((It just goes on and on, my friends...))
((HOPEFULLY I won't have to make an OOC thread... I have no intention of baby-sitting on this. But we'll see. We'll see...
I stand corrected.))
You open your mailbox one day to find a bright pink envelope with a balloon printed on the front. There is no return address (and, mysteriously, no send address either) but it seems harmless... as you open it, a loud voice suddenly bursts into song:
This is your singing telegram
I hope it finds you well!
You're invited to a party
'Cause we think you're really swell!
Everyone's invited
And I do mean EVERYONE!
So bring your friends and enemies
And we'll have Tons of Fun!
There will be games and dancing
Bob for apples cut a rug
And when it's time to go home
Don't forget to grab a hug
No need for a silly thing
Like character sheets
There won't be any fighting
Or meanies to be beat
No need to bring a present
Just bring all of your friends
We're going to have lots of fun
At the Party That Never Ends!

(But if there is no OOC thread, where would players post their characters, get information, talk to each other about the game easily, and ask the GM questions?)

I don't think we need character sheets, just characters with personalities. It's a social RP, open to everyone, no skill checks or utility usage or combat. Just interesting conversation.

Only Pinkie, thought the black-and-orange turtleshell, would throw a party and invite a cat to participate. He stretched from his perch on the windowsill. Well, might as well check this out. Not like I've got anything better to do. Out the window he dropped, landing gracefully on the streets and casually making his way to Pinkie's house. No hurry here; knowing Pinkie, this party could well go on for the rest of the day, so it's not like he was going to miss something.
In due time, he made his way to the house and leaped his way up onto an open window, taking a peek inside to see what was going on.

Whisper arrived early, having been flown over by an earth pony using some strange flying device who then said he was in a rush to get back to the other side of the world. She noticed an insufficient amount of party preparations, really only 5 cakes and 2 punch bowls and no meat for griffons or gems for dragons!?, and proceeded to pull a fridge and a box of extra party favors out of her tail and within moments had emptied their contents appropriately around the room.

Meat! Score! Definitely worth it already! The cat dropped inside from the window and slunk as stealthily as he could towards the plate with the meat. It helped that the pony in question was busy running around getting things ready, so unless-.

Three Days Prior:
In the east, a star was shining, shining to a degree unlike any other in the night sky - shining... red?. The 'star' jetted across the sky, burning, not shining, getting lower every mile it went. Telescopes trained on it from the high places of canterlot caught glimpses of a metallic substance, as the shooting star fell at incredible speed. The star fell westwards, vanishing over the mountains to the west. A huge light came up, an explosion of vast magnitude. Ponies were knocked off their feet even hundreds of miles from the remote location.

Tape Roll rose slowly from under the table, watching the cat playing with a streamer with mean glint in his eye...
<This is gonna be AWESOME,> the Gallopfreyan thought, pulling out some baling twine and a roll of duct tape.
Grabbing a piece of meat off the table, he rolled a piece of tape onto itself, and stuck the meat onto the end of his twine, taping the other end to a handy broomstick that nopony appeared to be using.
Then, carrying his cat-distracter up the stairs, he dropped the meat end down just over the cat's head, making sure his head was out of sight...

Soon, what busted on the scene was a large blast of music that sounded just like that from those Musical Books for Foals... Those Pony Power Ranger books. The music playing was this. As everyone looked for the sourse of the music a Blue Unicorn with a Question Mark cutie mark was enters dancing to the music and singing along word for word... And doing some Air Getare shreading when there was no words to be said.

Then his horn glowed as he cast a few spells. One to mute the new pony's music. One to dim the lights, and a third to make some colored spotlights to focus upon himself as needed.
"MP6! Give It A Go, Timbaland!"
And the chosen song burst out of the speakers.
Tape Roll danced down the stairs through the intro, and sang along to the first part of the lyrics, focusing the different spotlights on him as appropriate.
Letting the music fade out before the second verse began, he stared down the new pony. "I am Tape Roll. And I challenge you to a Dance Duel!"
((Actual fighting is a no. Dancing is just FINE. As are other party-appropriate contests, provided you can do so without pissing each other off OOC.))

Before he could shout an audible warning, the whole thing burst in a shower of sparks, plastic, electronics, and wires.
"Fret not! I can fix it. Maybe. But we'll have to wait on that dance duel... sigh."
Trotting over to it, he pulled out his trusty duct tape and gravitational crescent wrench and got to work...
And then another. And a third.
Before he could shout an audible warning, the whole thing burst in a shower of sparks, plastic, electronics, and wires.

Unfortunately for Tape, the cat managed to get himself so tangled up in the streamer that by the time he noticed the cat-distracter on the stairs, he was pretty much unable to actually get to the thing.
Dang it! thought the cat violently, thrashing around in an amusing and ultimately vain attempt to free himself from his festive bonds.
