The Gameverse (Mare in the Moon)

Bright Idea promptly runs into a tree on the road she could've sworn wasn't there a few seconds before.

"Get out of my forest..." the plants around the party grow visibly and almost uncontrolably, or so it seems.

We mean your forest no harm, and are merely passing through. If you could just let us pass, we could be away from your trees and beasts soon enough...

Copper doesn't particularly believe in the sanity of the mystery assailant, but getting onward without conflict is worth some sacrifice... He looks in the direction of the voice (declining to refer to the attacker as 'sir' for reasons of sheer gender ambiguity) and begins to bargain with a forced (but well-practiced) smile.

But I do apologize for my rudeness, perhaps we could pay a toll?

Lightfoot has found nothing in the plants and looks around confused, searching for the source of the voice.

A bit more rustling from the trees, eeriee wails, and a few more "Leave this place"-s later, the ponies and dragonling unable to do so for some reason involving a mysterious blue mist, Appearing through, rather than from, the trees is a green, semi-transparent unicorn with vines wrapping around him and leaves in an almost ancient looking cloak, lands on the ground without a hoofstep, glaring at the few of you as his horn flashes an unnotable green and a large venus flytrap appears beside him. "For what do you come to my forrest. My Princess has awoken me to your trespassing, and it appears you cannot leave. If I find your answer satisfactory, I may let you leave with your lives. If not.... My plants will be watered with more than the rain." The stallion appears to be a spirit of some sort, though he fades in and out of tangibility.

Less than thrilled with having to deal with a ghost, Copper briefly considers saying something snarky... or just a bit too easy to interpret as 'I do not recognize your master's authority and intend to oust her.'... before biting his tongue and seeing if any of his new allies (friends? ...allies for now) have superior knowledge in dealing with things like this...

This was all just too much for Wormwood. When the scary trees appeared, he'd already attempted to bury his head in the ground, to no avail. When this... spirit appeared, it was almost too much for him.

Wait, spirits? He was an expert when dealing with spirits! Well, not these kinds of spirits, he was more into the spirits of the land. But all the same...

"Your princess? You mean... Nightmare Moon? But she wants to bring about eternal night!"

"We are here to find the Elements of Harmony!" announced Lightfoot.

Colter does nothing except look at the unicorn, bug eyed.
