Re: Wanderers of Weyard
@ Keen
We can't be killed. At least, not here, where we're seen.
@ Dancing
Hey, there is one other djinni in here! Just one though... Hi other Djinni!
...Greetings
Before the Djinn can continue their conversation, you reflexively look away to avoid the sensation of hearing Dancing's flank speak.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Gusty, Silver, and Keen come to the end of the brick road out of town in Taopony swamp ahead of the others. The path branches: one leading to a dock at which a number of rowboats are moored in the thinner wetlands, the other going into a reasonably well lit tunnel.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
"Now, I hope you two don't talk when anypony else is around." Dancing says, having composed himself after hearing two voices coming from his flank. "It won't be fun explaining that two magical spirits have taken residence in me." Dancing heads out in the direction the others went, hoping that he's not too far behind.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Dancing arrives at the crossroads, and sets forth for the boats. He begins untying the boat, while Silver assists him...
Suddenly, Pumpkin Poultice rushes in, jumping onto the newly unhooked boat, with an ecstatic Nectar on his back:
"Pumpkiiiiiiiin Pouuuultice!"
The jolt knocks Silver and Dancing into the boat, and sends the boat down its path... One of the boat passengers calls back: "Just take the caves, we'll meet up with you later."

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Icy sighs and looks to who looks to be the sanest of the random Djinn just nodding to it at the moment.
Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Seed steps, preparing to join Icy...
The cave should be reasonably safe. We might as well go after them.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Keen stared in disbelief at Pumpkin's...zeal. Yes, zeal was the more polite word to use. Still, better that than apathy. Motioning for Gusty and Icy to follow, Keen headed into the tunnel to see where it led. "So...do your wings not work at all or are they just limited? Forgive me for being nosy but just wanting to know how we should approach any obstacles. And it's fine if you don't want to talk about it."

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
"At best... I can move my wings around. But flight, is out of the question, even if I were to try to glide in the air... I wouldn't put much hope into it. Might work, if I'm lucky, but I've never tried it." Icy replied. "And I don't really mind telling you. After all we will be traveling a good deal together."

"Caves. That will be fun. I can light up if it gets too dark." Dancing says, as he walks towards the cave with Icy and Keen.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Silver turns around and joins Dancing in the staring for a moment before sighing.
"Well now we'll just have to hope that they make it and focus on making it ourselves."
She then starts using her pole to push and steer the boat.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Gusty looks over at the shore, looks at her wings, then shrugs.
"So, I guess we'll meet up with them on the other side? Let's get to paddling then"

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Keen pulled a tiny flashlight from out of one of her vest pockets and nestled it under her hairband. Pretty useful once she got it to use crystals instead of fireflies. "It's not that dark but it's best to be prepared. Worst case scenario, Icy can help guide us if this isn't enough. In fact, Icy may want to watch the rear that way nopony can sneak up on us."

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
"That's a wise move..." The Mercury Adept comments as she allows the others to go in first.
Re: Wanderers of Weyard
The various sources of light are sufficient for the reluctant spelunkers to make it through the opening tunnel safely. They eventually emerge into a fairly round cave that is lit by luminescent veins along the walls. The cave appears to be a dead end, with a boulder standing against the wall on the right side. The cave itself consists of a thick canopy of hanging, tangled vines interconnected across the room. In the center is a rather green pool, at the bottom of which small movement can be seen. The room is fairly foul smelling, particularly around the edges, PARTICULARLY particularly around the boulder, and PARTICULARLY PARTICULARLY particularly at the floor.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
Keen scrunched up her nose. This room wasn't exactly pleasant but they had to figure out some way through it. Maybe someone who was here before left something of interest. Might as well look around. The canopy seemed intriguing since she didn't expect something like it indoors.

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
@Zam
The canopy is made of a series of interconnected ...wood thingies, delicately balanced across each other, ending on a ledge around the perimeter about 3/4 of the way to the top of the cavern... vines curl LOOSELY along the beams, trailing down towards the cavern floor at the cavern perimeter... the shaft of the vines, with the exception of the flowers, is too slick to grasp. Four of them have rather delicious smelling and surprisingly hardy flower. Testing a segment, you see that the vines can stretch to about 1.5 - 2 times their length, depending on the strength used. The blue vine hangs 2/3 of the way to the floor. The green vine hangsvery slightly more than halfway to the floor. The Red vine hangs touching the floor. The pink vine hangs almost exactly halfway to the floor. Below, the pool of water is just TOO MURKY to note anything specific... the shadow previously seen within it doesn't appear to be particularly fish-shaped, though. You can't help but notice a tight, grooved overhang on one side of the pool. It's shaped a little like an 'M'.
The uncluttered canopy would look, from below, like this:

Re: Wanderers of Weyard
The pool contains a large quantity of magic. The shadow inside the pool is like a camera flash to your magic sight... aside from that, you think your allies got everything.
