for that. In a way, it's good Star didn't come along; my strategy would only work with 2 ponies maximum.
I technically see 5 options. Just two are disagreeable.
1) Element of Magic the situation to safety.
2) Keep this bluffing game going.
3) Use illusions to fake a guard bust.
--
4) Allow the baddies to do what they will.
5) Go for the throat.

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
Hmmm. Close. But I have made some key changes. Obviously it doesn't make any sense to share them with you, but trust me when I say that I am affording you all proper consideration.
Also, since I forgot to say it before, in response to your telekinetic message;
Oh DAMN.
Edit: I should also mention, I haven't paused the rest of you in favor of resolving this situation, but just about everything everyone else is doing depends on Jaquir's actions, and I am waiting on him.

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
I was going to say "The Pale Rider will feed well under this eternal sun", but I thought that'd be hammy even for Emerald. She hopes it will be enough to make Dodger stand down.
I, on the other hoof, hope he rushes the pegasus traitor.
Telepaths: The excuse to run conversations as if the NPCs aren't there, justified in-game. Try yours today!

I prefer throat-mics and earpieces, myself. I'm just more of a tech guy then a magic guy.
- Spoiler:
- And I hope he attacks, too. Spent a lot of time setting up my very first combat encounter. It'd be a shame if it get's bypassed completely.

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
When the DM wants me to attack that makes me very, VERY cautious - as in "oh shit oh shit I'm going to die" cautious. I may have no idea what I'm doing, but Dodger's not a violent kind of guy.
Besides, we're on a roll of ignoring what the DM wants, so why break it?

Re: The Sun Sets OOC and info
Just remember those words of sage advice I gave in Dr. Blight's "advice for new DMs" page: You can easily change the names and keep the encounter for later. Besides, going all Scheherazade on them, that only worked out well for her because cavalry were on their way. I'm sure they can assault the upscale area or something tomorrow and have the Figure Head team need to fend them off.
...And the gentlecolt just runs away. Jerk. Now the real fun, though: A chocobo clearly began this madness, but it left a note with some Blue Moon poison dust on it, and the medic team will investigate and find that the griffon has a letter with the dust on it, and misunderstandings and combat and danger abound!

Which is why you aren't allowing that level of tech in your game thus forcing us to rely on magic?Bronymous wrote:I prefer throat-mics and earpieces, myself. I'm just more of a tech guy then a magic guy.

I'm sure its friendly ribbing. But telepaths are still better since you can speak to people you just met too.

You mentioned airships before, I think. That defines this game as steampunk since steam airships never happened. QED Jaquir now has a Dr Grodbort's

...a "Dr Grodbort's" what? Also, steampunk without steam doesn't make any sense. Helium and Hydrogen Airships, however, do make sense. Also I don't like steampunk. It's gaudy and ridiculous.
And, to be clear they use Helium now because they used hydrogen in the past, and had their own version of the Hindenburg, I would imagine.
