With the klaxons now silent, it was easier to hear the ambiance of the area. Hector could hear a sort of mechanical humming nearby but had the oddest echo, almost like some sort of chime. "Well, not just anyone gets brought in. STOMP is somewhat classified so not all Keep employees know what all goes on within it."

Hector looked at the Pegasus sideways. "Evidently not too classified," he said with a slight tease to his voice.

"Hold on a second," he started, holding a claw up for silence. He heard a strange humming noise. He made his best guess at where it was coming from; it was hard, given the way it echoed. He went towards it, intended to find out was making it...

Following the sound, Hector and Dusty came to a fork in the path. Continuing onward, they soon found themselves under a definitive mechanical hum. "What do you mean by that? I guess it's not as classified as some things but many aspects of it are kept quiet. Wait...that sounds like one of the Keep generators. But, it shouldn't be that loud... There should be a hatch near here to get up into that room but I'm a little worried."

The Professor draws forth a leather bound tome that as he opens it releases a swarm of countless screaming scarabs. Most focus on the closer of the two smaller mechanical creatures though a good number of them continue to dig deeper into the dragon's wound. As the swarm comes to rest Field rather absent mindedly wipes off the few that settled on him.

"Oh, nothing. Meant by it, I mean. I'm afraid a lot of this is news to me, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can," he said, keeping his ears pricked for the humming sound.

"Wait...that sounds like one of the Keep generators. But, it shouldn't be that loud... There should be a hatch near here to get up into that room but I'm a little worried."

"Is there? Well then, let's see what there is to worry about. Wait here a minute," he declared cheerfully. Now they were getting somewhere useful! He stared up at the ceiling as he looked around for the hatch...

"Time for the big guns." Gearick said with a grim smile, before rearing back on his rear legs. A flaming red rune began to trace itself as the unicorn's eyes turned a deep purple as he performed his powerful magic. As the rune finish, Gearick began to chant in a deep voice. "Elemento ignis hic opem petimus, ut debitum repensatum!"

One he was finished with this, the unicorned dropped to the floor, eyes returning to normal as he finished the spell. Panting as from the rune emerged a giant warrior of flame. Drawing his sword, the giant spoke in reply. "Vos iuvatum faciam ad debitum reddendum ad te, et domum tuam." With that said, the giant struck, his blade of fire sweeping across the dragon and its minions, while the floating spark once more fired out at the dragon. As this happened, Gearick could feel his magic restorer kicking in, rejuvenating him.

The mechanical monstrosity growled in pain after being struck and one of its summons exploded in a shower of gears. For a brief moment, Gearick's coat color returned. However, the dragon bellowed a triumphant roar, releasing a green shockwave that turned the grass grey for as far as the eye could see. It belched a small black fireball at all standing near Professor Fields while the renaming summon shoved the Fire Giant closer to the Professor.

Hector swiftly raced up the hatch with Dusty following. They came to a room with a complex contraption glowing in a marvelous green light. Suddenly, another titanic roar echoed outside! After a moment the green light dimmed to a pale white and the machine...stopped. Dusty Winds stared on with a look that could only be described as sheer terror. "The generator...shut down? That's impossible! We need to get it restarted right now! The museum parts of the Keep run on conventional power but if this stays down..."

Sparks crackled between Grease's eyebrows, forming a lightbulb shape nestled in his forehead. "Limited emotional range, in control of spectral degradation. Looks like the other golem." He shouts, accidentally releasing the lightbulb from his mouth and nailing the dragon in a knee joint. "We're supposed to make him fall asleep or something, right?"

Hector examined the structure before him. While he did know something about it, he was no expert; he just hoped it would be enough...

"...Well. I guess we'd better get it re-started then! Let's see if we can't figure out what's going on here..."

Professor Field spends a moment to cast a spell that refocuses some of the energies spent in damaging the dragon and yet again he opens up one of his mystic tomes this time muttering a chat that projects the image of a sword hanging from a single hair above the mechanical monster the hair promptly snaps in twain dropping the now real sword into the dragon's wound.

In a fury of motion, Dusty began fiddling with dials until a pony sized hatch opened up and she beckoned for Hector to follow her in. "Most of the generators are built with a backup meteorological maintenance gearshaft. If we can get a cyclonic wind going, it should restart itself." She then began flapping her wings towards the turbine in front of her.

Hector watched in amazement. Dusty knew exactly what she was doing, clearly. Janitor, indeed! Or was this something everyone here knew? He smiled; bringing her along was the right choice. "Cyclonic wind? Nothing to it!" he stated boldly. He began flapping his wings mightily. It had been a while since the champion weather-crafter had made a good old fashioned wind storm...

With the swirling winds, the machine's turbines started to spin and the generator gave off a dull purple glow. After exiting, Dusty closed the hatch. Pulling the cover off of the ventilation shaft, she immediately climbed in. "Come on. We need to get the other generator going and I know a shortcut." After a sizable bit of travel, she drops down into a room with an eerie light. The type of sickening abnormality that causes your skin to see things and your eyes to taste spicy. Dusty started to slowly melt into the floor as blue letters appeared in the air. "GASP! Oh no, it's... ...calamitous word of command... ...figure out how to..."

Gearick winced as he was pushed backwards by the shockwave, but dug into the ground. Once it was other, he lowered his head and closed his eyes, though a purple light glowed from his eyelids as he softly whispered. "Meus amicus canderent peto auxiliari, si eris tam benignus." For the first few moments, nothing happen... then a figure faded into view... but not completely. It was there, but was hard to distinguish, hard to focus or make out details... all but it carried a sword of sometime. It spoke quietly, with a whispery echo as it replied. "Veteri amicus erit tibi proelium ad mea fiet." And with that, is joined the rest of Gearick's allies

Unfortunately, it was to hasty, and got in the way of the fire giant strike. Through they hit, both of the blows where weak and rather inefficient. The spark simply zapped the clockwork dragon, as per usual. Slowly chipping away its health.

The creature started to move as the multitude of gears creaked and groaned. As the summon ineffectually bounced off Grease's familiar, an explosion of shrapnel struck those around the Professor. After spitting a more concentrated fireball at the Professor, the dragon suddenly took to the sky! The shifting mechanical body dropped Stout Spirit and Turquoise Tree down into a compartment within.

"Blown Junction!" Grease cursed as his bow tie started to sputter and smoke. He tugged at it and the smoking stopped, but the bow tie was no longer lit up and humming. "Do you have any idea what it takes to fix this?! Stupid box of bolts!" He shouts, hurling another set of lightning claws at the Dragon. "Stupid, incredible, box of bolts." He amends quietly as it took off into the sky.

Stout and Tree fall down with a heavy thud. They groan a d get up. Stout' s face lights up as he sees his friend.

"Oh thanks the spirts you're all right!" Stout joyfully exclaims.

"So you're thanking me for me being ok?" Tree responds.

Stout groans as he looks around their new enviorment.

As they wandered within the gargantuan gear-filled gizzard, Stout Spirit and Turquoise Tree came to a room where the rhythmic groan of machinery sounded almost like breathing. Aligning the walls was an array of jewels pulsating with a mystical blue light that glowed with each "breath".

Stout sits down, and chants a summon softly, calling the spirits from beyond to help him, turquoise making an attempt on his own as well.

Hector stared momentarily in shock. He suddenly leaped into action! Knowing he couldn't solve the puzzle in time, he flew down, being careful not to touch the floor, and wrapped his claws around the pegasus, heaving upwards as he attempted to drag her to safety...

Through great meditation, Stout Spirit was able to discern that the gems acted as the power source for the machine. Set to feed into each other, the more that were functioning at a time produced magic at a multiplicative rate. Separating them from each other could serve to weaken the mechanical beast.

As Hector swooped down, the air felt like the consistency of water. Attempting to grab ahold of Dusty was about as easy as a one hooved pony trying to wrestle a greased pig. His tongue could hear a muffled laughter jeering at the attempt though it seemed his body was starting to adjust to the oddity of the area.

Professor Field takes a step back from the fray of the battle pulling out the script of a play. After reading through a scene he is re-energized but left weakened just from handling the play.

Stout Spirit looks at Turquise Tree. "It seems to be power source."

"Really?"

"Yes really." Stout Spirit then walks towards one of them. "And I believe that if we were to, say, remove them, whatever they are powering should depower."

Turquoise Tree gives a long hard stare at his best friend.

"Yes, I do realize that you can't actually touch them. I had every intention of removing them myself."

"Be careful old timer."

Stout Spirit laughs at his friend's statement and calmly approaches one of the gems. He then attempts to grab one with his hooves and tries to remove it, while Tree attempts to use his telekinesis to lift another.

The laughter in the air contorted to a shriek as several ponies ran into the room carrying books with radiant silver bindings. Before the books could be opened, the letters disappeared and area quickly returned to normal. Dusty stumbled as she tried to regain her balance. "G-get to the other generator and restart it. It's the next room over. Afterwards, check topside and see if the fireflies are still in the outdoor lamps."

As Stout Spirit struggled to remove the gems, a blinding blue light started to strobe within the chamber. It then abruptly stopped...
